Are these comments repeated by other reviewers of the set? I'm wondering whether it could be a QC issue with that particular one (especially as you mentioned it's the actual set sent to you by the unhappy buyer)

KZ Castor sounds better and costs $30 iirc? This is pretty meh for $150 and up. I forgot it's name before I did the review. So no bashing cuz...i just remembered it was a buncha lletters and numbers and ....but the cable? That cable is dope🤌
I bet they had more money in the cable than the drivers. Usually we're asking them to upgrade the cable to match the drivers, not the other way around!!
Never heard a bad review of this set, I have a set and they are a good set. Tell us another good $150 with better capability. I am open to try something if it is better. This and the PA-02 are getting good reviews.
I've seen several, buncha folks sold the units they bought quickly while it was still hot, several on Hifiguides and headfi. Cash buyers. Unity of approval among "Reviewers" is rare. Anatomy, preferences, hearing ability, library, listening level amongst others.
My throat is wasted...i woulda got crazy but couldn't remember if it was CXKLZ V41 CX or CKXLV-41 or...I just don't like it. The guy who sent it to me said I could give it away. It's a good beater set or take the cable and toss the buds in trash
It's ultimately subjective. We all hear things somewhat differently. Even reviewers I typically agree with will sometimes hype a set that just doesn't sound that great to my ears, or conversely, bash a set that I think sounds good. Looking at graphs and reading or watching reviews can help point you in promising directions, but ultimately you kind of just have to buy a bunch of stuff and find out for yourself what you like and then sell the stuff you don't like.
This is probably very common in the hobby. It's a blessing and a curse that i can't spend much on this because i dont really ever get scammed. I buy from websites that have good return policies so if something isnt right i can move along at the source
Yeah, these were hyped A TON by some reviewers. And then the echo chamber started. But always had my doubts. Paul Wasabii, probly my favorite reviewer, was one of the very few who had a different take compared to most. And now hearing this from you kind of affirms that. Obviously, would be great if I could try it myself, but i think that's the issue. At its price point, its hard to blind buy this thing with so many other surer option.
I guess that's the danger with being early adopters or having such a fast paced hobby where lots of iems release and have hype making some of them "better" then it actually is

Most of the time you do excellent videos that are a benefit to this hobby in general and especially to your viewers, viewers like me. Thank you. In regards to the subject of this excellent video; I'm not sure if it was intentional or a happy little accident, but I think not naming the Meyer "More random letters than a bad 'Wheel of Fortune' contestant" was the right approach. I've seen videos of yours where you absolutely brought the heat to torch some hapless headset and it didn't hit like this. This video has real, "I'm not angry, just disappointed" Dad energy, and not even bothering to call it by its name was the icing on the cake.
I have not heard this particular IEM, but in my mind this is just like the Hexa. Hype galore. I bought it based on the glowing reviews and sold it soon after. There are cheap single DDs that do bass and midrange way better. Some do treble better as well but they cost more.
Holy crap thank you so much I was about to buy these but glad I did not! I ended up with the Tangzu X HBB XuanNV. So much more happier, I now have what HBB said was meant to be the heaven and hell set. This set and the Hades so thank you HBB!

It's a term used in DM between reviewers. So if no one has heard it...they have now. Happens in lots of hobbies that have large pool of reviewers. Send 100 sets to Reddit/TH-cam/Facebook/etc flood with eye catching titles during the 2 week gap between when that happens and when folks can actually buy and then another week till they get...So "Pump n Dump" is a 3 week event..roughly. Hype is the "PUMP" and the first wave of non affiliated buyers is the "DUMP" and then it is off to next set same cycle. bI have been sick but some set is in the "PUMP" cycle right now. I'll figure it out this weekend. 52 weeks in a year....not a one is wasted...you can believe that
Love these reviews, I learn a lot from them, and it helps me appreciate the qualities of the IEMs that I have, better. I'm currently experimenting with different eartips, and finding out just how much difference they can make, particularly in the bass!
I'd like to see you now compare this to the PULA PA02 if you get the opportunity as i've seen it mentioned so many times that they are supposedly very similar.

