Always loved Charles Dance. Infact the English make the best readers, actors..from an American..years ago my English Cornwall friend called me a Closet Brit. My love of your country, culture, history, food. Classical music, Conductors! And dad got me into Masterpiece theater years ago. He's 90 years old, a Korean War Vet..USN..has traveled to Britian twice. Soon to Ireland. Daddy and I loved Downton Abbey. I got to see 2nd movie. Love Belgravia
It's nice to meet other fans here. I've also been an admirer ❤ of him since I saw "Phantom Of The Opera" as a teenager and have many films where he played 💕😍
Charles Sir, you are a world treasure and I'm this much more inspired for the performing arts; as an artist! Don't ever stop doing what you love and being that inspiration.
This made me feel so much better! Being cooped up like this has really driven my depression & anxiety to all new heights but hearing & seeing Charles was just what I needed to take the edge off. The man needs to make some audio books that is for sure. Thank you for uploading this & bringing some relief to a woman who suffers with many mental health issues that is having an over the top hard time dealing with all this. Please try & get Charles back to read more in the future. His voice is purely angelic. Thank you again & thank you Charles for reading such a strong & wonderful poem.
FreeSpirit999 Dearheart, I'm in the same basket as you. Perhaps this will help? www.audiobooks.com/browse/narrator/163767/charles-dance. I've listened to him reading the letters and journals of Lord Nelson. Not at all a topic I'm interested in, but made interesting by Mr Dance's gifts and talents. Hunt around-you may find someone has posted it online so you may hear it without sending for your own copy.
Omg he kept it!?! I wondered what happened to it cause I never saw it up for auction! That's my favorite role he has ever played. My all time favorite story & character & he portrays Erik so beautifully. That just made my whole night cause I finally got my sister to watch that movie tonight so this is a perfect little treat for me since I just watched the movie for like the 200th time. Thanks for pointing this out! Ugh wish I had that mask but so glad Charles kept it as it shows how much that role meant to him. No one ever talks about that role in interviews with him & its upsetting cause it was a great one. Love it! ❤💞❤
@@FreeSpirit999 I am glad that I could make you happy with it. The phantom film is also my absolute favorite movie! I can watch and enjoy it again and again. It's a shame that no one ever talks of his excelent achievement als Erik!
@@starkira4021 right!?! Those would be the first type of questions out of my mouth upon interviewing him. To be able to express facial expressions even with a mask over your face just with your eyes, mannerisms and tone is bloody hard! I was just a kid when I saw that movie in fact it was my first Charles Dance movie & my first Phantom as well so I'm not singing his praises biasedly either lol. That was a very emotional & demanding role & then having a mask cover up all your emotions which is vital to acting I mean just wow!!
@@FreeSpirit999 Yes, my nickname is but you can also call me Esthi. Yes I agree with you! It's really incredible how well Charles Dance Erik brought to life. It was also my first phantom of opera film when I was a teen and I was blown away! You dive into this other world I see a bit of parallels to the Beauty and the Beast series from the 80s
Imagine having Charles Dance as a grandfather reading you bed time stories.
I need that, it could be kind🤧❤🩹
I would love that.

This is one of those moment that I say to myself:
"I am glad that I've learnt English."
What a rich and sonorous voice, with so many layers and colors. Good job, Mr. Dance! You gave a wonderful realistic and fun reading.
"Hello, my name is Charles Dance, and yours isn't."

I fell in love with Charles Dance as Erik years ago and wrote to him how much I love him as the phantom in 2004. I got a beautiful reply.
