I used to use exclusively powder foundations. To be honest, to get full coverage I used the applicator that came with the product. The foam type "puff worked beautifully! You might want to try this!
Hi Patti!! yes I have tried it that way - on this product I still wouldn't call the coverage as full as it is with my full coverage liquids, but I agree, you can get a more dense application of the powder :D

I am so disappointed with Milani. WHY did they change that beautiful formula (like Soft & Sultry, Pure Passion etc.)? The new Gilded palettes are so disappointing. I ended up buying this palette just because I loved the color story but as soon as I went to use it I regretted it. ☹️
Soft & Sultry! yes, they were on-point with those & they were so much more like those singles of the old, old Milani days. Just classic, great, pigmented shadows
I hate when that happens. You're so excited and then.....😳😥 not working like you wanted. I went around all day saying I just wasn't happy how my makeup turned out 🤣. However, My PUR eyeshadow stayed put all day and held up great!

From watching Emily, Milani is a brand I never used or really heard of, I bought several milani pieces and they have been 1 of the few recommendations I have tried that I just don't like.

You would get more coverage from that included sponge for the powder foundation. At least I find I get better coverage on powder foundations with sponges. And the PF Matte Manoi bronzer is a whole new line for them.
You’re not going to get full coverage from a powder foundation if you swipe it on like you would a traditional powder. You have to stamp it on, and then swipe after to blend. That’s why they give you a sponge.
hi! I've tried the sponge too - still not what I'd call "full coverage" (not as full as my full coverage liquids), but I'll agree it does go on thicker that way, and is probably the faster approach than using the large dense brush. I feel I can get to the same place with both methods, though the brush takes a bit longer. It's just become my preferred powder foundation method because it seems like it works into my skin better as I'm starting to see more lines here & there. thanks!

It's med-full coverage if you use the sponge, and straight on full coverage if you slightly dampen the sponge. That is how I wear it and it is my favorite powder foundation. "Mac is now in the back" of my collection.
When I use a small buffing brush with the L’Oréal foundation it gives me SO much coverage....it’s actually become my favorite powder foundation. Love the vid Em. ❤️

Watching your videos has given me courage to try new things so, thank you. For foundation...I prefer Revlon Candid. It's the only foundation I've ever purchased more than once and have bought it 3x and convinced my sister to buy it. Has many shades and excellent coverage and stays on without amusing or rubbing off. No concealer necessary and I have white skin with red pigment in areas. Try that.

I bought the Milani Luster Light palette but I haven't tried it yet. It swatches well, and the colors are so beautiful so I hope I don't Have any issues with it!!! When I wear makeup it's usually not for more than a few hours anyway. Little Miss Belle cutting in there with her oh so cute dimples!!! She is such a pretty little girl, and takes after her beautiful mama of course!

I've noticed the same issue with Milani and several other shadows. I started waiting to use the setting spray until after the eyeshadow was applied and before the mascara. That took care of the problem for me. Things that lasted only a few hours now last all day. I can't wait to try out the new Milani palette!

I used the L’Oréal powder foundation with the little sponge it comes with and it was for sure full coverage for me. It must be the difference in application methods.
Hello Emily, I really enjoy your videos. Also, happy belated birthday. I will have no problem remembering your BD because it is the same has mine, but my was a "few yrs" before yours. Today it seems like a hit and miss with the makeup.
In regards to broken/cracked things in your ulta order... that's why I haven't ordered from them in the last 6 months. The last order I had, was an absolute disaster. I bought a foundation, which busted all over. And when I say all over, it was all freaking over! Like nearly costing the entire inside of the box. And the 2 eyeshadow palettes, several broken eyeshadows, and covered in foundation. I know shopping problems happen, but the box the used was too large for the amount of product I ordered, and there was very little packing material to ensure a mess like that didn't happen. Unacceptable for a massive company like ulta, which ships mostly makeup, imo.
I own 2 of the shimmering pearls in the individual compacts, and both of them had the glitter overspray. When I got my very first one several years ago, I was so disappointed, but used the overspray as a super shimmering eyeshadow.
During the Sephora sale I purchased the Hourglass powder - oh my I love it , not happy with what is going on with the Brand at the moment but the product is great on me .
I bought the All Star palette because it was $15 and just the new bronzer was $14 and I love that palette!!! I dont order anything from Ulta because they dont package well and stuff is always broken
Emily I have been spraying the setting spray on my fingertips after I apply concealer, then I pat the spray with my fingers on the underye, forehead and chin, etc, I wait for it to dry then apply setting powder, my makeup does NOT move all day. I have been looking for a miracle for all these decades and now I have it. Other TH-camRS have been recommending this with great great results

Happy Saturday 😊 Ulta has been terrible with packaging items for shipping!!! I have had to return or exchange way to many items. It’s pretty frustrating. Then I order5 $5 dollar palettes from Profusion and everyone is individually wrapped in bubble wrap and then wrapped again! Take note Ulta!

