Chris, you don't need to compare yourself to others. You are not 'behind'... there is no master schedule of where you should be and when you should be there. We each have our own path and you are EXACTLY where you need to be right now. What's next, well that is up to you.... Find your passion, and go for it.... Whatever that is.
@ Bill Mattson - Your position is logically thought out except that working in the cruising industry is a young man’s game and it may be time for Mr. Chris to take a different life path. Just one man’s opinion. Thanks.
Hi Chris A word from a nearly 70 yr old who has experienced a lot of life. This is what I’ve learned. Life is mostly quite boring, interspersed with moments of great joy.
Chris As a Mother of a son in the travel industry, I say travel while you CAN. Love following you, ( you know we all wish we could/ would do what you are doing)
My mom always told me that she didn't care what I did in life, as long as I did something that made me happy. Realize that work isn't always going to be 100% awesomeness. But overall, does your job make you happy? That's what's important.
I'm getting ready to start my new career on NCL. I'm so excited. As a recovered drug addict, one thing life has taught me is when you aren't excited, happy and energized, it's time to experience something different. Life is soooo short. Spend non of it on what no longer brings you pleased, joy and hope. Sending you blessings of love, light, and clarity on your new path and adventure. 🎉 thank you❤
I don’t usually comment on TH-cam videos but felt I had to on this occasion. I’m 33 and because of your videos that helped me get to where I am now I’m currently waiting to start my first ever contract on board a ship which hopefully will be within the next month now so age doesn’t matter. Everyone lives different lives so don’t feel because you are not doing things your friends are that you are falling behind. What you are currently doing may be a dream to many people working while traveling the world. All I’d say is always do what makes you happy. If your time has come to an end you want to work onboard then maybe figure out what passions you have and go forward with them weather it be traveling or so on and continue to vlog with TH-cam as you certainly have a passion for that. Good luck in whatever you end up doing and thanks for the many many videos onboard that as I said helped me prepare and get me through the process and what to expect.
Hey Chris! Longtime viewer here and wanted to put my 2 cents in. I could already tell something was a bit off during the first half of the video and it all made sense after watching the second half. Ten years working on cruise contracts is not a trivial amount of time given how "on" the crew needs to be at all times. You do realize that through TH-cam you've built a large fan base and community that will support you no matter what you decide to do right? You have a skill for creating content that will keep even a low attention span person like me watching and that's saying a lot. You are an asset to Royal Caribbean and they would be idiots not to utilize your skill set and charisma in their marketing department. I'm sure you have a lot of contacts within the company after all this time so put some feelers out or call in some favors! In the meantime, take a deep breath, relax, and eat some chocolate cake!
It's funny you say "his youtube community will support him no matter what". That is clearly not true. While this video has above 126k views. His new video's don't reach above 45k. Not enough to make a living, and certainly not the 'youtube community supporting him no matter what'.
I first starting watching your videos during your return to work quarantine videos. Following your travels have enticed me to try cruising myself and I have booked my first RCC, travelling up the Queensland coast next month. You are fabulous ambassador for the cruise industry and for Royal Caribbean. That said, I understand your feelings. The pandemic has not only changed many industries but it has changed us. We have come out the other side with a different perspective on life and what makes us happy. Follow your heart and find the next thing that is going to put the spark back in your eyes. I wish you well.
What you are experiencing in Saint Maarten is exactly what we feel every time we cruise. It’s so cold where we are that is surreal to think people right now are sitting somewhere where it is warm and sunny! Love your videos! Someday we want to meet you in person -your like a rockstar to us!
Oh, Chris, you are a good man. You are not falling behind you are reaching out to your future. In my scenario, I see Chris back home with his friends, opening a travel agency specializing in cruising, buying a house, and starting a family and being with those that you love. Plus, you can cruise anytime you want and bring all of that information back to your travel agency. Having a long-distance relationship cruising on a seven month contract is pretty darn hard. If you were my son, I would be so proud of you and how open you are with your heart. Well this is coming from a great grandma of 79 years old so I’ve been around a while. Keep smiling and being you because you are wonderful.
