Beautiful you really brought the season of Beltane alive, I love the imagery & filming. Your ideas on how to connect with Beltane are insightful & inspiring. I'm going to get up at sunrise for a walk & then watch the Wicker Man!!. I will look forward to your next upload x
Loved this one! The only thing I would say is that "Wicker Man" is NOT a good movie for people to see if thinking of Beltane. It is a good film mind you I like it greatly! But it does depict pagans as awful people that are dishonest and kill a Christian man that was trying to do his job and do the right thing! Gives the idea that those that celebrate pagan ways are bad people! I know Christians killed pagans but for pagans to kill them still is not a good thing either. It is a horror film so it works as you need horror in it, and well the great C.L. would do nothing less, but many I have found do not see that aspect and just see what I mentioned above. But did really love this vid!
Thanks so much! I understand where you’re coming from regarding The Wicker Man. It’s controversial in its depiction of, like you say, the killing of a Christian by Pagans. Having said that, I was active in Wicker Man research/fandom for many years and have met countless pagans who, apart from the ending, find the film to be an otherwise sympathetic portrayal of pagan practices. It’s also a film that many in the magical community, at least in my experience, hold in high regard. I also think you’re right about the horror imperative perhaps requiring the shock ending. That’s why I mentioned only the fertility ritualistic parts of the film. I don’t think for one minute that the makers of the film were out to depict pagans in a negative light. In fact, over the years they’ve expressed an interest in and respect for paganism. Thanks for your interesting comment.

It's a story of the clash of different worlds & attitudes. Cult classic!