I agree about Ulta packaging and shipping. My order came last week with the box partly open. Luckily, all my products were in tact but it was disappointing.
It’s funny that you mentioned that Ulta needs to be a bit better with their packaging it seems lately my packages have been arriving with little to no bubble wrap.My MAC mineralized skin finish arrived completely broken 😞
You have to use a sponge with pressed powder foundation. Think about it, when you fluff it around with a brush, you are breaking apart the particles of the powder. They need to be intact to provide full coverage. Those products come with a sponge for a reason. If you absolutely must use a brush, use a very dense one. That BK brush is too big and a little too fluffy. Loose powder foundations like BM follow different rules, but you would actually get easy and fast full coverage using a sponge with that one too.
I love that L''Oreal Infallible Powder, but I used it over a light foundation & I used the sponge it comes with. It does give better coverage with the sponge. Has become my new favorite powder

I used a flat top dense kabuki brush and got a lot higher coverage. Probably somewhere between the coverage you got and the high coverage that a sponge gives that I used to spot conceal.
Which primer would you recommend that you can wear alone WITHOUT foundation on top ?? Something just to make your skin look tighter and brighter ! I don’t need the coverup part....
I have pretty large pores. I just watched a video where Em recommended the Maybelline Master Blur Stick primer and WOW! It’s the only primer that I’ve ever put on and actually saw a lasting benefit to my pores. They have tinted ones and a clear version.
Could you try less shadow in the crease and upwards and play up the lid more? Heavy shadow in the crease seems to pull the eye down a bit. Thanks for the reviews.
The soft and sultry & Pure passion Milani pallets from 3 or 4 yrs back were the last good ones from them. They were great. Package even looks and feels high end. I still use mine.. But for whatever reason they changed the formula. And they don't perform right now. They need to go back to the older formula.
Applicators have a lot to do with coverage, sponges that come with a powder/powder foundation give lot more coverage. Also while using a brush, stippling a layer first instead of buffing also helps, spraying water/priming sprays on to the brush makes it even better. So its not entirely the powder's fault, it's about the technique.
The eyeshadow palette reminds me so much on the CP Garden Variety, minus the matt glitter shades. Not surprised the lip balm is great, Catrice is getting better and better at that product category. If you want to see what’s coming next to the US, try their EU website ;)

I've used a dampened fuzzy sponge with the infallible powder and got a full coverage. It's really nice. I love the the butter palette but I wish one of the bronzers were darker too. Watching u and watching it snow in wild, wonderful WV. Oh I just kept buffing off the overspray and it was much better. Even took a tissue across it for a few time.
Can you do a WHATS in my purse or what’s in my everyday makeup bag. I’m sure everyone would like to see what you carry with you everyday. I get so many ideas what people carry and need for their day.
I always use a more dense foundation brush for powder foundations like this so you can really press it into the skin to get that full coverage just my thoughts

I couldn't agree more, powder foundation is a much better application with a sponge, I just commented this same thing.
Illamasqua make a beautiful powder foundation and it comes with an almost velvet "fluff" puff, very high quality. Xx

My favorite powder foundation is the NYX matte but not flat. I have oily skin and it work great.

Agree, i have that same brush she used and while it’s dense, it’s still not dense enough for powder foundation if you’re going for full coverage.
I put a little bit of the L'oreal fresh wear on before I tapped on some of the L'oreal powder foundation and I really liked the coverage.🙂

I used the L’Oréal powder foundation with the little sponge it comes with and it was for sure full coverage for me. It must be the difference in application methods.

