- WE DO STUPID THINGS IN THIS VIDEO SO YOU DON'T HAVE TO
VIEWER INTELLIGENCE IS ADVISED
We shot this in late 2019, to be released for Weird Al's birthday. We had no idea this song would become so relevant when we made it. Does that make it a cursed video? Maybe. Is it the ring? Guess we'll find out.
Song written by "Weird Al" Yankovic
Performed by Cybertronic Spree

Wow! You got Daniel Radcliffe to be in your video?
His stage name is Harry Potter 🙄
That last Weird Al impersonator was THE WORST one yet.
Wasn't even wearing glasses or had a mustache! What a jerk!
@@aaronloughner1617 what a poser. Can't even get the details right
Does anyone say poser nowadays?
@@firepuppies4086 usually Posers are the ones who call people posers
@@AlexJonesGaming sounds about right
Wasn't the worst though :D :D
I love it when shockwave killed the bumble
How did Al's love letter to Devo turn into the biggest love letter ever to AL himself??
soundwave is lore-accurate
"Stick your head in a microwave and get yourself a tan."
Always get a kick out of that line...
OMG I just realized the shot where Megatron is holding Hot Rod at 2:21 is the scene where Hot Rod interferes with Optimus Prime's fight with Megatron and Optimus ends up getting killed...

Al's cameo at the end just made me break out laughing.
Bah-weep-Graaaaagnah wheep ni ni bong!!!!!
I was thinking, "What a great tribute to Weird Al!" Then as the video ends, and I scream!
I was going to say this was a terrific tribute to Weird Al...
...and then Weird Al showed up.
Which made it even better
@@stinkywhizzleteats3673 Your reply made me...Happy.
Ok that cameo in the end was the cherry on top!
Weird Al is such an incredible person. I love that he was involved in this. I'm reminded that you guys exist every few years, and it always makes me happy to see someone getting the most out of life in the most absurd ways possible.
Yeah, as I was watching the video, I was thinking to myself, "Man, I sure hope Weird Al has seen this!"
It's probably safe to say that he has. :D
i cant belive that guy named michal jackson was stealing weird al music, al was in the right when he beat down doors with a basball bat, true story
he's just THAT awesome
This is delightful.
I found an Arlo!!!!
Love your stuff bud
Arlo’s a TF fan?
Glad you enjoyed it!
I’m so happy Arlo’s likes transformers!
It’s even better since Weird Al approves this. You guys really have The Touch.
With all the look-alikes throughout, I wasn't expecting to see the real one appear at the end. 😆
Had to tap the entire Weird Al Cinematic Universe \m/

