One of my favourite bikes that. As you said they normally came with red tanks and some came with high exhsusts but i couldnt find one when i had it. This will be a grest bike for someone.
There's an excellent video on TH-cam, a professional motorcycle mechanic ( 30years experience), turned spoked wheels tubeless, all you need is duck tape and tiger seal.😂
they're not bad bikes, just needs a good bit of tlc to keep them rust and corrosion free, the regulators are often bad on them though which might explain the slightly weak recharge rate when revved, can get better ones that are plug and play from a suzuki GS that should have more oomph and last longer
As if we didn't all see this coming. The first imported Japanese bikes weren't top notch either they soon rectified that. Although built in China you'll probably find that the engine is a Japanese clone as will be many other parts. Let's be perfectly honest a lot of major manufacturers (if not all) incorporate Chinese manufactured components. Why not? They do it well and they do it cheap. Stick to propreity brand lubricants and service parts and you'll probably be okay.
Chinese bikes won’t last 40 years….. I’ve got an 8 year old sinnis that is as good as new and I’ll bet that with a bit of care and tlc it’ll last a long time. I’m sure I remember the old boys saying the same sort of things about Japanese bikes way back in the ‘70s 😊

My first bike was a Honda 50. Two years old and the chrome was rust speckled everywhere.
