I like the music, the theme of the movie, the ones who noticed it, must agree with me. 05:44 This part of the song is in the wrong time. It was to have played in this part. 01:40 To stay in Sicronia, the standard music that neither the previous ones, the movie was great. who likes the soundtrack even that was a sin.
Even though the film is definitely the low point of the saga (poor dialogues, disregard of continuum of the established universe, underwhelming use of returning characters, too short, unnecessary scenes of forced humor), the end credits music is definitely on equal footing with Zimmer's work.
Listening to that soundtrack makes me sad, it reminds me that this movie could have been good with good writting, original story and characters, a direct sequel to On Stranger Tides, respect of the lore of the franchise without ruining anything, and the real Captain Jack Sparrow we knew in the previous movies (not a drunk useless not funny idiot like in this movie)... Well, Pirates of the Caribbean : Dead Men Tell No Tales is absolutely garbage...
That Drum part of the soundtrack is the I've Come With the Butcher's Bill soundtrack when the Black Pearl and that British ship were getting ready for a fight before the British ship was cut in half by the silent Mary
Hell fucking no... in this fifth movie Jack Sparrow is nothing more than a drunk useless not funny idiot, there is no Jack Sparrow typical badass moment like when he's messing with his entourage because he has a way bigger vocabulary than everyone else (now that motherfucker doesn't even know what an astronaumer is), he never has a plan, he's litteraly doing nothing to defeat Salazar (do you remember these fucking scenes whene a bird take a poop on his shoulder, or when he falls on pig's shit, or when he fucking exchange his compass for a bottle "cAn I pLeAsE hAvE a DrInK pLeAsE"). The whorologist (she doesn't even deserve her name to be pronounced) is just the bitch of service, the story between Henry and Will is just the same that Will and Bootstrap in the trilogy but this does'nt make any sense because Will is not supposed to have fucking shellfish and crustaceans on his face because whe know in the post credit scene of At World's End that he's doing his duty (transport the souls of those who died at sea to the other side, the after life actually) because he hasn't any shellfish or crustaceans on his face and this scene takes place at the same moment that the first scene of Dead Men Tell No Shit. When Henry arrives on the Flying Deutschman, the ship is under water that means that Will is transporting the deads to the after life right now, so he's not supposed to have all that shit on his face. But now he's free, his son released him from the Deutschman... so who the fuck is gonna transport the dead now ??? Not Davy Jones because his resurrection doesn't make any fucking sense. How the hell breaking all the curses of the sea can ressurect someone ? Jones died because someone stabbed his fucking heart, that's all. And why the fuck is he still in tentacule form, ALL THE CURSES OF THE SEA HAVE BEEN BROKE !!! And so he's in tentacule form but he can step on land !?!?!? (Elizabeth and Will were sleeping in a house on a mountain)... Anyway, the deads are stucked between worlds now ! And the fucking Trident of Poseidon (so Calypso is not the fucking godess of the fucking ocean anymore !?) is just a troll, it supposed to be the strongest weapon of the sea but when Salazar (a poor shitty version of Davy Jones and Cutler Beckett combined together) try to kill Jack with it, it can't pass trought a fucking book !? A book is stronger than a mythical weapon that every body is talking about. And Henry succeeded to break that fucking Trident with a simple sword !? And when Salazar has the Trident he's just tossing water to Jack, that's so fucking ridiculous that is become actually funny. Barbossa has just become a pussy who immediatly surrender to Salazar when he discover than he's coming. Did he fucking surrender to Beckett and Jones when they were hunting him and the pirates in At World's End ? No ! Because he was the most badass pirate ever, and by the way Beckett and Jones were way bigger menaces than this fucking Salazar. So Barbossa has a daughter now ? The perfect way to completely destroy Barbossa's charisma. How can you make a movie with Hector Barbossa without a scene of him laughing and yelling at his crew ready to fight ? That mother fucker just died falling in water with Beckett's theme at the background (they didn't even create a fucking theme espiecelly for his death). He does a stupid sacrifice to kill a stupid vilain to save a stupid bitch while the stupid version of Jack could totally shoot Salazar because he has 2 fucking pistols on him during the entire fucking movie. And Jack's backstory is absolutely wrong, his fucking captain didn't give him the compass, Jack stole it from Tia Dalma/Calypso in Dead Man's Chest, she said it herself. And he didn't become a pirate captain just like that, Beckett ordered him to transport a cargo for him when he was in The East Indian Treading Company in his youngness, but when he found out that the cargo was slaves he choosed to liberate it because "people aren't cargo mate". He became a pirate because he was a good man. Then Beckett marked Jack's arm with the letter "p" symbol of piracy and betrayal and he burned Jack's ship called the Wicked Wench. But Davy Jones arrived and bringed his ship from the deppth for Jack, that's why he has a debt to pay in Dead Man's Chest. So when the ship became full dark, Jack choosed to call her the Black Pearl. This story is from an extended/deleted scene of At World's End : th-cam.com/video/X3I0FF2i_MA/w-d-xo.html And ho, yes... I almost forgot one of the worst scene I've ever seen in a movie ever : The Wedding... It comes out from absolutely nowhere for absolutely no reason. "Hello Jack, marry my sister or I kill you" "lol she's fat, lol she's ugly, lol she's spitting on the ground, lol she has skins problems" And hahaha, Elizabeth Swann, she has no line, no quote, and wearing a fucking dress again like she was nothing more than the Gouvernor's daughter again. Ever heard about the Pirates King ???
I like this soundtrack the least of all the Pirates movies. It comes over as cheap because they reuse a lot of songs and the new part they added just plain sucks.
Boring action, forced humor, no pirate vs pirate or ship vs ship battles, story was a slog to get through, and it wasn't even fun. I don't expect the film franchise to be Oscar worthy but they should AT LEAST make it fun.