I almost considered this but every time I go to buy something I just end up waiting. At this pace, I'll never spend money. I keep hesitating to pull the trigger. It's a lot of money for me.
I can vouch for the eq part. I tested in in the recording studio with two mono 31 band graphics, and numerous other high end eqs. We've had great results with eq on certain iems making them an awesome addition to our stage case. But...Eq can't help bad drivers.

KZ? Wait i'm confused, CKLVX D41 is Myer-Audio the company behind SLIIVO too (SLIIVO SL41?). There was some hype behind it, but it's not really my cup of tea.
It is the CKLVX D-41. It is a nice set for the money when it is on sale for $150, yet is overpriced in terms of its overall performance when it is not on sale. The DD driver gets muddy if you use parametric EQ to remove the mid bass tuck. I chose to remove a bit of the sub bass and to remove the early rise for the simulated pinna gain. Also adjusted the slope of the midrange for better male vocals. These mild parametric EQ adjustments resulted in a noticeably better sounding IEM. Again, I would not pay more than $150 for the D-41.

I really enjoy the NELB series of videos. Sometimes stuff slides under the radar due to other releases making more noise. I fell for the hype on the Truthear Hexa a while back. I don't understand it. It sounded bass lite, very bad soundstage width, and grainy upper mids/treble. Nothing stood out on that set except the utter mediocrity of the whole thing. I'd literally take many $20 sets over the Hexa.
Lately Is hard to even know what iem is being reviewed. Past are those days when this channel had a non subjective rating bar with useful info like price, picture of shell, similar alternatives, music styles to match, and more. A bunch of good decision making attributes, missed today.
Copy the Aful Performer 5., but cheap out on the driver. Not sure that's a great Business model. Just do better, we are a fairly niche market. Don't burn your target audience.
Whats the set though? I saw some comments saying its the meyer...which I saw hyped by a lot of small channels out of nowhere, saying it was the same makers of something else blah blah. Takes a lot for me to trust a new brand and this is why. I stick to Hifiman, Theiaudio just because I know what I am getting, maybe one day I will step out of my comfort zone.

I like most other self proclaimed iem addicts also bought the hype on this and couldn’t agree more … for the pula pa02 which is the same… and it’s built like a pile of shit … sounds ok well tuned but nothing great… the 2 pin connector wiggles back and forth like crazy… it’s like one of those kit Ferraris 😂… looks ok on the outside but nothing under the hood

I found it suspicious that every reviewer got their hands on this IEM from a completely unknown company at exactly the same time and all gave it rave reviews. Made me think something was going on behind the scenes.
When I see a IEM poping up at the same time on several reviewer, I almost feel the need to run away. These are clearly send for free in exchange for a review published at a given time. I can help myself to thing that those review items might not be the same as production units. Pump and dump is real. Never rush, let it pass, and wait for reviews like this one.
When possible, it would be useful to have the model name written in the title or description. Even when people the day name of random chi fi models, it’s hard to figure out the spelling just from that 😅
For me, if a set cannot compete with its peers on technicalities, then it's not worth getting. One can always EQ to change the sound signature a bit, but one can't change the drivers.
i don't know if you've tried the "Paula pa02" but a lot of people have said it's identical (sonically), i'm assuming u feel the same about it as well..?

The tuning is quite good. Someone with good drivers should do an approximation of it with a good DD and Sonion or Knowles

Most reviewers were waxing lyrical about this IEM & stating it is comparable to CHOPIN turns out it was all spurious.

Sometimes just very hard to judge iem just by graph. So have to find reliable reviewer..
I mean chifi moves so fast and that's the nature of the hobby but i still see fairly recent videos that use this as a comparison to newer release iems
