Writing this on Friday afternoon- it's been snowing! The girls and I went on a walk (Nana watched Rhett) just so we could be in the midst of it! :)
I used to use exclusively powder foundations. To be honest, to get full coverage I used the applicator that came with the product. The foam type "puff worked beautifully! You might want to try this!
I’ll 2nd that “puff” recommendation. I put the powder foundation down with that and smooth with a brush later to even/perfect.
Hi Patti!! yes I have tried it that way - on this product I still wouldn't call the coverage as full as it is with my full coverage liquids, but I agree, you can get a more dense application of the powder :D
@@emilynoel83 Makeup Forever powder foundation is a perfect example of using the applicator that came with the product. Oh Wow does that foundation give full coverage!
I couldn't agree more, powder foundation is a much better application with a sponge, I just commented this same thing.
Illamasqua make a beautiful powder foundation and it comes with an almost velvet "fluff" puff, very high quality. Xx

My Saturday morning is complete. Love a good new at the drugstore haul. Emily I can’t tell you how much your videos mean to me. I’ve been battling a brain tumor since June of last year. It’s so comforting to watch and listen to you. I’m not able to leave my house but I’ve recently started wearing makeup again just to feel normal. Thank you so much for your videos 🥰

I am so disappointed with Milani. WHY did they change that beautiful formula (like Soft & Sultry, Pure Passion etc.)? The new Gilded palettes are so disappointing. I ended up buying this palette just because I loved the color story but as soon as I went to use it I regretted it. ☹️
Soft & Sultry! yes, they were on-point with those & they were so much more like those singles of the old, old Milani days. Just classic, great, pigmented shadows
I hate when that happens. You're so excited and then.....😳😥 not working like you wanted. I went around all day saying I just wasn't happy how my makeup turned out 🤣. However, My PUR eyeshadow stayed put all day and held up great!
@@helenjohnson4118 I felt the same way with these. The look I did didn't turn out the way I wanted it to and that always seems to happen with the new Milani palettes.
@@emilynoel83 yes! Those were amazing especially back then when drugstore didn't have great eyeshadows for the most part. Milani and Wet n Wild were where it was at! The new palettes don't have talc, so I wonder if that's why the formula changed- they may be trying to get away from that.
From watching Emily, Milani is a brand I never used or really heard of, I bought several milani pieces and they have been 1 of the few recommendations I have tried that I just don't like.

Try the powder foundation with the sponge, Shelby did it and the coverage was higher
Agree, i have that same brush she used and while it’s dense, it’s still not dense enough for powder foundation if you’re going for full coverage.
I put a little bit of the L'oreal fresh wear on before I tapped on some of the L'oreal powder foundation and I really liked the coverage.🙂

hi! I've tried the sponge too - still not what I'd call "full coverage" (not as full as my full coverage liquids), but I'll agree it does go on thicker that way, and is probably the faster approach than using the large dense brush. I feel I can get to the same place with both methods, though the brush takes a bit longer. It's just become my preferred powder foundation method because it seems like it works into my skin better as I'm starting to see more lines here & there. thanks!

Try the sponge, as with most dry compact foundations you need to use the sponge!
You would get more coverage from that included sponge for the powder foundation. At least I find I get better coverage on powder foundations with sponges. And the PF Matte Manoi bronzer is a whole new line for them.

Omg same. I bought that LA girl Break Free palette, the purple one. It always went out of stock on Ulta but I was able to scoop it up on sale. Was so excited but it came broken to pieces, I mean not a single shade was salvagable. Freaking annoying!! Lol

When I use a small buffing brush with the L’Oréal foundation it gives me SO much coverage....it’s actually become my favorite powder foundation.

Watching your videos has given me courage to try new things so, thank you. For foundation...I prefer Revlon Candid. It's the only foundation I've ever purchased more than once and have bought it 3x and convinced my sister to buy it. Has many shades and excellent coverage and stays on without amusing or rubbing off. No concealer necessary and I have white skin with red pigment in areas. Try that.
During the Sephora sale I purchased the Hourglass powder - oh my I love it , not happy with what is going on with the Brand at the moment but the product is great on me .

Y'all have all our snow! :)) More cold rain this weekend in Boston. I find the powder foundation work better with sponge application in sections, no overlap. Thank you for the news on the Milani, with my dry skin, such shadows won't adhere. Have a great Sunday!!

