Watched this twice, once with the audio and the second without. Without the negative commentary, the place looks beautiful. You do you, but maybe enjoy the beauty of places you visit before commenting on the negatives.. It would honestly change the tone of the critique to be more constructive. 👍🏻

The Melaka River runs through the middle of Melaka city, originates from the Negeri Sembilan and finishes into the Strait of Malacca.
The water would look clear and green after a few hot days with no rain and would appear murky if it had rained. It is green in colour as of Grand Canal (Venice) and San Antonio River (Texas).
The color of a river doesn't necessarily indicate whether it's polluted. Many of the pollutants that worry scientists - salt, nitrogen, phosphorus, bacteria - can’t be seen with the naked eye, so just because a river is clear doesn't mean it's clean. Some of the worst polluting chemicals do not change the color of the water. It is also important to remember that not all bodies of water will be naturally clear, even if there is no pollution at all.
Sungai Melaka was certified as a clean river by the Water, Land and Natural Resources Ministry. The river quality stood at Class Two upstream and dropped to Class Three and Four downstream.
Perhaps the most common cause of water color is the presence minerals. When a rock is weathered down over time, the minerals from the rock are dissolved and small pieces are released into the water causing different colors. Iron, manganese, and calcium carbonate from limestone all common minerals that can cause water to range in color from red and orange to green and blue.
That’s how tropical rivers smell like when they are close to the sea. Go to Singapore and you would get the same smell too

Its a day exploration. U have such a very limited time. I totally understand. Btw, have u heard about mangroves? Do some google about it then u will get the idea about the color and smell of the water. It's not poluted anyway. There are lots of crocodile living in there long time ago but not anymore now. It is the famous river back then and it still am. Feel free to come back here and experience it in a slower pace. Good day Miriam! :)