Working on a ship was one of my best memories but it has a lifespan. Stay true to your heart and do what is best for you in your time. You are talented and charismatic and will be successful shoreside as well.
Hey Chris. It's natural for people's priorities to change over time. There's a saying, "familiarity breeds contempt". Noone can say you have contempt for the role (we can all see, that's not what you're like), while you may have previously been really enthusiastic about the role, and the ships you've been on, it's now familiar, and the novelty is wearing off. With this contract, you have the luxury of time. You don't need to rush into any decisions. While people may make suggestions and offer support, it's your own decision to make. There are no right or wrong decisions. Just... Just sleep on it, and take your time with it.
I feel in our 20’s we have all the answers and energy and social skills that move us along. The 30’s you discover the questions and find some things immature and tiring. You’re evolving and becoming more conscious of the world and people. So normal and maybe a little amped up because you were away for some time your view changes…think about it but you have plenty of time ahead on your path 😊
Hey Chris, it's common to feel you're at a crossroads in your 30's. That's a sign you believe there's more out there for you. That's healthy. My life wouldn't have been nearly as fulfilling as it has been if I would have just settled for the status quo in my early 30's. My life took a major positive direction down the path that has brought me here at about age 36. I believe the best is yet to come for you. Being well-traveled, you'll be far more interesting than many of your peers! 🙂
I am turning 36 this month and Im feeling the same way you are. I appreciate the content and just keep doing what doing and things will all work out in the long run.. Covid changed alot and I feel created alot of self doubt in people. Your not the only one feeling this way Chris just keep being you and keep your head up . Will always continue to support the channel and hopefully get to see you on my upcoming cruise in March on your ship. Stay well be well Ciao Mario
I think what happened after you went home for your break may have changed how you feel about this career, give it time I think the excitement will find you again. You are very good at your job and are a valued employee, we all go through times of doubt. I wish you the best. Loved seeing St. Maarten again, thanks..
You are exactly where you need to be. You’re looking at where you’ve been and weighing options for your future. It’s an ongoing process. I a much, much older than you and have gone through this journey repeatedly. Be confident! You will know!
As I listened to you "ponder" at the end of the video, some of what you're experiencing is probably because you're growing older, perhaps yearning for a family (of course I could be mistaken), and perhaps a bit lonely, despite having all the people - both crew and passengers - around. These are the things you will need to determine as you move through the contract. While you're doing that, continue enjoying what you're doing right now. Having been a Naval Officer, I remember some of these feelings when I was in my early years and based on those feelings, and being a newlywed as I started that career, I made some hard choices. I regret none of it, as my life has played out well. Still married to that "bride" after over 40 years, completed my Naval career in the reserves, and leveraged what I learned while at sea into marvelous career choices ashore. I enjoy your posts so keep your chin up. Your future is bright.
I’m 40 and feel completely lost. Thinking about getting a cruise line job so i can see the world and get paid to do it. I’m single and don’t want to travel myself. So, this seems like the 2nd best option.
I’m 21 and I feel lost as I never went to college and I still feel stuck even when I was in high school I was passionate about archeology but I didn’t do good win high school to get into a college or got any scholarships
I have always loved your vlogs, and I'm so glad you chose to be honest with us. Everyone has lulls in their life, no matter how exciting their job might be. I have ADORED how enthusiastic you have been... you are so much younger than me and I sometimes feel like my life is almost over... I will never have the energy you have, the enthusiasm you have/had. So I have so enjoyed watching your travels and narration. But yeah, life takes people in different directions. I watch some other crew member TH-cam channels, and everyone has a point where living in a tiny little cabin and never having roots planted can be hard. I will continue to watch your videos and I wish you all the best in wherever life takes you
First of all, Chris Wong is a legendary name around RCCL ships! Everyone knows who you are! That's great, now what? Only natural that you feel this way. That means you accomplished your original goals and are ready for new ideas or opportunities ~~ be patient, they will happen. Your current success did not happen accidentally. Your have what it takes Let it happen organically -- it will. Meantime enjoy the beaches!
