The Studio channel was my favorite development of this past year for you guys. I loved how it was so different but also still had the same MKBHD vibe to it. My favorite videos were the road trip (obviously) and the Intel parody ad. Can’t wait to see what you come up with next year!

Interesting format for today's show. Watching this reminded me of an annual employee review (for raises). Impressive to hear their viewpoints on projects/accomplishments. The MKBHD studio has some amazing talent. 💰
Watching the Studio channel, I wouldn't have guessed that so many of the team started so recently - there's definitely a lot of synergy (based on what you show us).
A lot of us knew each other before! Adam and I were coworkers before this, Hayato and I always saw each other at events, I've known Brandon since about 2017, and the rest of the guys I've interacted with on Twitter for a few years.
Love that this is basically like end of year performance reviews for the team…except we all get to watch 😂. But it was honestly so great to hear what everyone thought about the year and especially the Studio channel, which I’ve really enjoyed. I didn’t even realize that some of the team members are so new. I know our view of things is obviously tailored in some way, but it does seem like everyone meshes really well.
Love everything you guys have done this year. Honestly as a small creator it's so inspiring to see you guys grow and truly push the boundaries on what you can do on this platform!
Great podcast, but tends to be a little hard to listen to on audio only because of the lack of describing of what you are refering to. A little to often I have to rewatch the video version to have any idea of what you are talking about. Feels like the audio-only version is being down-prioritized - which is a shame.
As a person that came from the Graphics Design field, a week deadline was the average and it was pure, unmitigated hell. It’s not enough time to properly visualize the end result.
I second Adam’s point of the iPad mini being probably the best device of 2021. But for me the iPad mini actually made me want an iPad Pro. I hadn’t used an ipad since the iPad Air 2 in 2014. I got the mini this year thinking, finally, the perfect iPad-just the right size with all the features. I got it, I loved it for weeks with the pencil, then I realized it was more an entertainment device than productivity for me. Gaming, watching videos in bed, perfect. Anything that I was doing on my phone could be done on the mini; but it was just too small for productivity. Text is too small to really work on, the typing experience is meh, and it’s hard to write on it even when it’s on a tabletop; not to mention the lackluster processing power and the mediocre screen. Fwiw, the mini did its job in getting me interested and trusting iPads again, and that’s why I finally bit the bullet and got an M1 iPad pro, knowing what they’re capable of now.

Bruh this is such a damn good breakdown. For 2022 I have plans on creating 500 eps of visual content which to me isn't wild because I'm conditioned at the point. But I've been there to myself there is something important missing from my page. An hearing Tim talk I was like holy shit that's it. Also all the positions you have as a company it's good insist on what I may one day need and the fault tolerance when it comes to affordability so thank you. I've build the channel by myself and I'd welcome most advice so this was spot on in layers. Gracias. 🙏🏽
How come high frame rate video (e.g. 120 FPS) is never talked about (or even supported?) for playback at the same frame rate - especially now that high refresh displays on phones/monitors are more common?

1:13:52 Flying acro fpv immersed in the goggles is a stupid good time... it's even better now that dji has remedied the only downside with HD low latency goggles. Before that we flew analog. A dji Mavic is a great tool but a fpv drone is something that never gets old as far as recreation. I'm surprised none of you have gotten into full on fpv having so much access to tech.... it's sounds like Andrew almost hooked.
I find it crazy how much I enjoy the team. Like they make great videos and work great in front of the camera. It’s like you casted them to do both things.

25:49 I disagree but only because the best part of a CEV is the driving experience, something that can't really be objectively measured. It's not about 0-60 times or horsepower numbers. There's more to it than that. The feel of handling and the beautiful sound of the engine, have yet to be matched by EVs. They can't match handling or suspension because they're twice as heavy as the cars that they need to beat. And they're prohibitively expensive right now. There's also no replacing a physical button to me. Dials, switches and buttons are just so much better than it being on a screen, the feel and ease of use is unmatched. Again, I get why it's this way but I just like it the other way. Cars are something I'm passionate about and I'm just sad that the direction we have to go in, almost eliminates what I love about cars. The idea of not driving MY car as it takes me to work is saddening, even a boring commute is an opportunity to shut off my brain, rev the engine and blast crappy music. Thank you for reading my unwarranted and probably stupid rant 🙂

marques had challegend us on the podcast to try and guess the awards and if someone got them all right or understandably right then the person would score the MVP of the year from him lol. i tweeted out my predictions and ALL OF THEM ended up correctly and i don't know how to get this to the team help. idk if my submission counts cause he challenged us way back in march or something and i tweeted my predictions in the beginning of december because i just remembered the challenge.
