Traded with 10 shares only for 2 months, you really have to take your time and learn and prove that you can be profitable...now I'm at 200 shares a trade and will continue to climb
Congratulations! That’s the way to go 🏆🥇 though it seems to be a stark increase in share size after (only) 2 months as market dynamics will shift (just an observation, no lecturing 😅)
Glad to hear trading only with 10 shares to start worked for you to gain confidence. This is exactly what I want to do, and now you've inspired me to try it, no matter how small the gain. I think it's all about the "doing", practicing, creating muscle memory while proceeding with caution.
OMG this is fascinating, I had no idea how fun trading is going to be!! I"m getting through this week from the west coast trying to get up earlier and earlier, will join the two week starting Monday, coffee in hand. This to date is my all time favorite video, and I've watched a ton of your archives!! :)
I'm loving this small account challenge Ross... Working with about 6k but it's growing well after the time with you..the 2 week trial..and now this video is putting more info in my brain for tomorrow..GREEN today as well. Much Thanx for the MacD video too.. You make it so easy to understand... How fun is trading..ha..👍
Ross, all your content is awesome. I appreciate your way of teaching and transparency. This video on Level 2 is first real introduction to Level 2 that helps my understand what to look for. Now, I just need to practice.
I am a fan from Taiwan, and I love how fast you make the content, it is so informative, and you make the video everyday. you have made a lot of videos explaining lv2 already, and everytime you just make it more easy to understand, I think you are the one who explains it the clearest on TH-cam with the detailed real-time example you gave. since I just get started in daytrade, and I am practicing in papertrading, the first thing I wake up (GMT+8) everydayis to see your video. Appreciate the hard work! I look forward to get more green days with you!
Hey! I made four tiny trades in three days. two winners two losers. in the green by 0.27:) this is so much fun. thank you for laying out the details so clearly.
Ross I wanna thank you for everything you’ve taught . Watched and learned from so many of your videos , your teaching method is truly genuine unlike other TH-camrs. I’ve been following your rules and strategies for small account with paper trading . Came profitable daily . I believe im ready to start with a cash account of $4000 starting next Monday . Thank you for everything 🙏🏽
Amazing lesson - it answered so many of my questions and gave me so much more understanding. Ross, your way of teaching is unparalleled - thank you so much.
Thank you so much for this video. Watching you explain the tape through live examples really helps to pinpoint those minor but very important details. I've subscribed to your channel and think you are an awesome teacher! So grateful to have come across your channel.
Another great video! Thanks so much. Super excited about TOS small account challenge as I am also in a TOS cash account. I was wondering if you could make a video about halts? How do you avoid halts and what should you do when you're caught in one?
Would you use the level 2 on Webull it’s setup differently no color format also is the level2 across the market or is it used just among the specific brokerage your using on Webull I see orders for 1 share all the time on the level2 I think they have all shares at a price point stacked together do the other platforms do the same?
Could you please elaborate on Level II situations when you see a big ask position being bought up, numbers coming down, but then the stock drops instead of moving up. Seen it so so so many times feeling baffled. TY AGAIN FOR YOUR TIME educating us, the dreamers!
If you see the numbers going down on a big seller (ask), but it doesn’t fully break and the price drops, this is likely because the buyers were not strong enough at that moment to break through, and as people see it’s not breaking some people will take profit as they see the break isn’t going to happen, and people who got in for the break may bail and sell their position. Pay close attention to shifts in buying or selling on the tape at that price level where the big seller is being eaten up to help spot that it may potentially not be breaking (see no more green or very little green on tape, shifts to majority or all red on tape or burst of red on tape)