I have to say, that I have been waiting impatiently for your next video. Been checking your vlog everyday. Things have changed so much on cruise ships, I figured Royal Caribbean has been working your butt off. Total understand your enthusiasm for the job has ebbed. So many new cruise employees hired lately, so much more expected of them. I can feel the difference every time I cruise. I think you were smart to pick a ship that takes you to Europe. New ports, new experiences, I hope you find a happy reset when you get to the Mediterranean. Currently, you're feeling the constraints of working while still trying to embrace the opportunity to explore the places you visit. Tough balance, the "I have to get back to the ship" mentality, means you can't really relax in port. FOMO should be the last worry on your mind. You're done more in your 30's than most people do in a lifetime. Happiness is a choice, not a destination.
I just found your channel like last week, wherever your life takes you I’m sticking around to watch you achieve greatness. I don’t watch your videos because you’re on a ship, I watch them because you’re the highlight of these videos and you make them special. Keep on keeping on brother you’ll figure this all out. Just as I am myself.
I love how genuine and honest you are. I just recently found your channel as I returned from a cruise a few weeks ago and was curious about the life of a cruise employee. You are young and have a bright future ahead of you! Whether you stay with your role on the ship or leave completely and “settle down,” it’s pretty evident you will be successful and happy. Clearly you’re very bright and you’re willing to take chances. You’ve got this, whatever you decide to do! Can’t wait to hear what’s up next for you. Prayers for your discernment.
Hi, Chris. Don't be discouraged by your current feelings. It's called growing up and moving on. When we're young, some of us look for adventure-- your cruising career. Every new experience was exciting. Now that you have been working in the industry for so long, it's hard to find a new experience. This is very normal. I have always told my kids to keep an open mind, think about the life you want, where you want to live, what career interests you, and most importantly, what type of schedule do you want: days, nights, no weekends, in an office, outside or a combo of both. I'm sure the new direction will bring the adventure back. Day to day life on land can be exciting too. Good luck in whatever you choose!!
I have brain cancer and when I got my diagnosis, that shook me to the core. Go do what ever makes you happy, don’t wait, go do what you want now never know when you life change for the worse and have months to live.
The fig tree health in Brooklyn NY. Dr.Sebi and MAA own the store and have healed many. I even grab medicine for myself and aunts sciatica. Please research and give them a call with questions.
Enjoyed your video! I like that you're being truthful about the way you feel at this point in your life about being a crew member. I don't think it's negative at all. It's totally ok that you don't feel as enthusiastic as you did when you first joined. Everybody's different and has a different perspective. You still provide a different and interesting perspective, and I wish I could travel, see the world, and experience what you have! Thank you for all the videos!
Chris, as a former crewmember with 18 years on board I tell you that I'm sure that I wouldn't have made it though the pandemic, wearing mask and with no shore leave during the contract. I deeple admire all the crewmembers that worked during the hardest time in the cruise industry. Only you know what is better for your future. Grretings and hugs from Chile
Thank you for the wonderful video of Miami and St Martin. I remember how hot it was in St Martin. You are feeling peer pressure because your friends are getting married etc.. I remember when I was your age I was feeling the same. Do what you want to do. I wished I had travel when I was younger. It is always difficult to have an long distance relationship because you are not in contact with them that frequent. Wish you well Chris. Joyce
Sounds like you are ready for a change/something new. That’s a scary and exciting time. This isn’t the first video where you have talked about wondering if this is for you anymore. I think your heart and your own words will guide you. I sure love listening to your videos at sea and will miss them. Do what is best for you in this next season of life.
Hey Chris. As others have said, you are exactly where you should be at this point in your life. Put things in perspective. You are helping people at work as a Casino Host and you are helping people on here. Everyone on here and on the cruise you work on is on their own journey assigned by the Lord. I compare myself sometimes too and I feel down, because I don't have kids and other do. Please don't compare yourself to others. Think about what you GET to do each day instead of what you HAVE to do. You are showing future and present guests how safe RCCL is on their ships. You are showing them St. Maarten, St. Thomas, Miami, Alaska - some places some people may never get to travel to. You are a blessing to many people. Continue to think positively and have fun! Remember this, the devil is always trying to be someone down and making them feel bad or negatively. Think POSITIVE.
