if you go on command prompt and type in
netsh wlan show profiles
netsh wlan show profiles name=profilename key=clear
would you still be able to see the key
but i can see only the old Wifi that i has been used before. i cannot see the new wifi.

Why didn't you write that key in the description so ppl can copy/paste it?
And even IF this would work (some comments say it doesn't quite), all the user has to do is add the registry back themselves (from another computer, for example).
Plus, you can still see the password from the command prompt using netsh :(
Ok, I got the permissions thing fixed by changing the owner to admin from TrustedInstaller, I think that is what some other people are talking about. I was able to delete the key. I tested it out, password still showed. Open back up RegEdit and the key was able to be found again, but this time had two items inside instead of the three. I have to do all the permissions stuff again, delete it, check box shows password, key is back in regedit..I've gotta do this on like 40 computers. Hope I can figure it out.

There is another way to show wifi password using cmd commands. how to disable this as well?
just as "useful" as this, where the user can add the registry back themselves: you can remove all permissions from netsh.exe. If the user is admin, they can add them back, that's why I said it's just as use(less).
I am now working on a solution to stop students from stealing the wifi password from the school laptops. I made a simple program that checks the foreground window every few hundred milliseconds and closes any window whose title contains smth from its blacklist (so it works for other things as well). Problem is the same: if the user knows about it and is admin, they can remove it (of course, the program can attempt to prevent that too, by including any task manager on its blacklist, but that would be too restrictive imo :(

Please follow the instructions in the video. You need to take the Permission before you can actually delete the registry key and do take backup of the registry key before deleting it and BTW which version of Windows you are using?

I think I said that in the beginning that you need to take backup of the registry key before you start modifying it. Later, you can restore that key to revert the changes or you can manually change the values.
how can I hide my password from other computers? I can still see the password using other laptop.
It is per computer basis. I mean you have to repeat those steps on each computer where you have saved the password.

Trying connected with a wifi network once while saving the password. Then restart your PC and see if the registry keys appear.
i found the registry but have tried about 3 different ways to change the permission but still no positive update.
Try taking the Ownership first for that particular registry. You have to move your head around it. Then change the permissions.

You would have to create a registry key using that same file name.

As I had said in the previous comment below you need to take the ownership of that particular registry key by right-clicking on that registry folder and choose Permissions and then add your account in the list and mark it to have a Full Control. If that doesn't help then try changing the Advanced permission levels and add your account there.

Use that Replace All child.... option under Advanced options to apply the permission to entire contents of that folder.

You have to take the ownership and change the permission to change the values. Take a backup of this registry key or entire registry before proceeding.

It is a bit hard to take over the permission in Windows. Trying changing the Ownership first from the same tabs and see if then it lets you add Administrator account.

It seems to be a registry identifier. But why you need it? You can goto Start - Run - Regedit - Ctrl+F to bring Find and paste that code. But be careful to modify the registry anyway; that could cause system instability.

I think I had described that in the video. You can keep a backup of the old registry key and then update the values. later, you can import that registry key to revert the values to the original.
