Travel to Najaf, Iraq: Preparations, Flights, and Lessons Learned (Part 1, Arbaeen Walk)

We travelled into the heart of Iraq in September 2023 to participate in the Arbaeen Walk - the world's largest human gathering. Join our family as we explore the spiritual and historical sites in the holy cities of Najaf and Karbala.
This is our first time going to Iraq on our own, and from our experience, we highlight some of our preparations and mistakes along the way. Despite the mistakes, we're able to continue with our trip and make the most of every moment. Hopefully this information would help you with your planning as well.
Going to Karbala has always been a humbling experience for us, the story of Karbala keeps inspiring us to be a better human being and to do what is pleasing for Allah. May you be blessed in your journey to Karbala, and if you have not been there yet, we recommend you to experience it!