I noticed today on lvl 2. Thay when the spread starts getting wider. Example, bids start going lower and ask stays high. Eventually, the price starts to drop. I will be keeping an eye on this for a trend. But i believe it is a pattern to look for the price to start dropping. Sellers hold their positions. But new sellers step in and lower the ask price to accommodate the buyers asking price. Therefore, driving the price to dip.
Ross, thanks for the information. It has helped me. Could you explain the difference in candle sticks verses Hiekin Ashi candles? Which do you recommend? Again, thank you.
When you're trying to show something like the break of 10.29 on ADGI and you go back to see it again, you can actually use the " , " and " . " keys (lower case " " keys) to go frame by frame. Your videos are probably about 30 frames per second. You can also change to .75, .50 and .25 speed by using the same keys upper case "". The ">" key will take you back up. Very handy when you get used to it.
This was an awesome explanation of Level 2 data! I'll be watching this a few more times to retain all of details you pieced together. As small account challenges go, which broker has been your favorite to "quickly" grow a small account to 25k?
@DaytradeWarrior 2 Questions - What percent of my capitol gains from trading should be set aside for taxes? - When trading in an LLC can i deduct my trading setup every year from my gains or can you only deduct something once ? Thank you👍
man, the way you used the term "slippage" casually in your explanation was all I needed to understand the entire concept of it. I've been looking at that word for weeks and could not understand what it meant. 👍
Ross, curious. You always speak in terms of $ gains per share & overall but by percentage what is your average gainer or goal on a trade you try to get out of a trade?
Level 2 is expensive when you only have 1000$ to fund your account. IBKR offers L2 where you pay less but per exchange. In your opinion is it worth it to buy the major exchanges and only have to pay 50$/month while starting out?
For International traders you have many brokers available, you just need to select what one fits you best based on commission or commission free and the location of the broker if it is an "offshore" broker or a US based broker
New to the channel. Absolutely loving it so far. Thank you very much for such a detailed breakdown on the variety of topics you cover. Was hoping to get a little advice as your small accounts starting point is my whole starting account. I am usually very conservative and have been making small profits most days but its nothing substantial. I know it will compound but is it worth it in the beginning to go for the whole account looking for a bigger wins until I get to a more substantial starting point? I am not trying to be greedy or too conservative but it seems too slow at only 5-10 bucks a day in my wins. Lately iv only been maxing out at $125/trade. Any advice from anyone would be appreciated.
This is a great starting point, take it slow until you build the confidence in yourself and your track record to trade larger positions and slowly increase size based on your performance!
can u or someone in this comment section explain how to use all ur buying power in your trades? ik u have explained it before but im having a hard time wrapping my head around it is all. starting with 100 in my acc so woukd i be putting 100 into each of my trades?
33:35 Ross you mentioned why it's not sorted, could it be because it is sorted by time it was submitted? It would matter if the others submitted first as it would allow those to go through first not holding, but there is a wall as you said in that 553, would that affect the Bid as well?
One of things I'm frustrated about in a cash-only account is establishing a stop loss on my trades to manage my risk. Typically I set a stop loss around $0.10 to $0.20 / share. There have been several times I try to enter into a stock thinking it will continue upward only to quickly drop down and then come up back to where I was and to find myself stopped out and done for the day (being a cash account). I also tried w/o a stop loss and that ended up creating a bigger loss for me. It would be nice to see how you manage the risk in these small accounts. What amount to do setup for a stop loss? Is there any guidance how much to setup a loss being on the price action of a stock?
Yeah its hard this is why its a small account challenge we don't get the room to take a mistake then get back in. So being super selective is helpful but it also puts a lot of pressure on to make sure its right!
Thank You Ross. This was so informative and well explained. I feel blessed for having found you. Practicing your micro pullback strategy on the SIM and learning so much.

