Started building an Alpha Legion army. Starting with 1500 points. The to do list is Vigilator as warlord, one contemptor dread, one apothecary to go with an assault squad. One recon squad with nemesis bolters. One tactical squad, headhunter kill team with meltas in rhino, 2 javelins with base weapons (missiles and heavy bolters), a sabre strike tank with autocannon, and a heavy assault squad with auto-cannons. Wanted to build a team that moved around the board quickly while also covered the board. Sorta thematic.
I'm collecting a traitor Ultramarines force atm, building up 3000 points for some narrative events this year. As for my most feared Raven Guard unit, it has to be the dark Furies, I've had them pretty much table my Alpha legion army one game. I had no reliable interceptor or close combat so they just walked through my back lines!
I've been playing Raven Guard since 2.0 dropped, my go to for Mor Deythan is smaller teams of combi-volkite with a melta gun or two. I use them to pop dreadnoughts or smack around elite units that want to deploy forward. For terminators my go to are the Deliverers. 10-15 cataphractii showing up to ruin someone's day makes a statement, though watching your videos I have started to add in some tartaros.
A great collection! I've been an RG player for a long time and have enjoyed some of the alt picks the most. A Vigilator is not the best rules-wise but with an infravisor he is a kick-ass assassin and always provides cinematic moments in the game (I play him solo as a good candidate for the RG special reaction). I've been playing a null-deploy Decap Strike list with Mor-Deythan, a tac squad and the Vigilator infiltrating once the opponent has deployed to take out any MoS, then everything else Deep Strikes via jump packs / Deliverers. Another favourite unit as part of this is Assault destroyers, charging with meltabombs out of DS is great fun and they are useful against other T5 units too with their Rad Grenades. The best bit is the cool modelling opportunities, after all the RG invented the Moriatate!
Beautiful collection, every time you do these videos mr winters I have to stop what I’m doing and go back to paint my thousand sons (you know the tricker legion), one day I’ll fight a raven guard army as gorgeous and prove who is the more sneaky legion
Great army, I’m a Raven Guard player and the one thing missing from your army for me is the Deliverers, they’re a really fun fluff unit that are incredibly good and add some more of that close combat power. They can deep strike in and also great in zone mortalis games. I’m jealous of those javelins though! They’re great but seem to be out of stock on most of the time recently, plastic kits would be incredible.
Magnificent stuff! I have been collecting heresy Thousand sons myself and I am trying to lean as much into psykers as possible. They take a while to get the hang of. Would you ever think about having them play on your channel?
1st of all beautiful force winters. I'm not far from finishing my 1st legion in hh the word bearers. I'm very much looking at Raven Guard next. I've got loads of tacticals & daemon stuff, so a fast jump pack force with lots of sneaky infiltrate & stealth style force really interests me as my next legion. Plus, dark furies & corax are so cool.
I agree about javelins. Wish they were plastic as I would add loads to my night lords. Do need to add some rhinos as I have none in over 8000 pts. Looking to add some solar auxilia next though.
Great army, was thinking about Raven guard and the list building (decap strike) is really tight in a good way, normally one would be hyped to have something like Dark Furies in Fast Attack but given the limitations it's downright cruel and unusual! It's quite good balancing as well because it really hampers you trying to just spam Mor Deythan and Furies, as you really need things like Javs, dreads and maybe rapiers for some much needed anti-tank and apothecaries if you want some durability.
Boxnaughts are actually a very good way to get some fairly cheap lascannons in a decap strike list. With 2 guns each you get 4 BS5 lascannon shots per model and they're only 165 points apiece. Plus you can stick a Helical Targeting Array on them for interceptor. You can also swap out the lascannons for plasma cannons, which are quite nasty against infantry.
I have about 9500pts and counting of Forgeworld Raven guard, started in the true horus heresy black books (or red books). Then rolled it into 2.0, started to add more now, waiting on cataphractii to arrive which im looking forward to. My whole army was built around the drop site massacre, only has 2 rhinos, and 1 predator. The rest are troops speeders, and 11 dreadnoughts😂.
Hi Winters, is there any chance we can get a basing guide for these? I appreciate they're resin scultped bases, but I struggle getting the blending right with all the flock and grass, so I'd appreciate seeing how you do it!
Wow the entire raven guard legion
I love the army overviews! Happy to see the ravenguard army in all of its glory

Such a beautifull army. I am so exited every time you play them.
Making me want to get back to work on my Night Lords and Alpha Legion. Great looking army!
Awesome list, can't wait to see your other loyalist armies. I'm currently working on 2 traitor armies. World Eaters and Night Lords.

Beautiful army! Please show off your Death Guard in the same way, I love the way they look
Cool. I like the green on the flexible parts of the armour. It gives them a Cold War feel.

Beautiful!! I am collecting DAs, just building units that look cool and go with the lore.

@@DeusExMachina10001 Oooh good idea, bypasses the techmarine for rapiers. Can you even still get the FW 'ferrums though? 😞
@@Perkustin Honestly I have no idea, though I'm sure there's some "legally distinct" 3d print option for far cheaper.
I can’t wait to see how you modify the ad mech now that they are going to make plastic robots
I just got started in my Heresy stuff. First up are Iron Warriors and Space Wolves.
I have about 9500pts and counting of Forgeworld Raven guard, started in the true horus heresy black books (or red books). Then rolled it into 2.0, started to add more now, waiting on cataphractii to arrive which im looking forward to.

Great video and an amazing army
The volkite weapons look amazing!
Nicely themed for istvann survivors
Just like Ravens Flight ✈️
Respect for building army how you feel it would be. I'm trying put money to the side for a solar aux force

I appreciate they're resin scultped bases, but I struggle getting the blending right with all the flock and grass, so I'd appreciate seeing how you do it!
I did a video on how I painted them a few months back and I show how i did the bases. Check it out.
@wintersSEO Always bet on Winters. Cheers big man.
Not to be that guy but with a recon right of war you can take multiple heavies, it's just that they MUST start in reserves.
Could you show us how you store all your 40k please
If the list did sing more it would be a Canary Guard list.
Get ready to rumble ! ! !
All sneaky like ! ! !
Its....beautiful
How do you put the March of War Bolters on your recon marines?
Is nykonna sherowkin in here?? I hope he is ...maybe i just missed it
Winters, could you do a video for those of us who might be considering leaving the 40k fluff for the grit of 30k?.
Be wevy wevy quiet im hunting wabbits.
Did they steal Silver-Spoons, yet :)
I've been out of the game for a while now, but I'm genuinely asking, when would you ever field that many points at once?
Tuesday
bro has all of them that exist xD
Wow ! ! !
Caw! Caw! Caw!