In regards to broken/cracked things in your ulta order... that's why I haven't ordered from them in the last 6 months. The last order I had, was an absolute disaster. I bought a foundation, which busted all over. And when I say all over, it was all freaking over! Like nearly costing the entire inside of the box. And the 2 eyeshadow palettes, several broken eyeshadows, and covered in foundation. I know shopping problems happen, but the box the used was too large for the amount of product I ordered, and there was very little packing material to ensure a mess like that didn't happen. Unacceptable for a massive company like ulta, which ships mostly makeup, imo.
I own 2 of the shimmering pearls in the individual compacts, and both of them had the glitter overspray. When I got my very first one several years ago, I was so disappointed, but used the overspray as a super shimmering eyeshadow.
During the Sephora sale I purchased the Hourglass powder - oh my I love it , not happy with what is going on with the Brand at the moment but the product is great on me .
I bought the All Star palette because it was $15 and just the new bronzer was $14 and I love that palette!!! I dont order anything from Ulta because they dont package well and stuff is always broken
Emily I have been spraying the setting spray on my fingertips after I apply concealer, then I pat the spray with my fingers on the underye, forehead and chin, etc, I wait for it to dry then apply setting powder, my makeup does NOT move all day. I have been looking for a miracle for all these decades and now I have it. Other TH-camRS have been recommending this with great great results
Good morning! I randomly found on eBay that they have the very small lucidity pressed powder sized to fit the compacts you purchased for the girls from Bergdorf Goodman David Aiken. They made these pressed powders in the most purchase of them, that was Lucidity. Bye, Lynn
I’d be interested in seeing the powder foundation applied with the sponge. I know the makeup for ever powder foundation applies with better coverage when the sponge is used and not a brush.
Thank you for reviewing the Ulta under eye brightened. I almost bought it, and now I’m glad I didn’t because I can’t use drying products under my eyes.
Happy Saturday 😊 Ulta has been terrible with packaging items for shipping!!! I have had to return or exchange way to many items. It’s pretty frustrating. Then I order5 $5 dollar palettes from Profusion and everyone is individually wrapped in bubble wrap and then wrapped again! Take note Ulta!

I agree about Ulta packaging and shipping. My order came last week with the box partly open. Luckily, all my products were in tact but it was disappointing.
It’s funny that you mentioned that Ulta needs to be a bit better with their packaging it seems lately my packages have been arriving with little to no bubble wrap.My MAC mineralized skin finish arrived completely broken 😞
You have to use a sponge with pressed powder foundation. Think about it, when you fluff it around with a brush, you are breaking apart the particles of the powder. They need to be intact to provide full coverage. Those products come with a sponge for a reason. If you absolutely must use a brush, use a very dense one. That BK brush is too big and a little too fluffy. Loose powder foundations like BM follow different rules, but you would actually get easy and fast full coverage using a sponge with that one too.
I love that L''Oreal Infallible Powder, but I used it over a light foundation & I used the sponge it comes with. It does give better coverage with the sponge. Has become my new favorite powder

I used a flat top dense kabuki brush and got a lot higher coverage. Probably somewhere between the coverage you got and the high coverage that a sponge gives that I used to spot conceal.
The physicians formula glow pearls do have an overspray but they also have a gentle shimmer in the powder too! Very nice finishing powder 👌👌
Which primer would you recommend that you can wear alone WITHOUT foundation on top ?? Something just to make your skin look tighter and brighter ! I don’t need the coverup part....
I have pretty large pores. I just watched a video where Em recommended the Maybelline Master Blur Stick primer and WOW! It’s the only primer that I’ve ever put on and actually saw a lasting benefit to my pores. They have tinted ones and a clear version.

Could you try less shadow in the crease and upwards and play up the lid more? Heavy shadow in the crease seems to pull the eye down a bit. Thanks for the reviews.

The soft and sultry & Pure passion Milani pallets from 3 or 4 yrs back were the last good ones from them. They were great. Package even looks and feels high end. I still use mine..
But for whatever reason they changed the formula. And they don't perform right now. They need to go back to the older formula.

Applicators have a lot to do with coverage, sponges that come with a powder/powder foundation give lot more coverage. Also while using a brush, stippling a layer first instead of buffing also helps, spraying water/priming sprays on to the brush makes it even better. So its not entirely the powder's fault, it's about the technique.

I've used a dampened fuzzy sponge with the infallible powder and got a full coverage. It's really nice. I love the the butter palette but I wish one of the bronzers were darker too. Watching u and watching it snow in wild, wonderful WV. Oh I just kept buffing off the overspray and it was much better. Even took a tissue across it for a few time.
Can you do a WHATS in my purse or what’s in my everyday makeup bag. I’m sure everyone would like to see what you carry with you everyday. I get so many ideas what people carry and need for their day.

I always use a more dense foundation brush for powder foundations like this so you can really press it into the skin to get that full coverage just my thoughts
