They did try to get it working on xbox 360 ,and xbox one but none of them worked well

My big hope is that this work they're doing can translate somewhat well to TC2 when it eventually shuts down and much later on TCM as well

im happy to be a part of the TCU community and was able to help in some regard to the project. all up to the main mods now! (wont say who they are for obvious reasons)
also keep in mind the videos are from the people developing the game not some random person who was able to get into the game -.- (thats what it sounded like from the video sorry)

No, we need to shine a spotlight and make this project as popular as possible so ubi sees it and gives the game back. The more popular the project is, the more people playing or working on it.

From what ive seen them talk about on the Discord it seems like they’re gonna try and implement some form of server emulation for the game on consoles as well using dns or something but they also said if that comes it won’t come until much later after the pc version works. I would still take this as a grain of salt tho

@@ObeyAdrian_ it wouldn't be possible without having a jailbroken console to the point that its not even worth the effort for like 4 people. + only ps4 people because thats the only console that has The Crew that you can jailbreak but you'd have to be on a specific firmware to jailbreak it so again it wont even be worth the effort.

Unfortunately I don't think it's playable on console these reopened servers are pc only I believe
On PC programs like AHK can do this. For consoles there might be projects based on Arduino or Raspberry Pi that provide this functionality.

...I have some doubts about this.
The first thing I noticed upon looking over the footage is the server clock is desynced from the pre-scripted events of the prologue. Yes, that does indicate that you are doing the "Offline-only" section of the game, with essentially drivatars. The second thing I noticed... There is traffic. Sid, when you played the game post-shutdown, all traffic ceased because it's a server-side implementation.
We don't exactly know how far you can go on the map before the game officially "opens up." And when it does open up, there's probably a lot of assets that were on Ubisoft's servers that are dependencies - which is why events and skills broke for you during that final session. So even though server emulation got them this far, the moment that the game turns the player loose is the point where everything can essentially fall apart.
So unless the TCU team starts creating a lot of assets from scratch and either A) creates a publicly hosted server that they'd have to pay monthly to run, or 2) create a "sandboxed" single-player server with those procedural-generating bits thrown in, there's no guarantee this project will be worth it.
True. Another hurdle would be somehow getting the game to work after ubisoft took the keys away (probably some kind of different build, not sure myself)
