Nice video JC. Fellow retired Law Enforcement Officer. 34 years. I have three of these rifles but in 177 cal. Before the 22 cal came out. All three are tack drivers. Have shot squirrels with them out to 35 yards. Aim for the head and lights out. Thanks for the review bud.
Hi Stan, I hope you are enjoying retirement! These are great little rifles and easy to work on. One of the easiest upgrades is slightly increasing the diameter of the transfer port. You can actually use a small plastic water line tube for a transfer port gasket. You can gain about 75 fps. I appreciate you tuning in. Happy Shooting 👍🏻😉
Thank you for your service Officers, as a MAN (Black Man) my father taught me to respect people in uniforms and all those who work in service of others. Big hugs to you, and everyone. Happy plinking :)
To all Beeman QB 78 and QB 1085 users, Remember this: ONCE YOU NOTICE THAT THE CO2 IS RUNNING LOW, DRY FIRE THE RIFLE UNTIL IT IS COMPLETELY EMPTY AND WAIT ABOUT 10 MINUTES TO GIVE TIME TO THE O RING TO GO BACK TO ITS ORIGINAL SIZE. Then you will be able to remove the co2 cap easily without breaking the seal (o ring) i HAD TO FIGURE THIS OUT BY MYSELF SINCE IT IS NOT STATED IN THE MANUAL. Since then, I haven't had to replace the o rings on the cap of any of my three Beeman QB78 rifles
Thanks, Matt! I appreciate the heads-up on the Beeman. I also gave Nitro the compliment. He's been doing pretty good for almost 16 years. Happy Shooting Buddy!👍🏻😉
This is a great first rifle for a child... I recently graduated my grandson to a PCP. I got him a Beeman Chief with hand pump combo. I'm really impressed with the Beeman accuracy for the price.
Nice video!! Beautiful little airgun, I have the qb78 deluxe. The trigger its the bad factor in this gun. I've redesigned one a couple of years ago, two stage, 3d printed. Less than a pound break
Im very impressed with this gun. I really dont know what else to say! For a $150 bucks, the trigger, the accuracy and everything else is well worth it. For a C02 gun, you cant go wrong. Thanks JC.
Hi JC, Nitro looks beautiful, beautiful, doesn't even look like it's been 16 years. Another excellent video my friend. I hadn't seen that new version of the Beeman QB78 yet. I wonder if the CO2 valve return spring can be de-creased to easy a little more power out (let a little more CO2 out). Its a very common adjustment on the Hammerli 850. Ha, I think you do so about 3 years ago.
I been binge watching you because I can't for the life of me decide between PCP CO2 or break barrel. Im leaning towards this rifle and a Air bug pistol or a Barra 1100z with a Diana bandit. I hope I got the names right. Im looking for accuracy on a budget to keep my skills up as I get older and have slowed down with center and rim fire. I never was able to get a break barrel that shot decent in the past. So I'm torn also I have shot enough to know that you are a good shooter. You stay calm but I know you're brain is going right along and your itching to shoot one hole groups.
I wonder when someone will make the ammo and gun to put a drop of oil with a film of wax at the base of pellets to diesel as the air is compressed to fire a round. That would be the first powderless, brassless rifle that can nearly do the same as conventional rifles. Someone out there, let's do this!
A rifle would specifically have to be designed for dieseling. Then, technically, it would be defined as a firearm. Dieseling is not good for a regular Airgun, it can be hard on the seals, and it provides inconsistent accuracy. I have coated some pellets and played with it on an older, inexpensive airgun. It is crazy the velocities you can achieve. I appreciate you tuning in 😉👍🏻
@@AirgunDetectives This is just a matter of designing a rifle that accepts only special ammo and is designed for this purpose. It would be wise to make the ammo and chambering to only fit an odd sized pellet, say 27 gage. At, say 1800 fps and 27 gage, that ought to be able to hunt a good variety of game simply by adjusting the weight of the pellet and the amount of diesel charge. The charm of this idea would be a lot more fire [power cam be carried by a person and the copper and zinc would not be needed to make the casing since there is none. A rifle like that could easily hold 30 rounds with tube feed like the lever action rifles.
Yeah. I gotta have one. I don't have a co2 . 22 cal. Rifle yet. This will be my first. I got a co2. 177. It's fun. But this one will be more fun. This could be a very quiet squirrel rifle. Nice shooting JC. That rifle is really accurate in your hands. Hard to believe it shoots hole in hole one after the other. The price is great as well. Thanks for the review and you and your family enjoy the rest of the weekend! Take care brother.
I spoke with a tech from Pyramyd about o-ring wear in this particular gun, and he said to remove the CO2 cartridge when you get through shooting it if you want the o-ring to last longer. So, two different recommendations from you and him! What do I do?
hav u shot that alot since the video i hav the qb78s and 1 of the orings or the valve inside went bad leakes but cant feel it coming out the barrel or breach had it for a while not a tinkerer so might jus hav to eat the cost of that one, any issues with this one ?
No.. I explain in the video that only applies to the type of system that releases the Co2 into a tank. Any type system that requires a pressure seal at the tip of a Co2 is NOT conducive to storage. You want to remove the Co2 at the end of the day or at the conclusion of your shooting session.👍🏻
Hi Peter, there are a couple of seals and a needle vavle. This rifle is extremely easy to disassemble and work on. It's definitely a bargain, especially with the performance! 👍🏻
One thing u need to tell everyone is do not store with the co2 cartridge.. I had a gun malfunction and it blew up on me sitting by the bed.. I now have the pellet stuck in my arm and had a nice deep four inch incision on my right arm.. anyway please make sure to let everyone know this when going over co2 guns..
It's not his responsibility to tell anyone that, it literally says NOT to do that in every single owners manual that comes with a CO2 gun. Whether you choose to read it and adhere to it is YOUR responsibility...
