@@justinkedgetor5949 welll the 5.3 tank is the m4a3e2, the jumbo which has 100mm of armor on the front plate and 76mm on the side plates. As well as up to 140mm of transmission housing protection on the thickest part. and the 6.0 is the m4a3e2 with the 76mm gun. the real fact why the jumbos are so high is because german players see a sherman, don't realize it's a jumbo and freakout when they can't pen it and complain on the forums instead of aiming for the weak as shit mg port :) hope that answers it EDIT: Thought he meant the jumbo, not the m4a2 76 (W), tbf they're both 5.3 lol

It's disconcerting to hear something small and far away as being pretty loud, so you assume you hear what's around you, and then realize a Tiger II was climbing a hill next to you with its engine (presumably) roaring but all you heard was faint track squeaking.
What i think is war thunder have change something ,most the time i can hear enemy tank is the one my front and turret faceing ,but it the enemy tank at back mostly will make no sound
I just need to address this, it pained me to the core, when fighting the flak truck, just get its ammo in the box at its rear, it`s a one-shot, PLUS u get a cool little explosion
There is definitely something buggy about the smoke clouds as demonstrated in this video. Repeatedly I have been killed by tanks engulfed in smoke where I can't see them but clearly they see me. It happens too often to be random.
The tiger player completely ignoring his fellow puma dying literally right next to him is the perfect display of the teammates you get at German 5.3-6.7
Funny you say about the sound problems, I have had multiple Jagdpanthers and tigers sneak up on me and haven’t heard them. Can still hear a friendly m18 from 4km away though.
Agreed, sound wasn't a problem a few releases back, then they "fixed it" and now sound effects are often missing. So listening for enemies is not reliable. In gunsight view I have many times been hit and critted and there was no audio cue anything happened. Gaijin keeps ignoring core issues in favor of adding new content, and breaks as much as it fixes in each of their "it's fixed" patches. 😀
Reminder that The Chi-to is the worst nightmare for this Sherman. 5:48 yep, teammate died near him, yet he didn't even care about it. Just continue his path to get clapped.
As amusing as the smoke moment was, this was a genuine strategy Allied tank crews used in Normandy against the Germans! Some Sherman tank commanders would prefer having a smoke shell ready to go so that when they spotted a Tiger they could smoke it up rather than risk not penning its armour. Then they could either advance to flank or pull back and report its position to artillery.
I don't know if you'll see this comment but a tip for killing the flak bus. The amo storage is completely exposed in the box on the vary back of it. If you shoot that 99% of the time it's an ammunition explosion.

The smoke is probably rendered client side. If so, it’d be the same issue that Rainbow Six has with its smoke and gas.