@@Cyril29a We stand corrected!
@@TheCybertronicSpree It isn't a correction it is a contribution! Keep on rocking in the Spree World!
The whole time I’m watching and enjoying this, I’m thinking, “I wonder if Al has seen this and what he thinks about it.” Didn’t actually expect to see him in the video! Awesome!
Oh man, I thought these were real creators, but it turns out they were a bunch of bots.
This video is quite possibly the only good thing about 2020.
Well done, bots.
Thanks Ryan! We truly hope it's not the only good thing 2020 throws up haha Servos crossed!
Look up "We're All Doomed" with Weird Al and "Dumpster Fire" and you'll add them to the Only Thing Good in 2020 List. 😂
🤘🤠
I mean, Bill and Ted 3 came out this year too, so there's that.
@@balgus82 Wyld Stallyns rule!
Next month, the animaniacs reboot is releasing
That was actually an incredibly faithful unicron costume
I love how much effort they put in a full bumblebee costume just to have him on screen for like 3 seconds, that’s amazing
Bumblebee is in a number of their videos... Check em out 😃
Megatron singing War pigs would be epic!
Even without the fun of the costumes that makes them stand out and highly entertaining, this band is highly talented and would be worth every penny to see live. You guys pick me right up after a long day.
What costumes?
There's no costumes dude. Just like gwar isn't in costume either. They're aliens, gracing us with their presence
I almost feel that they could’ve gotten the actual Weird Al to be in this. I bet he would’ve done it.
You didn't watch until the end.
@@mtfloyd35 I really didn’t. Oh my hell.
good to see Cup and hot-rod reunited
Weird Al has been long-overdue for a love letter like this!
Thanks! We agree!
So many excellent references to Al's other videos. Great stuff.
Glad you enjoyed it
I am amazed by how many scenes from WierdAls ideas and movies are in this ideo
OMG! This is amazing. So many references, Amish Paradise, First Wolrd Problems, Foil, Jurassic Park, Word Crimes, Living with a Hernia, Like a Surgeon, I Lost on Jeopardy, etc... I was all the clip thinking: "Someone has to send this to Yankovic". And then... That final. Blowed my mind! Hahaha, I love you guys, thanks to make me smile!
Hahaha we had a lot of fun with it. Thanks for the support \m/
Haha I was thinking the same thing! Haha such an awesome video and so glad it got the parody kings blessing himself!
To get the blessing of the master himself is the ultimate recognition
I love that they used Grimlock for the Jurassic Park scene too.
Wow I didn't even notice half of them. I did still notice a bunch though.
Just when I thought this song couldn’t DEVOlve any further...
I’m crying! This is the best kind of stupid!
~Quality~
Im sitting here listening to this gem while scrolling through the comments getting choked up for some reason and I see im not the only one emotional about this song. Its always been one of my favorite weird al songs from one of my favorite movies of my childhood
Me while watching: "I hope Weird Al sees this! I'd love to see his reaction!"
Me after the ending: "Oh."
I can't believe you bots got the REAL Weird Alan Smithee to direct this clip! That's awesome! And the clip is just so much fun... thanks for this gift, mechs and femmes.
Glad you enjoyed it!
That name was one more "inside joke." "Alan Smithee" has directed several films from 1968 to 2000, but he does not and never existed. It was a 'placeholder' name for a director who did not want his name on the film. There was a mocumentary about the practice done in 1997, "An Alan Smithee Film: Burn, Holywood, Burn," but the director hated the final cut so much the film got Alan Smithee'd itself, which was such high levels of irony that the name was officially retired three years later.
@@andrewdreasler428 Kinda shows that Hollywood people dont have a sense of humor.
My favorite Alan Smithee movie is the TV version of DUNE ... although I can understand why Lynch didnt want to be associated with it, but then they didnt have the options from today and had to re-use several clips within the movie because there were no others.
I'm just going to say what we're all thinking. Whoever the girl that plays Arcee is just incredible. She's obviously fit under that costume, she plays the keyboard, she's an excellent singer, and even if for some reason she doesn't actually love Transformers, she's cool enough to dress up like one and perform in a band and play a bunch of "geek" music. Honestly I don't care what she looks like under that mask, in my opinion she's pretty much the perfect woman.
As someone who grew up in the 80s and 90s, this is the perfect mix of Transformers soundtrack and weird Al, my 9 year old self is freaking out. You guys are the best!!!
Glad you enjoyed it!
an excellent cover. and the fact you got al himself to cameo just made this even better.
I've had a hell of a good time listening to the album, and to finally see the video makes me happy. The actual Al being in the video seals the whole thing with a beautiful little bow. Excellent work guys. Thanks for making the purchase more than worth it.
Thanks for the praise RagnarTheGrey. We had a blast making it \m/
2:38 so which one is he? They Al look the same!
Weird Alan Smithee?
.......
This needs to be a thing.
@@TheRealNormanBates “Alan Smithee” is a name applied to individuals who work on a production who no longer wants or do not intend to be associated with the production. Here it’s used as a joke.

OMG OMG OMG. So many Weird Al things. So much density. This might be _too_ good!

Thanks Dr. Zentner!
I was born waaaaaay earlier than that (early enough to buy all of the ALbums when they first were released) and this speaks to me as well.
@@themoviedealers Glad you enjoyed it!
I was born in 1969, and my first exposure to Weird Al was my dad's single of Another One Rides The Bus. Loved him since then. Love The Cybertronic Spree more recently!
I was 15 in 1980 and this fills me with Squee.

