We started a new back to school tradition - homeschool slippers! We also stagger our start dates for certain subjects, PE and electives, to build our new school year routine and momentum.
I was terrified when I started as well. Satan kept putting a lot of doubt in my mind. I had to push through that first year. We had happy moments and days of tears by us all. We just started our 6th year homeschooling! We made it and I know you can as well. Praying for you ❤

We start year 5 on Monday, and year 1 was able to start because of the Lords strong conviction, and the wisdom I’ve found here over the years. I am so thankful for you and all this content you’ve made over the years to help us moms who have no examples feel like homeschooling is possible for me too!
We stagger our relaunch back into school rhythms! Individual subjects first for 2 weeks and then group subjects for my middles and littles get added! Helps me not feel too overwhelmed initially! I’ve got 8 school-aged, plus a PK5, toddler, and one year old this year! It’s a wild ride!
Thank you Ashley, for another great video. All those tips you have given,were great points. Only issues I have,as a special need single mom,scheduled can change at any moment,during home school. I think those tips are fantastic, for none special needs families. But I do agree with you,to get a better day jump off your home school year,schedules need to be clear,but like I said,not that easy,for special needs families.
I can’t possibly speak to every families unique situations, if I tried I’d never be able to share any advice or anything. Working families, moms with infants, moms with 1 child, moms with 10 children, the list of unique circumstances is endless. As with all things take what I share and use what works for you and leave what doesn’t ☺️ I can’t speak to special needs and I never try because that’s something I haven’t lived.

Down for the count already on a few. 😫 We were hit by Hurricane Beryl: no more garage, out of electricity, rescheduled dental appointments, etc. We started Monday… our lessons worked out, but the house is more disarray than I’d like. 😂 But, it’ll come together eventually.

These are all great tips. I also change the sleep schedule a week before. My kid has loved using night zoo keeper which reminds me he needs to practice logging in on his own 😎.

I was eeing that for 3th grade math with the videos and online grading, it was less than $100. I just want to be sure beforehand. For so I then have to order the textbooks seperate or something like that? I'm looking into 4th andn7th grade 🙏🙏🤗
I started homeschooling last December. The curriculum was online and started the whole 9th grade over. Needless to say we didn't get finish. I have had some time to research this time around. I don't want to do the same curriculum, even though I'm not sure what we are going to do. Tomorrow should be his first day for 10th grade. I'm his grandma and it's just the two of us. I'm retired on disability so I need something he can do mainly on his own while I rest. He is very smart but has ADHD, dsylexia and dsygraphia. If anyone has any suggestions I would really appreciate it.
Are there any co-ops you could join? Otherwise for what you’re looking for I’d go with BJU press homeschool. Buy the entire grade level package and then he can do each class on his own with the teacher video instructing. It’s very hard to have a hands off approach to homeschooling with kids who have learning challenges so I’d also make sure you’re keeping up with his progress. I have curriculum playlists to show what I chose for my kids in that grade but I definitely was teaching them, not a hands “off mainly on their own kind of thing”
