Dead on advice. My Traxxas Revo 3.3 stalls every-time a spin out or hard brake. My idle was closed. Gonna try it after my repair…. After I finally took off the filter, I notice this. I just found out this vid which confirms my issue.

I tried to do it for the first time on my wr8 last week, totaly messed up the enigne...... 1 .25Lt of fuel and about 4 hours later I managed to bring her back to life!! The trick is to make tiny tiny adjutmesnts, i was spinning it round like a top, but tiny tiny movements! Every time you richen or lean the low speed you must make a tiny opposite adjustment to the idle screw. tiny tiny adustments.

I am new to the hobby to and I have one question also. Why does one engine tic over go back to what is normal after a run And then another one the exact same engine and needle settings Both have the same gap and tune Yet one works as intended and the other engine just can’t hold a tune it always holds the high revs never idles back to proper tic over Yet the other one idles up properly and drops back to ticover within the proper alloyed few seconds after a high speed pass. I am leaning towards my change in fuel and why I say this is as follows The bug and my local hobby shop 25% 10 % oil just sucked and did not tune worth a crap. That fuel I added oil to then I worked somewhat better but the tune was still wak Now after researching and buying fuel with 16% oil I am noticing the tune is spot on Do you think my location and or old fuels are what brings me here to ask such questions Do you find this to make such a big difference in tuning Or old bad gas is hard to tune My hobby shop dude said the fuel was old stock how old 🤷♂️ But like I said the 16% oil that works like a charm I’m still learning that’s a fact Thanks for what you do bro you rock Happy new year dude 🥳👊😎
Well if you have two identical engines and one is having issues then maybe it has an air leak or something like that it a slightly blocked jet? Have you looked at the carb?
@@HaggardRC It appears the same with no visible difference with anything. The only thing I can think of is that one car has a 3 needle carb Mabey it is not set properly in the mid needle 🤷♂️really I’m unsure. The one that’s not right the engine is rebuilt and rips. It’s just now sometimes it would shut off like it was almost running out of fuel Almost as of the mid range of the carb is lean 🤷♂️but that I can’t say for sure
My nitro car idle screw/tickover screw doesn’t work. When I turn it it doesn’t open or close the gap apart from when it is fully screwed in it opens the gap a bit. I’ve tried unscrewing it fully and trying to fit it back in the slot thinking that it has slipped out of it but that hasn’t worked and I would appreciate some help as there are no other tutorials for this.
There could be another reason to, the clutch bearings could be bust and binding so I would check those to, if the clutch is binding your engine will stall out when you brake.
@@timothyhatcher8673 clutch bearing take a hammering and usually don't take well to water m8, they can seize up on you when your not using the car. Then when you go again they break. The factory setting should have already been set on the carb, but sometimes manufacturers don't bother. Push your truck along with your hand along the floor, if there's a squeeky noise or grinding noise then it's the bearings that are shot and you'll have to change them. I buy clutch bearings in bulk off ebay for all my different nitros.
I found a .25 HPI engine from my savage 25 and my piston wont all the way up the sleeve it gets stuck 3/4 up the piston is completely stuck if you try to force it all the way up I'm having this problem with a race sleeve not sure if you can make a vid on why this is and how to fix it if you could make a video on how to fix it I would really appreciate it
You don’t need to fix it, that’s how it should be. That means it’s in good condition, if the piston goes all the way up that means it’s worn out. When the engine is together, use a heat gun to heat the engine up, get it really hot and then it’ll turn over fully and start 👌🏻🙃 I’ll make a video explaining it when I can.

It’s not really an issue, it’s normal for the wheels to spin a bit when it’s off the ground, if the car doesn’t try to move when it’s on the ground it’s fine. If it does, lower the tick over a bit 👌🏻

I had the same problem on my FXT Zorro and adjusting the idle screw sorted it. Got that advice from a previous video you put up, so cheers. 👍😁

Or another thing if it stops while driving it could be the transmitter with the receiver that it needs to be binded set up.

Could be a clutch issue then dude. Also if it has a slipper clutch they can come loose and slip too much. Causing your exact symptoms 🤘🏻😁

Yeah you can buy pull starts I usually buy two so I have a spare :)

Nah they’re easy, take the engine out then you can get to the 3 or 4 bolts holding the pull start on 😃