I really admire you and what you do. It seems like you’ve had some depression that is hard to break out of. I’ve been there. When the passion for things leaves, it’s hard to find where it will come back again. I hope you find it. You did ask for “advice,” and I don’t want to steal anyone’s epiphany, but if Royal offers any kinds of counseling services for crew, that may be an option. There are also online options you can use when you’re in port, etc. It’s always a journey through the valleys, and it’s easy to sit and just let the fog settle over. Moving out of it is a hard choice and many are rooting for you.
All the people that are having a career, settling down, buying a house and having kids look at you and think how lucky you are to have the freedom to travel and see lots of the world and not be trapped with car payments, rent and having to take care of others. It is normal for you to get tired of things after 10 years. I did the M-F Desk job career, at first it was great, I enjoyed it, but after years it was just work. Take it from somebody that is older, enjoy your youth while you can. Being a grown up is highly over rated.
Hi Chris, Just stumbled upon your channel for the first time...I have changed my career on more than one occasion and never regretted the change... We all need that. I became a nurse at 40 years old and had a wonderful career before and after. Nothing wrong with stepping out of your comfort zone to figure it out. You can always go back.
Great video again. I spent 20 years in the US Navy and have the same kind of port memories. First time in Hawaii, Philippines, Japan, Caribbean, Europe, etc. Hang in there shipmate!!
Hey Chris, thanks for your honest words in the end of the video, i also worked for around seven years on board as a production singer and did my last contract last year, I agree with everything you’ve said and I had the same feeling, this year I’m not planning to embark, but I can’t say that I will never got back, because I’ve had the best seven years of my life on board and I would do everything again. Good luck for you and thanks for open your heart in front of a camera here on TH-cam, it’s very brave. Greetings and all the best!
You have a heart of gold. As disappointingly cliche as it may sound, this is the true foundation for success - in many forms - in the long game of life. Despite so much of the advice to the contrary, it’s not only okay to make comparisons from time to time, it can also be very beneficial. Analogous to the fixation and hype around the evils vs. not acknowledging the benefits of social media scale, velocity, and influence. And not being a hypocrite about the profound benefits of perspective, which fundamentally require making thorough comparisons. You’ve already accomplished quite a bit in your young life; in depth, breadth, and uniqueness. And look at the outpouring of love in these comments! That bedrock will never be taken away from you. Keep up this great attitude around humility, productively questioning everything, contribution … and gratitude.
You should be very fortunate that you have a great opportunity to travel and see the world. You made that choice and you made that decision to be part of you. The TH-cam channel that you had grown is based on your cruise and the experience of sharing it with other people and giving them ideas. Things that you're talking about seems to be very uncertain of what you want to do and you had forgotten in the things that you've accomplished. If you're at that age and time that you feel that there's things that need to be done just remember the consequences of the things that you may lose on your subscribers or just in general people are not going to seem to be interested in anything that you do because they're interested in what you do now. That's what gives you your base and the excitements of the things that you do
Chris I'm one of those people that wants to do what you do, but it's okay to feel how you're feeling. It could just be a sign that you're ready for a new chapter in life, and things will be even more amazing than they were before.
We did Symphony in July! Excellent show in the Aqua Theatre, Hairspray in the theatre. Everything was wonderful, but then again, we love Royal! Hope to meet you someday onboard a Royal ship!
Being in the service industry can be VERY difficult. You may have a new phase in your life coming up. Your ideas about buying a house and having a family sound very exciting! We’ll be here cheering you on!
Chris, I've heard you mention youtube quite a few times and the only thing I would caution you about - if you quit working on cruise ships and shift the focus of the channel, there is a high likelihood your channel will tank, at least for a bit. I'm sure you've already thought about that though. I enjoy the vlogs, thanks for making them.
Great video! You are very good at doing this because you are thoughtful & genuine. I hope you find what made you happy in the pre-COVID days. Don’t be so hard on yourself … you are still young and you will find another girl!! Think of the European ports you were looking forward to. Best wishes
Hi Chis, im from México, I love all your momentos on TH-cam. You had been recently in experiencies that change your life, probably is why you feel like this in this moment. Let the weeks passes and then your thoughts will be much much clear and your feelings too. Dont run, only walk. Only in this moment.