I’d be interested in seeing the powder foundation applied with the sponge. I know the makeup for ever powder foundation applies with better coverage when the sponge is used and not a brush.

It's med-full coverage if you use the sponge, and straight on full coverage if you slightly dampen the sponge. That is how I wear it and it is my favorite powder foundation. "Mac is now in the back" of my collection.

My favorite powder foundation is the NYX matte but not flat. I have oily skin and it work great.

You’re not going to get full coverage from a powder foundation if you swipe it on like you would a traditional powder. You have to stamp it on, and then swipe after to blend. That’s why they give you a sponge.
Thank you for reviewing the Ulta under eye brightened. I almost bought it, and now I’m glad I didn’t because I can’t use drying products under my eyes.

I've noticed the same issue with Milani and several other shadows. I started waiting to use the setting spray until after the eyeshadow was applied and before the mascara. That took care of the problem for me. Things that lasted only a few hours now last all day. I can't wait to try out the new Milani palette!
I bought the All Star palette because it was $15 and just the new bronzer was $14 and I love that palette!!! I dont order anything from Ulta because they dont package well and stuff is always broken
I find so interesting that you despice the flakie shadows and try using then dry, when a lot of people wet their brushes or glitter primer, they really look stunning used that way

In regards to broken/cracked things in your ulta order... that's why I haven't ordered from them in the last 6 months. The last order I had, was an absolute disaster. I bought a foundation, which busted all over. And when I say all over, it was all freaking over! Like nearly costing the entire inside of the box. And the 2 eyeshadow palettes, several broken eyeshadows, and covered in foundation. I know shopping problems happen, but the box the used was too large for the amount of product I ordered, and there was very little packing material to ensure a mess like that didn't happen. Unacceptable for a massive company like ulta, which ships mostly makeup, imo.

Happy Saturday 😊 Ulta has been terrible with packaging items for shipping!!! I have had to return or exchange way to many items. It’s pretty frustrating. Then I order5 $5 dollar palettes from Profusion and everyone is individually wrapped in bubble wrap and then wrapped again! Take note Ulta!

I got elf moisturizing camo concealer, and on my crazy dry skin it looks SO GOOD. Its rare I can find anything that can melt and blend over my skin, it usually sits on top like sand 🤣

I used the L’Oréal powder foundation with the little sponge it comes with and it was for sure full coverage for me. It must be the difference in application methods.

Good morning! I randomly found on eBay that they have the very small lucidity pressed powder sized to fit the compacts you purchased for the girls from Bergdorf Goodman David Aiken. They made these pressed powders in the most purchase of them, that was Lucidity. Bye, Lynn
You introduced me to the doll 10 bronzer which has the red in it and I haven't looked back since.
I own 2 of the shimmering pearls in the individual compacts, and both of them had the glitter overspray. When I got my very first one several years ago, I was so disappointed, but used the overspray as a super shimmering eyeshadow.
I ended up on News Reporter tiktok... there is an awesome new Reporter couple who spend their days speaking to each other like they are reporting the news.... How different was your news reporting voice different than your everyday speak?? You are the best btw

Why can companies not be honest about how much coverage their foundation has? Some of us are steered away even by full coverage claims and then come to find out its medium and would have been perfect for us.
Hello Emily, I really enjoy your videos. Also, happy belated birthday. I will have no problem remembering your BD because it is the same has mine, but my was a "few yrs" before yours. Today it seems like a hit and miss with the makeup.
Emily I have been spraying the setting spray on my fingertips after I apply concealer, then I pat the spray with my fingers on the underye, forehead and chin, etc, I wait for it to dry then apply setting powder, my makeup does NOT move all day. I have been looking for a miracle for all these decades and now I have it. Other TH-camRS have been recommending this with great great results

I bought the Milani Luster Light palette but I haven't tried it yet. It swatches well, and the colors are so beautiful so I hope I don't Have any issues with it!!! When I wear makeup it's usually not for more than a few hours anyway. Little Miss Belle cutting in there with her oh so cute dimples!!! She is such a pretty little girl, and takes after her beautiful mama of course!

I love that L''Oreal Infallible Powder, but I used it over a light foundation & I used the sponge it comes with. It does give better coverage with the sponge. Has become my new favorite powder
