As a carpenter's daughter, I would have used the space under the stairs for a powder room, closing in the risers,. it's a waste of space leaving it the way it is. These open risers on this staircase, although chic, are not practicable for young children. I would have put the entrance for the powder room in the hallway. That allows for the main bathroom to be closed in and used privately as an ensuite for the (guest/main) bedroom. And, it would have created a beautiful wall facing the LR to place an amazing piece of furniture (console, front entrance table, etc.). Just a thought.
I can never understand how people can live in filth especially its a nice house. Outside may look decent but the inside is another story. Great rehab recovery on this one!
@@VioletJoy maybe moving the plumbing was cost prohibitive? They were younger ( in age and as a couple) newer at flipping when they did that video, perhaps they would put one under the stairs now...
@@vickiwalker4396 I think that would have been mentioned. With a house of that price in that area, I'm pretty sure they would have done it no matter what. They made a lot of money on that house.
I will always have in my car: gloves, face mask, shoes covers (for emergency) to enter in houses like this one. You can get sick with bacterias, mold, etc.
Just think, children had to live in that filth. I'm thankful for having grown up with a Mother who raised seven of us in a home that was spotless. Whoever lived this way, was either a slob and didn't care, or couldn't care because they were dealing with severe depression, IMO.
@@angelbulldog4934 That's the result of open concepts. Everything has to blend, hence the boring world we live in. In countries that aren't so obsessed with open concepts and rooms being wide open they can still use color and pattern.
I wonder if Christina ever goes to the bathroom when she's in public. It's not the end of the world because somebody else uses your bathroom. What a precious little princess.
You would think that if these people were really touring these houses in these conditions, they would dress appropriately. Wear shoe covers, hell, wear a whole hazmat type suit. If you had two :-) you know, even the kind that painters wear. Then you can take it all off and wash it or throw it away when you're done walking through. At least cover of the shoes. But now. They just walk through and their fancy duds and then Christina hast to act like a freaking idiot every single time.
These two would never survive in the military if they are having issues with the smells. There are some nasty smells out there, and the desert has most of them

Why not put a guest bathroom under the stairs, a long with some extra storage. It was just wasted space.