You are right where you are meant to be. The feelings are different cause you aren’t working for a significant other at home. Don’t blame your job for the break-up. Your Princess could be around the next corner. Everything happens for a reason & you have us subscribers supporting you! YOLO 🎉❤
Chris, you are so amazing at whatever you do! I know you said you were not looking for a promotion but maybe you should research your options. The main headquarters for RCCL in Miami may have some kind of position where your entertainment skills would be perfect. In the meantime, make some contacts in the travel industry if you think it may be your next step.
Chris PLEASE keep traveling as you are young..I am 70 yrs old and wish I had your job when I was young.. You provide so much information and value to us travelers.. you bring so much energy and happiness to cruising..You just need to find you a women again to share your adventures of cruising..Myself and our group will be sailing with you this year once I know your schedule..
Hey Chris! It was so nice meeting you and chatting last week. If you're feeling that way about working onboard, maybe that chapter of your life is over. You can always go back to it if you change your mind! I was a radio DJ and never thought of want to do anything else. But I eventually became a bit disillusioned, and moved on. My new career is so amazing - I'm sure what you do next still be, too!
Not whining or "spoiled brat"-on the contrary sounds like a maturation process and reevaluation of what brings you true joy! love the vlogs and hope you find what your next passion is that gives you joy
Chris , you are awesome and your channel is amazing. I enjoy watching your vlogs. Time changes everything, and whatever you decide to do, whether it is continue on as a crew member as well as vlog or travel as a passenger and vlog, I am quite sure that you will put a lot of thought in it and decide what will be best for you and the years to come. I am sure that you will also have the support of all that care for you. You will get your JOY back. Take care and see you on the next video.
Chris, the questions and doubt you shared are something most of us experience (multiple times) in life. I wish there was a Magic Eight Ball that we could ask for answers! LOL I'm 59yrs old and recently retired. There have been many times I questioned "my place" ! Your life experiences are something most dream of and you will look fondly back on. Trust your instincts and follow your heart. You will find "success" in happiness.
Chris loving your content bro , no need to compare yourselfs your an amazing guy who has got me Intrigued, I plan on getting over my PTSD from s previous cruise and then fr there book a cruise your an amazing guy and we're all proud of you my guy! Thank you for all your hard work I've been following you since lockdown and I love your content your getting better each time but don't compare yourself to pre pandemic stuff, you'll find the love for it again it's hard but it's there, chin up bro you got this!
I have been a crew member for a major airline for over 28 years. Things were different pre-pandemic and have seen the changes. The traveling aspect of the job has let me see places I thought I would never see . I wouldn’t change it for the world. Although, airline crew and ship crew are completely different, i love what i do. Bringing people together!! I also became a content creator on TH-cam and found my niche. I love cruising and began our journey filming our experiences and sharing it with world! We all have our individual paths!! At times, it is best to go with the flow. I feel you are right where you belong at the current moment. When the time comes to make a big move, you will definitely know it. Thanks for your vloggs. Ironically, I fly to UK often, feels like my second home. Take your journeys and make them your greatest life experiences. God bless buddy! Jay and Luis, Bxjourneys 😊
Chris, there is a season for everything. and possibly your season is changing. Change is good and yet unsettling at first. Don’t be afraid to start something new, you’ll probably have a passion for it, once you start. Be encouraged there is more for you in the horizon.
hey. Been watching the video, and yours for several years. If I can be so presumptiious as to suggest, if I were you, I would be looking to join a production company that travels. Maybe you wont get much money but you will learn and it will be a break from what you are doing now, that seems to be old hat for you. I know you like YT, and right now I doubt that Google is even offering new employment, but your experience will certainly be worthwhile for some organization. One thing you need to decide as you go foward, is do you want to be an individual contribuor, or manager., Both tracks are fine, just different. You should also contact RC management now and see what, if anything they might be able to suggest to you. They are a multi billion $$ company and you seem to be someone who has been a valuable member of their team. Whatever you do, look at how you can make this the last tour where you are a casino asst. manager. (Again hope I am not to pesuptious, but you did share so I thought I wouild comment.
