Trees looking great Jen. The whole layout looking great to. Not to waffley. 😂. Hope you do some scenic backboards in the future. Give the forests some depth. Keep up the great work. I allways enjoy your videos. ❤
I think the layout is evolving very well Jen, the tree planting definitely adds to the look of the layout. Layout's always tend to evolve though and decisions we make along the way change as new ideas are formed and things move around to accommodate them. Personally I like your tree planting positions as they are. I think Mr Shelby and Mini Jen approve of real Jen's work as well.. Seeing the stunning Black Five and our 'Nige' look great.
Thank you for this video; those trees are awesome. A suggestion: exploit the rectangular shape of the hill as a foundation of an ancient structure, a castle, a tower, some roman ruins, you name it. Ciao from Firenze
The trees make a big difference to your layout, Jen. The trees and the hill on the right-hand side breaks up the continuous run nicely; the trains appear from and disappear behind the hill. I just wonder if some more trees in the corner of the farm field might help scenically to 'hide' the trains. Loved the running session!
The trees really help to give the layout a sense of depth and the farm now has a it's own distinct area,It's also nice to see the passage/view of the trains interrupted by the placement of your trees and, indeed, the hillside, helping to heighten your expectation of the trains suddenly energing round the corner. You help people to realsie just how important decision-making is in developing a railway layout and yours is certainly taking shape nicely.
Your layout is really taking shape now. It's coming along nicely, the trees are looking great. My grandson past comments on how good they look, keep up the good work.....cheers James 🙂👍
Just an idea. How about hiding / camouflaging the straight square edges at the top of your hill with higgle dee piggle dee rocks, hedges or fencing gates and stiles ( Peco fencing and stiles are good) or do some of all.
The trees look great just right Glad your voice is getting better I've had a terrible bug the last few days there is a lot about at the moment so take care and rest The steam loco have got to show those diesel whos boss 😂
Sorry to hear you have not been well too. So many people seem to have it or a variation on it...time of year I guess. Thanks for your thoughts on the trees 💕 hope you feel better soon
For a lady doing model railway, youve done quite well🙂. Someone has given sound advice regarding trees and nature. Take a walk along your nearest country side and observe. Nature is perfect in the sense that its NOT perfect lol. And everything goes some model anything spontaneous and or what your instinct tells you. The trees does not need perfection as all are random. The scenics look great from what i can see. Also remember in most cases, less is actually more. My spread isnt 100% completed as there is always something to do. Not major however. What ever you have done or made, it must please you, not visitors but they will have be highly impressed with it if you are happy. Happy "training"😂
Get well soon Jen, there's lots of it about - I had Covid Alpha and have Long Covid my throat is hugely challenging still. Good to see the trees out (they all look grand to me btw) and a running session too👍💜💜 I suspect your O Gauge Black 5 will be here soon too👍💜
Hi Jen, the most important thing is that this is your railway so whatever you do if you like it that’s all that matters. As to tree placement the best way to understand it is to take your phone, go for a walk in the countryside and photograph some trees, see how they lie in the landscape, see if they clump or stay apart, see how the sizes vary in the clumps. The best landscape modellers model what they see, not what they think they see so photos are invaluable. One thing I do know is that an apple tree in a working farm yard will get stripped by horses and cows very quickly so no cider for your farmers unless you fence it off from them.
Yes Jen. Saturday is model room day. Have been busy going through my suppliers web site. Ordered my vintage Lionel track and some vintage loco projects. I have authority to add my painting touches to my engines😂
The new trees look great! The three in a row outside the farm look quite like the way they would be planted along the road.
Thank you 💕

You can not have to many trees. Take a look around when you are out and about.
Thank you 💕