Does level 2 only show limit orders?? Maybe if there is a seller that is hidden and executes immediately on the chart market order? How can I deal with this?
The level 2 will show all orders on the bid and ask with a limit price, the tape or some call it the book / time and sales will show all orders executed including market orders
One thing that is important to know, those orders on lv2 can be taken away in an instant. That goes for buy and sell orders. So, while lv2 does offer a glimpse into the price action, is just one piece of the puzzle.

I am trying REALLY hard to find a good starting point in learning stock lingo and trading lingo but finding square 1 feels impossible. It says “for beginners” But it feels like a whole different language. Like starting to learn Spanish in an advanced course.
Well, realize that Ross is an unusually advanced trader. I would suggest buying his book, wherein he patiently explains every detail. I have his book and it is just great. I already understood all the terms and lingo and underlying ideas because I've been at this for many years. Ross is probably the best educator I've ever come across, regarding the field of daytrading.
@@KpxUrz5745 thank you so much. I don’t know anyone who day trades so i has no one to ask who was reputable. I like listening to Ross but felt i didn’t know the basics to follow. I’m signing up for his beginners class and I’m going to get the book. Thank you for taking the time to respond to my question.
LOL yea it's easy to record and pause and play in slow-mo after the fact, but trying to read and interpret L2 in real-time isn't as easy. Walls get broken in microseconds. Levels change in an instant. Pairing that with T&S and the chart live isn't as easy as it seems. Yea you're good at trading but let's focus on that...

Could you please elaborate on Level II situations when you see a big ask position being bought up, numbers coming down, but then the stock drops instead of moving up. Seen it so so so many times feeling baffled. TY AGAIN FOR YOUR TIME educating us, the dreamers!
The ask is a sell position so it's going to drive a lower price
If market price is $10 and there's a large volume at $5 on the ask (exaggerated I know) but that weighs the price downward
Maybe a large hidden seller
If you see the numbers going down on a big seller (ask), but it doesn’t fully break and the price drops, this is likely because the buyers were not strong enough at that moment to break through, and as people see it’s not breaking some people will take profit as they see the break isn’t going to happen, and people who got in for the break may bail and sell their position. So I had GLMD, but took 11% profit, not bad, but not over 200%. How do I know when to take profit?
So again, happy with the 11% as my goal is 10%. But how can you see a 200% gainer coming or is it just take your win, move on?
I take profit then get back in if there is a new setup. But don’t feel bad about paying yourself. You’re green. You did great!!

May i ask ? Where can i purchase a lvl 2 , and will it work with tradeview or does it just come with certain brokers. Im in canada and use wealth simple. Thanks for all your hard work .great teacher.
Every platform has it, you have to pay, like $2 a month
Most to all trading platforms have the level 2 data for a small fee some are free
For Canadian resident, I think the cheapest option would be to use IBKR U.S Level 2 which will cost around 10 USD per month. Other than that, you can use TradingView level 2 data or Questrade level 2 data for much higher prices. Unfortunately I think Wealthsimple does not offer US level 2 data at this moment.
Thank you kindly.
Awesome video. Loveee it

Plz. Thanks so much
I’m not expecting rate change to significantly effect small caps in the short term, but over the next year continued rate cuts will help these companies a lot
Does the white on the time and sales (the spread) indicate buying or selling?
White are transactions between the spread
@@DaytradeWarrior To clarify that is only transactional information that does not indicate buying(green on the tap) or selling(red on the tape)
I got greedy and hung on to a stock too long. I didnt sell until the next day and lost half of my original investment. Lesson learned.

Does level 2 only show limit orders?? Maybe if there is a seller that is hidden and executes immediately on the chart market order? How can I deal with this?
Yes, market won't be in a order book as those execute immediately.
The level 2 will show all orders on the bid and ask with a limit price, the tape or some call it the book / time and sales will show all orders executed including market orders
Your obviously an excellent tape reader because MACD is lagging and you don’t use Stoch

Ross, how can I register for the Paper Trading Simulator? I tried it but kept getting an error message. Is it not working?
Can you email team@warriortrading.com? We can help!
Sometimes you'll see the bid price much higher than the ask. Is this bc they want to push the sellers into a possible squeeze?
Is the “red” on the bid because those shares were “sold” on the bid???
Anyone know amount Ross started with on the small account challenge?
One thing that is important to know, those orders on lv2 can be taken away in an instant. That goes for buy and sell orders. So, while lv2 does offer a glimpse into the price action, is just one piece of the puzzle.
You’re right, but imo it’s an important piece of the puzzle

Like anything else it takes time to learn and get good at!
It's like to see a $500 cash account challenge.
Oh, and HFT should be ILLEGAL!