A good counselor could help you sort through all your feelings. Just follow your heart and passions and I have no doubt you will succeed. Don't worry about what everybody else is doing. You are not everyone else. Wishing you clarity and much success in future endeavors. Be Happy!
Hello and thanks for your stream and BTW, it sounded at the end of your stream that you have convinced yourself to complete your education and take a different life path other than cruising. Good Luck !
I think its normal to out grow your career. If this is something you truly enjoy, then continue your journey. Life is too short to compare yourself to others. Follow your heart and passions.
Wow you was so excited for this years plan. Do give up on it so soon. Enjoy this tour and then the last half of the year enjoy your travel. It is what you was excited for this year. Be in the here and now and don't worry about what you think you should be doing or have in your life right now. Instead enjoy each day of the here and now. Your alive, your healthy, be happy about all the good things in your life and don't dwell on the bad. Positive vibes.
First time I have seen one of your videos. Your thoughts about life, your honesty - I totally enjoyed. And hey, those thoughts are perfectly normal. You'll continue to have little doubts creep into your head, "Am I doing this right?" and that's normal. There are so many options from which to choose as you go through life. Stay passionate about what you want.
You have a job, that has the potential to make a career for you. As you said, the cruise industry is rapidly changing over the next 10 years. How exciting is that to be a part of the changing process. You can retire with some sort of retirement and pursue a new career. On the other hand you can't predict where TH-cam will be in 10 years or what it will provide to you.
Looks like you have an amazing career. One that I had thought about doing a numbers of years back. But I chose to stay in Las Vegas, Nevada and continue to work as a casino host also. I did love the job. But I can totally relate with you that as time goes by and things change. It is unfortunate that we lose the excitement and will to keep moving forward. After about 17 years, I just could no longer do what I once enjoyed doing every day.
The world is yours Chris! There are many options out there for you to recreate yourself. Change in life is good. Take your time and when the time and opportunity are right, make a move.
One of your best videos ever! I loved the honesty in this presentation. Everyone's life course is different. I entered my best workplace (as far as salary and benefits go) at 36, and worked there 30 years. Looking back, if I would have started any earlier, I would not have been ready. Wishing you the best in whatever comes your way!
You where my 1st video i watched about cruising and your the one who made us decide to go with Royal Caribbean. We've gone on 3 so far and going again in March. You've shown us so very much. I'm a fan forever. Maybe one day I will have the pleasure to meet in person. If you decide to choose a different career, I understand. You've been doing this for a long time and I'm sure you may want to start a family one day or find someone special to share everything else with them. Blessings to you whatever and whenever you decide.
Florida weather in the winter months require layers! The best purchase is windbreaker zip off pants to shorts. And just layers with a backpack to put on or take off your layers. Can be 80 f during day and 27f in morning.
It is so nice to see Miami again. I miss causing, I recall when you vlogged about the beginning of the pandemic, that's when I joined your channel. Price for travel had gone up the roof, waiting for the price to get back to normal before I booked another cruise with my daughter
As a mom I think you are doing what was best for you after your break up. Getting up and going back to the cruise industry at that time brought you out of the dumps. If you feel you really have had enough, think about what you would like to do next. There is no book written as to what to do at a certain age. You do a great job at your work, so why not continue until the right next move comes along. I feel a new lady in your life will help you make your next move and put some excitement back into your life. Good Luck. You are a great guy
Yea, @Chris I was on your Next to last 2020 sailing - met you in Casino ! & have Not forgotten you! We had some fun chats- I was one of the #Rudies aboard! Hope to get on Symphony before this contract is over!! Stay Well !!
Chris, ENJOY the journey and not worry about when your getting to the destination. It's natural to wonder If your where your suppose to be or what your missing out on but you'll just drive yourself crazy. LIVE your life .. don't live or compare your life to your friends or families lives everyone's path Is different. I know your greatful for your job and your experiences. Be kind to yourself. Breathe. I'll be okay!
