I love how he tried to continue, like he totally forgot he works with a table full of absolute children and he just made a dirty joke in front of them.
I think it also comes from their history of having accidental dirty jokes, but pretty quickly collecting themselves. Matt had faith in his friends and wife to come to their senses quickly.
Being deep into pandemic times (November 2020) probably helped a lot :p

I feel Matt's pain. In my current Curse of Strahd campagne I'm DMing for my friends, I went to describe a creature as "Ghoastly" and "Spectral" at the same time and said "Ghostral".
It's been a month and I'm still catching sh*t for it.
"Ghostral" is a legitimately cool creature name, though. I might steal that.
In the last session of the campaign I'm in, I tried to say 'guy' and 'gate' at the same time and just said 'gaaaaaay' really extended because I realized what was happening halfway through.

I love how each individual person had their moment that kept the laughing going. Sam waited until literally everyone else was past it then has this diabolical eyebrow raise at 5:56 He smells blood and immediately pounces at the mostly recovered Marisha. The table was ready to move on but he needed to poke the bear again. I love how he stars it with "You're a child, Marisha" and eventually gets sucked in at the end.
The beauty of this is that they were able to infect a new set of players with a 2.5 year old giggle fit.

It's more like it's not like "real D&D" because your shouldn't expect your players OR DM to behave like paid actors at the table when in "real DnD" you're just playing a game, of course it's different, maybe the only exception is with Dungeon Masters you pay for.
It's not a knock against critical role, what they're doing is their real dnd, but some people expect way too much because their only experience with the game is watching people who are at least somewhat monetarily incentivised to be as interactive, descriptive and entertaining as possible. And that probably isn't going to be the "real dnd" they get to experience.
I have missed Ashley doing the queef sound at the beginning and just noticed it.

If you fail a wisdom saving throw at the top of every round you take 1 D8 shiver and Queef damage from laughing your ass off until you succeed on the saving throw which you can attempt at the end of your turn. Any allies within a 30 foot radius also take 1D4 shiver and Queef damage as long as you are affected.
