Hi, I'm watching this from New Zealand. I I try and watch any n every update on this horrific crime ever since I got to know about it through tikto it is absolutely heartbreaking. I keep thinking of the terror that poor girl went through. And I can't imagine what her parents must be going through. These doctors fighting for justice n fighting for the most basic need of a safe work place is admirable to sau the least. They are doing to not only for them but for future generations. I salute them n their bravery. Keep fighting my dear bacho we stand with you even if it's from across the world. Your fight is not going unnoticed

Dear Dr Debashish Halder, I don't know whether this msg will ever reach out to you but given the fact that this interview was carried out by an esteemed news agency like The Indian Express I hope you, the participants, will surely watch the video and might scroll down the comments section too! I am a non Bengali residing outside of WB but like millions of others, I too was drawn to this sensational incident and have been closely monitoring the developments right from your protest stage to the proceedings at the apex court. As your friend I have few suggestions. It's clear today that due to the inexperience of the junior doctors the state has finally been able to cajole you all and extinguish much of the flames that you all had ignited with an unprecedented passion. Putting out the rest of the fire is just a matter of time as over the last few days your demands have reduced one by one from live streaming to minutes of meeting and finally, as you found out at Nabanna today, not even the minutes are being given anymore! Still, given the fact that you all are novices with zero experience in dealing with one of the most powerful political entities not only in Bengal, but the entire country, your unique protest was highly commendable as it had woken up the large section of the Bengali society who, despite being aware of the pathetic situation, are always in deep slumber. Your movement actually had all the potential to shake up the entire corrupt system and the invisible fingers that played the puppets but nothing much really happened on ground as you all finally caved in! May be the fear of severe retribution after SC withdrew its guarantee for protection dawned on your immature minds. One can't really blame your young, inexperienced minds for that. But you yourself now see that the attitude of the honourable SC has mellowed down after you sent a powerful lawyer at court. If only you had waited just for 24 more hours on 16th September and refused to attend such crucial meeting at a residence and without assurance of live stream or video recording! Believe me, no one could have taken any action against you! It was just a matter of holding your nerves! Anyway, what's past is now past! There are few lessons to be learnt from this entire episode. Please take note if you feel these are relevant!The very first mistake you guys made was to not ask for the resignation of the REAL entity behind everything that happened. When an Education Minister goes behind the bars for corruption in Education system, when a Food Minister goes behind the bars for irregularities in Food Ministry then who do you think you all should have protested from day one for the alleged corruptions in the Health Ministry, the heinous crime in a prominent hospital right at the heart of Kolkata city and the serious lapses and alleged cover ups by the law enforcement as found out by the CBI? Who do you think heads these two ministries? Do the 6 individuals on your 5 point demand list head them? If you think the mysterious events following the horrific crime such as serious lapses in cordoning off the probable crime scene, unnatural delay in fir, autopsy etc, possible destruction of evidences, hurriedly carried out cremation, alleged offer for bribes, hints of massive cover up attempts so on and so forth were due to these 6 individuals solely, then sorry to say you all are living in some fools' paradise. No one in earth would believe that these people on your 5 point demand list, however influential they might be, did it without the blessings and active support or instructions from someone extremely mighty outside. Today when you see for yourselves that all the individuals on your list have been given prize postings with same power of influence at same work place where they were working before and some even not removed at all, you understand that who in reality doesn't want the situation to change at the ground level! It's sad that you people couldn't see who actually was behind this entire episode and never raised any demands against that entity anytime during these 40 days! The entire nation knows who is behind the entire conspiracy, but you guys didn't! That was extremely naive from your part. The second and more serious mistake was to gradually come down from your pre-conditions one by one. The pre conditions about a live streaming, a video recording were extremely justified given the track record of the entity you are dealing with. It's the same entity that had shamelessly rejected the claim made by the parents of your deceased colleague that money was offered. Instead this entity asked for proof literally painting the parents as liars. You guys must have also seen the infamous interview that was carried out by a now politician journalist where the same entity had stormed off the stage terming a college girl maoist when a relevant question was asked! So the demands for a live streaming was very very valid. It was heartbreaking to see that during the meeting at a certain residence, you all, especially Dr Halder almost begged and stated with folded hands that "we don't even want a live stream" as soon as a powerful entity arrived in front of them with farce sense of concern about you all being drenched in the rain! You guys don't have to beg like that to someone who has come to power through votes from common people like you and me! That too you are demanding something that is seriously related to your own safety tomorrow! The extremely poor body language of people like Dr Halder, who are seen screaming like lions in front of the cameras, but become so timid as soon as a certain entity comes in front of them, damages the very spirit of the protest! That's exactly why immediately after your meeting, your demands were shown in front of the national media as "cribs from little children" that had to be dealt with giving lollipops and subsequently the prize postings took place! In spite of the fact that you guys are inexperienced, apolitical etc etc it is advised that never start a protest if you don't have the courage and stamina to pull it through to the very end. All these talks of "we might not have achieved everything but atleast we could shake the system a little bit" is pure delusion! You guys have actually achieved nothing by giving in to the shrewd tactics by the opponent. You had chances of becoming heroes, the history would have remembered you that way but alas you let go a golden opportunity the ramifications of which might be long lasting!!
Its a pity that these young doctors on whom health care of the country depends have to fight for respect and dignity.
This reflects the quality of politics and the level it has stooped.

Great you all planned to.get into work Any thimg too much the whole thing will turn against them as the no of deaths were increasing ....because of lack of Drs and seniors do their work but the no of seniors are less compared to juniors and trainees ..If not politising why did bjp.came in ...I dont know what is done keeping out of duty for so long beong a sacrificial profession jyst like teaching job medical profession is one i feel...The protesting Drs in turn could have gone for duty
