    Just found this . Amazing setup, congratulations. I also have the cxnv2 and I use it with the dac magic 200 as I experiment with MQA and hi res sources. Mine is plugged into Naim pre and power kit here in the UK. One of the best things about this hobby is how we get introduced to new music. Which is exactly what your choice is doing here for me.

    I'm listening on my desktop setup Realistic Minimus 7's powered by a vintage Yamaha Mx-35 amplifier via Topping Dac. Your system sounds nice!! I'm a young old skool equipment lover. I have vintage Yamaha and Nakamichi.

    Is it possible to do the same video with the 275's hooked up so we can hear the difference?

      I believe that they came out in 2006,the 8's was the last of the Watt Puppy, which was replaced by the Sashas,but the same two box design, the top part called the Watt,the bottom portion referred to as the Puppy, a 4omh 170 pound work of art.

    Hey Sarge, Are you running a sub in your set-up?

    • @MixMatchStereo
      @MixMatchStereo  8 หลายเดือนก่อน +1

      No subs at all, I have run stereo subs in the past, two Mirage BP 400,they were huge, 110 pounds, that was when my system was doing double duties, HT as well, thought about going back to it, not sure I have the space, still considering it.

    Sounds alright, but I don't think the Klipsch are doing that level of equipment justice, unless that 70's sound is what you like.

    • @MixMatchStereo
      @MixMatchStereo  8 หลายเดือนก่อน +2

      I like all sounds if it does my music justice, you said 70' sounds, man I was born in the fifties, I truly embrace the 70's sound, some of the best times of my life. These Klipsch Forte IV are no joke.

      @@MixMatchStereo I was referring to the 70's speaker sound (triangle - bottom heavy, thin on top, big baffles, forward sounding), not the music. Although some of my favorite songs came from the 70's, was truly a time of experimental sounds.

      @DodgyBrothersEngineering yes sir, I just bought the Klipsch Forte IV this Christmas as a gift to myself, I wanted to try the Heritage series so I picked the Forte IV, I wanted to try some horn speakers with some of my low powered tube amplifiers, that's why I made the purchase, my main speakers are the Wilson Audio Watt Puppy 8's,that I purchased in 2012, we will never part, just wanted to try the horns,after I remove the 402, I'm going to run the 10 watts Willsenton 300b integrated amplifier

      @@MixMatchStereo I've never been a Klipsch fan back as far as I can remember (first heard a reference series back in the 90's), and most of their modern stuff is just ear bleeding offensive. Can understand the need for high sensitivity, and to some degree your choice of speakers. But there are many ways to achieve high sensitivity without resorting to horn based speakers, which by their inherent design add coloration to amplify the sound. Don't get me wrong I have heard some nice sounding horns before, but they take up half a room.
      As part of my DIY upgrade I bought some RAAL 140-15D AM dipoles for my open baffle setup which are 93dB sensitive. I also have three of the 140-15 AM monopole which are 95dB sensitive. Why I ultimately decided to go DIY was went I found $29 (at the time) tweeters in five figure speakers.

      @DodgyBrothersEngineering Wow, I love horns if they are done right, now listen to this, I'm 65 years old, I heard plenty of speakers 🔊, mostly at audio shows since 2000,the best transducer that I ever heard, I mean it was so real, so mesmerizing was a horn speaker,a very big and expensive horn speaker,I was blown away, I could feel the air from the trumpeter in my face, I will never forget that experience, the name of the company, Destination Audio, the designer and CEO Sam Wisniewski,I can't afford his horn speakers, so instead I picked Klipsch Forte IV.
