Did you figure out how to get all 3 bolts off on the cylindrical thing?? The one closest to the engine in particular? There’s kind of access to the two towards the rear, but the one closest to the engine has like… no access..
You’re a god send sir, was doing my neighbors starter and couldn’t figure out how to get that f**king thing out, thought I was gonna have to lower the front axle.
Thanks for the video, this is exactly what I was looking for. Only one thing, how did you remove the third bolt for the round thing (the thing that's in the way of the starter) I was able to remove the first 2 bolts that are visible. Thanks
He doesn’t say but I was able to do it from behind the vibration dampener. That’s the name of the piece. Get some extensions, definitely a wobble extension, and a whole bunch of PB or WD40 and with some leverage like he said. It’s a bitch but I was able to get it.
Did your power have a big plastic thing on it like over the connector? I can't remember if it was a ground or power that had the plastic thing on the end....
How do you get all the bolts off that hold that balancing weight on? There’s 3 bolts from what I see on my friends, but it’s impossible to reach the bolt closest to the engine? Or is the one in back not attached? Hard to tell as it’s on the backside of the circular thing..
Blindly, put a socket wrench on the balancing weight on the back through the tire and used a wrench to get the bolts off. Heating it up, should help. For me, the two bottom bolts only needed to be removed. The top was missing. If it was there it would have been challenging to get off. Your going to need to be creative or just cut that bolt off.
That’s what I figured. Only saw two bolts in your video. Lucky!Thinking ab just cutting the whole thing off 😂 seems to be some kind of “balancing” weight from info I’ve found.. can’t imagine it changes a whole lot. Just a hunk of metal hanging off the frame.
@derakc.2783 hopefully that weight thing isn't vital. Bolts were totally seized, I tried everything to get them off before I took the Sawzall to it lol got the mounting bolts off, now just trying to get the connections off. I think my hands are too big though. Might have to snip and rewire. Any other ideaa?
Howd you get it off?? I can’t get to it w anything.. only thing I didn’t try was a socket w a flexible neck- can’t remember exactly what they’re called.. but even w the other 2, w a whole can of W and a air wrench I couldn’t crack them loose. There’s so much oil n shit all over everything I’m afraid to hit it w a torch lol
Thank you so much! I have this exact truck and I'm so glad someone finally made a video specific to this model!! 😘

Does that piece NEED to be removed for replacement @@artofficialbrain

Bro howwww did you get that thing in the way out
its three bolts. take you time and unscrew it.
What was the 18 used for
Just leverage for the tight spot with the socket
Not the same as a sport 2 door right? A 2002
If its a 4WD maybe if it's not a 4WD. It should be even easier to access
That 3rd bolt is so hard to get to
it is. when i finally got it off. i only put one back in.