Chris, take this for what its worth. I am a hockey player. Been playing since I was 5 years old. When I was 11 years old I had a coach that told me "no matter what you do in life, when your not having fun anymore, it's time to move on" . I am an adult now, but I always remembered what he told me and I can apply that to many things, not just a sport. A job, a relationship, a hobby....etc.. Why do something if it's not fun?
Thanks for your video, always enjoyable. Your chat at the end was very authentic and your openness is refreshing. I love listening to you talk; enthusiastic, articulate and your pleasant accent all suggest to me you will succeed wherever you land.
Hi Chris, loved this video. I loved seeing St. Maarten. When I was there in 1979 NONE of that was there. I was cruising on the QE2 and it was our first stop. We got off the tender at the shore and walked up a short distance, where a few locals were there selling souvenirs and tours. Amazing to see what it is now. You do sound like you are definitely ready for a new chapter in your life. I don't think it's unusual at your age to be ready for something else. After 10 years you have been here and done this. Now time to move on, using all the experience and ability you have gained from this career. From watching and listening to you I think whether you work for yourself, or someone else you will be a success. ATTITUDE AND ABILITY ARE EVERYTHING and I believe you excel at both. 👍🙂
I totally get you Chris. It's natural for your priorities to change as you get older. You can still travel wihtout working in the cruise industry. Follow your heart dude.
Chris, your feelings just mean it is time to transition. When we have served our purpose in a space, the urge to move on is natural. Best wishes on finding the next thing that brings or lets you express your passion.
Chris, I just discovered your Vlog tonight and have subscribed, watched and liked your videos; it's quite a different perspective for me as someone who has been on 14 cruises in my life. To answer your question on whether you're on the right road...Know that you bring a great perspective to the behind the scenes world of being on the crew of a major cruise line. No one can tell you what you SHOULD do when you're questioning what you might do next in your life and career. Only YOU can decide if your passion is still there to be a crew member and post as a such with your experiences. Having said that, take some time to yourself to meditate on what else you might want to do. You said that all those around you are buying a house and thinking of having kids. Is that for you? Or is what you're great at with your Vlogs good for you? I'm almost 60 and I can tell you that you're life is adventurous. Decide if you want to end the adventure and be regular. As for me and what your endeavors, I'm 100% jealous. I like what you do and I admire your Vlog. Thank you!
For what it's worth, Chris- don't make any hasty decisions - you've been through a rather upsetting time period in your life, what with your relationship ending, the pandemic, the rather shaky re-start to all of us getting back to some degree of normalcy, and the unsettled worldwide conditions at present. I would suggest that you continue doing what you feel you should for at least 6 months to a year, and, then adjust your life accordingly. Perhaps you'll feel much different after a while - a sudden career change at a vulnerable period in your life might not be in yo9ur best interests. Good luck & God Bless!
Well done Chris, thank you for such an honest and enlightening episode… we so very much appreciate all that you do; especially as we board Anthem next Saturday Feb 4 for another run down to the Caribbean. 10 years in is a great time for a moment of reflection and contemplation about the future. Make sure to take adequate time to review all options and life choices that become available ahead 🤔😎. Cheers, James
People and places come and go, your cruise job helped you at the time you needed it. like you said your heading into your 30's, you evolve, your values change, what you want changes. its okay. you have every right to want more, or want different. you will forever have the memories from working on cruises. you deserve more, you deserve to be happy. do you.
Hello Chris, I have watched your videos in the past but I just subscribed / liked your videos. Thanks for providing the insight to the life on the cruise ship. I really enjoy the learning how things work behind the scenes.

We are boarding your ship on 2-18. I ve been following you for a long time looking forward to seeing you and your casino and hope to take a selfie!!!😊
The workouts are called Cross-Fit.
Chris, you don't need to compare yourself to others. You are not 'behind'... there is no master schedule of where you should be and when you should be there. We each have our own path and you are EXACTLY where you need to be right now. What's next, well that is up to you.... Find your passion, and go for it.... Whatever that is.
Well said!
@ Bill Mattson - Your position is logically thought out except that working in the cruising industry is a young man’s game and it may be time for Mr. Chris to take a different life path. Just one man’s opinion. Thanks.
