Hi Marty, they don’t necessarily integrate together rather the data from 0183 and 2000 are simply used by the chart plotter or whatever MFD will display the info. The part that makes them work together is a converter of sorts so that newer networks like NMEA2000 or SeaTalk-NG can translate the data to use. That little WiFi server takes the 0183 AIS data and broadcasts it on WiFi so that wireless devices and apps can use the AIS data. I hope that makes sense. Great to hear from you! Cheers! 🤙🏼
Hi Andy, you can get a flexible driver attachment for your drill online for under $10. I bought one a couple of years ago to try out and it's really handy for reaching inaccessible/awkward spots especially on the boat. Thanks for your videos.
yoooo Andy, great video! i was looking for something to watch while eating breakfast and this popped up. it's perfect because i'm gonna be building my bed and stuff for my SUV today. i'm excited to start my trip up to your area in the next week or so so i can go to the boat auction, see my uncle, hangout with some friends, and do a bunch of fishing and exploring. it's been something like 17 or 18 years since i was last in Cali, so i'm fuckin pumped to be heading back to spend a few weeks there. so ya, watching you work on your boat and find ways to make it work without spending a bunch of money has helped wake me up and get me in the mood to do the same thing on my SUV build
Yoooo PK! Right on man! I’m glad to hear it motivated you, other people’s videos do the same thing to me. Sounds like you’re about to embark on a little adventure. That’s cool man. As for the auction, they haven’t made an announcement yet but I’ll check in on it soon. Travel safe, have a good trip and if you make it to the auction come say what’s up! 👊🏼
Thanks for the content in the midst of all the rain you have had in SoCal. I’d be very interested in a in person walk through of all you have done to your 30. I’m sure a lot of folks that follow your travels would be interested too.
Perfect timing! Was just last night looking into getting the same combination of plotter and VHF on my own project boat👍 comforting to see that you got the two of them working together 👍👍 Fair winds⛵️☺️
That’s ironic but cool. If I had to do it again I would probably spend a little extra for a B&G chart plotter. The Axiom is nice and gets the job done but B&G have more sail specific features. Just my 2¢. Fair winds!! 😁 ⛵️
@@sailingsole Yes I have been thinking about B&G too but have already installed Raymarine wind and depth/speed transducers so thought I would try not to mix things up too much😅
My adventure videos are closer to real time. My boat work and refit footage makes it into a video when I have time for that. Also, sometimes I need to do sea trials and things like that before it makes sense to put out the video. Thanks for watching.🤙🏼
Dude I’m installing the same autopilot on our Cat30, any tips or tricks? I noticed you installed the sensor and controller unit in the portside lazaret, they don’t need to be inside or worried about getting wet?
Hi there. That locker doesn’t really get wet and it’s tucked pretty far back under there. I’ve had mine installed for about 2.5 years or more and I haven’t had any problems. I use the heck out of it too. Pretty much every sail. No tips, the installation was pretty straightforward if you follow the instructions. Good luck! You’re gonna love it when it’s working. 🤙🏼
There’s no real cut off but most would say that 45’ is getting close to the cut off. It’s a lot of boat to handle solo especially when conditions go south. Cheers! 🤙🏼
Well done, Andy!
Thanks Chris! We’ll be seeing y’all at the island soon enough. 🤙🏼
watching since 9 am and now is 8pm, great playlist
Wow that’s awesome, thanks for watching Herbert. 🤙🏼

Thanks Andy, it's interesting to see how 0183 integrates with 2000 if you could mention any issues next.
Thanks
Marty

Thanks for the idea. I should get one of those.

Always enjoy the videos, Andy. Great channel!
Right on. Thanks for being a regular 😂👊🏼
Another good video... If you were headed out of Shoreline Marina today, I think we passed you as we returned from Avalon.
Hey there! Yeah that was me and I saw you too. Just went out to kick off some dust. I need to get out more… 🤙🏼
How was Avalon?

Lol! I haven't heard "chingaderra" in a long time!
It’s a universal word for everything. Chingas and chingaderas!!! 😂

you did this in early december but it nearly march now?

Did you have to upgrade your antenna, if so,m what did you upgrade to?
No, the VHF radio receives the AIS through my original antenna. No new antenna and no splitter. 👍🏼

What size sailboat ⛵️ is the cut off for solo sailing?

Yo, this be 2310.
Hahaha sup G!?
Do you have any sailing class referrals in your area ?
Yes, lookup Marina Sailing. They have a few schools around Southern California.