This means something. This is important.
3:38 The correct response for meeting Weird Al.
Transformers referencing Weird Al referencing Devo?! My head asplode.
Even more head asploe, this song was featured in the 80s Transformers movie.
The entire time I kept thinking someone needs to show Weird Al this video. Epic ending. Bravo.
I'm just watching this for the umpteenth time in the last couple years, and I just realized that I never said that this cover FUCKING RULES.
Edit: wtf you guys put out an album last year?! Sweet.
As someone who grew up on Wierd Al and Transformers I can't help but grin and embrace some nostalgic tears watching this.
This is all things good
You even got Weird Al at the end, this is perfection.
Thanks!
As a 44 year old lifetime fan of Weird Al, I fully approve and this is amazing, especially dressed as my beloved Gen1 Transformers!!!!!!!!!!
Never knew I needed you guys to open up for Weird Al before this video. Maybe putting it out into the universe will make it happen someday
All those lookalikes, they’re unstoppable, and they’re everywhere!
That was hilarious. The video came at just the right time.
If nothing else, we're about timing lol
Just got a ticket for the Dec. 11th show, super hyped!
Thanks for the support!
All throughout the video, I was thinking "what I wouldn't give to see Weird Al's expression when he first watches this."
Then he showed up. I have no words. This is the most awesome thing I have seen in a LONG time.
Thank you for doing this. Thank you for being you!
Glad you enjoyed it!
Sweet mother of Primus!
The gods just spoke to me!
This video is “More than meets the eye!!”
This video put a stupid grin on my face the whole time. The level of energy and enthusiasm is apparent in every frame. Thank you for making 2020 just that little bit more bearable.
LOVE the ending....LOL!!!
Such a loving and delightful tribute to Devo.
I love you guys even more, for this.
That guy on the bed sure looks like Daniel Radcliffe, doesn't he?
I was simultaneously expecting the cameo and surprised by it.
0:30 Just noticed shockwave frikken murdered bumblebee here XD
I'm so mad at Covid for ruining my chance to see you guys hit Utah this year.
We'll be back. What's important is getting back on track \m/
Best cameo ending ever!
IT WAS BLOODY AMAZING! WAY TO GO BOTS!
When Weird Al made Dare to be Stupid, he made is with the idea of it being a parody and/or homage to Devo's entire style and song style, rather than a specific song.
I look at this video and I see it being a parody/homage of Weird Al, and that's just absolutely perfect.
The costumes, performance, it's all amazing
Thanks!
I see new things every time I watch it!
Btw, I am so thrilled Weird Al is finally getting some of the major cred he deserves. Excellent tribute.
Al’s blessing says it all...
Home run, Spree!
You guys have too many great covers to have them NOT be on Apple Music 😢 I need this and “Nothin’s Gonna Stand In Our Way” on my playlist
this is more awesome than Randy Savage and Mr.T driving a DeLorean to take She-Ra and Jem to a taping of American Gladiators hosted by Max Headroom
This is AMAZING! I can't believe you got the man himself to cameo! 😁 You bots gotta promise to play this when you come back to Cleveland, seeing as how it wasn't on the set list last year. 😭
Challenge accepted \m/
Yes, this....please.....I need to hear this in the bay area, California as well. I'll love you forever and first of energon drinks are on me!
Covering a Weird Al original. Meta AF.
Is it meta AF squared if Weird Al is also in his own cover too?
@@TheCybertronicSpree Not sure if that makes it Meta AFAF or Meta AAF or Meta AFF but this goes deeper than anyone could have possibly fathomed...
So cool that you got him to show up at the end!
I'm a huge movie buff and that end credit was awesome! A.S. to the rescue of any questionable production.
Whoever does their videos and choreography is just on point. You never expect this kinda detail with people in full body costumes. I hope to see you see live someday Cybertronic Spree!
Can you imagine the pitch meeting to Weird Al? "You dress like Transformers...from the 80's...but you do cover music...and you're not on any drugs while doing this? Ok, I'm in, when do we start?"