Htggg
@@johnmayerislovee He is a young man. LOL
Very well stated. My thought is the same.
Hi Chris
A word from a nearly 70 yr old who has experienced a lot of life. This is what I’ve learned.
Life is mostly quite boring, interspersed with moments of great joy.
Chris
As a Mother of a son in the travel industry, I say travel while you CAN.
Love following you, ( you know we all wish we could/ would do what you are doing)
100% agree
My mom always told me that she didn't care what I did in life, as long as I did something that made me happy. Realize that work isn't always going to be 100% awesomeness. But overall, does your job make you happy? That's what's important.
What a great mom.
🎉 thank you❤
How is it going now? Are you satisfied?
Hii what position u chose??? R u loving it ? Share ur experience if ur alright there?
I wish you well.
this is the best video. nothing but real. no makeup. no exaggeration. please keep it coming !!
@@garrettjackson1451update
Do it bro
Did you end up doing it? I’m also 40 and feel the same.
@@SonriseNshine No I didn’t
Chris. Thank you for all your hard work, it must not be easy doing a full time job along with all the youtube duties.
I respect the realness because I'm 2 months away from my first contract. I'm glad that this has given you the opportunity to explore new things!
I have brain cancer and when I got my diagnosis, that shook me to the core. Go do what ever makes you happy, don’t wait, go do what you want now never know when you life change for the worse and have months to live.
You okay ❤??

Thank you Chris for your vlogs and the hard work you do on the cruise ships as a crew member
Joyce
Building my experience in the restaurant business to work on a cruise ship as we speak.
Enjoyed the video and keep kicking butt
I feel you bro. This is not the end for you. The best has yet to come.
That's what gives you your base and the excitements of the things that you do
He “shouldn’t anything “ why should you decide how someone else feels.
You sound like an excellent employee, that needs bigger challenges. Good for you.
Great video! You are very good at doing this because you are thoughtful & genuine. I hope you find what made you happy in the pre-COVID days. Don’t be so hard on yourself … you are still young and you will find another girl!! Think of the European ports you were looking forward to. Best wishes
THIS. You will always be thoughtful and genuine, and that will take you far in life. No matter what job or career you choose.
I applied for the on-board IT support team, let's see how it goes ✌🏻
How did it go?
You are right where you are meant to be. The feelings are different cause you aren’t working for a significant other at home. Don’t blame your job for the break-up. Your Princess could be around the next corner. Everything happens for a reason & you have us subscribers supporting you! YOLO 🎉❤
Chris, you are so amazing at whatever you do! I know you said you were not looking for a promotion but maybe you should research your options. The main headquarters for RCCL in Miami may have some kind of position where your entertainment skills would be perfect. In the meantime, make some contacts in the travel industry if you think it may be your next step.
Good advice
Thank you so much for posting the video Chris. It was very informative. Good luck to you my friend.
Congratulations Chris! You are featured in the very first issue of the Club Royale Newsletter! That is tremendous!!!
Good to see you back. Good luck on your new contract.
We were on Symphony 1/15/23 for 8 days. Had a good time. Thanks for your video and the great information. Appreciate your hard work onboard too.
Coming from a new subscriber….I just think you’re maturing. Keep making great videos no matter what you’re doing. They are entertaining.
The world is yours Chris! There are many options out there for you to recreate yourself. Change in life is good. Take your time and when the time and opportunity are right, make a move.
There is a season for everything, follow where your passion takes you. When lived right, every moment in life is beautiful and priceless.
Congrats Chris on 72k subs. Well deserved 👏 cheers from Anaheim Ca
8:05 You looked tired bro. I hope that you all stay safe out there 🙏🏾
It is so nice to see Miami again.
Hi Chris - you are not falling behind. Use what you are feeling now as a launching pad to do whatever you choose to do. DO YOU!
Thank you!
Hope that your experience this round gets better. Have a safe voyage.
Thank you for the ship clips, see you next month!
Great video. Loved seeing clips of the balloon drop, ice show and water show. This could be a commercial for RC! Love your videos.
