Well, we always remember the good old days where they close down for awhile @ night, cue the national anthem or something similar then around say like 5:00 in the morning they come back on-air (on the sign-off part, you'd have no choice but to watch it turn the TV off & go to sleep. now all TV stations r 24/7. boy do we miss those times.
I always loved seeing this on my station here at home when I was a kid. Second best rendition of the national anthem I've ever heard. The BEST version ever was, of course, Whitney Houston at the 1990 Super Bowl.
The BBC always played the national anthem every night, along with some ITV stations, but not with a video like this that really made you feel patriotic.
I remember the early 80's when Grouch Marx old programs showed at 11:30 at night and there would be a benediction from a local religious figure on 38. That voice of course was Dana Hersey.
If you lived those years, you experienced a lot, and we should give much thanks to Almighty, and to all those on the front line at the present time, keep em strong and flying with the eagles on high!
I wish I had a whole library of these old clips from Boston TV's glory days.

Used to love watching “The Three Stooges” marathon on New Year’s Eve on WSBK TV38.
2:12 - the "WSBK-TV STL (Studio-Transmitter Link) KNO-94" slide instead of test pattern slide or color bars.
A Dana Hersey... (Spelling Unsure!) If not THE voice of Boston, certainly one of them! ('Course Gary LePine & Dale Dorman were definitely up-there!)
I miss the 20th Century ...the last era of good values, and simple things, like sign offs that feature the National Anthem.
Man, that voice, "WSBK TV...in Boston."
Classic!!!!!
OK the singers that were singing the national anthem? 🔥 🔥
I tried but failed during the late 1980s. So I feel your pain.

WSBK now ends its broadcast day.
And now our National Anthem.
Why does it feel like the world is ending watching that anthem lol.
What was the last part about?
The station identification? WSBK is the station, KNO-94 is probably a transmitter/translator.
Oh okay.
I think It says "WSBK-TV STL KNO-94".
+essvee86 "WSBK-TV STL KNO-94" slide.
SwordsmanRyan it’s their studio-to-transmitter link which sends the video & audio from the studio to the transmitter.
