Seriously why are you taking a big breeder snapper? They aren’t the best eating. The older snapper teach the younger where to go through the seasons. Not impressed.

I struggle to fathom how misinformed this comment is. That big snapper was a male, it had milt not eggs. If you understand how broadcast spawning works you would realise that it’s an extremely low guilt fish. If I took a bunch of small fish to get the same amount of meat I would have killed females in the process. Also we will all be wondering where the big fish are in decades if we kill them while they are small. Also the latest commercial dumping of big snapper in the Gulf in one morning will be more big snapper than I will ever see let alone shoot. Pass me some info on the “showing them where to go” that’s a new one. Also the eating quality, you can see how amazing it looks in the final scenes - I live on it through summer. Also why no care for the breeding kingfish I shot? You could see roe when I gutted them and they are far more vulnerable to spearos.
