Just wanna mention that Teleport can be used in a smaller area, because you can TURN while casting it, but it's hard to do. I was literally shook when I figured it out.

My first run I don't think I used it, but I did still beat him. I don't remember how, but I know I didn't use it bc I would've healed Jeff, who was nauseous at the end of the fight.

Something I learned from someone else doing a no PSI / Items challenge through the whole series of Mother games is that numbness is a nuisance and a half to get hit by. Considering Ness learns paralysis, it likely would have been a huge help here, too.

Actually the moles even bosses are susceptible to paralysis making them super easy
This is a very fun video to watch not only because the challenge is interesting but also because the background footage is sped up so Ness looks like he is hauling ass to to get to the end of the game!
Quick answer: nope. It's simply not possible. During the final battle with giygas you need to pray as Paula. But with out Paula... Yeah.

i like this video, so i don’t want what i’m about to say to come off as rude. but i think that the first 10 minutes before paula joins the party are kinda unnecessary. because of course the game is possible solo up to that point, you don’t have any other party members! definitely going to check out some of your other vids tho
Yea thats a completely valid point and I do agree with it to some degree. I guess my mindset was that I wanted to show off the full game and leaving the beginning was my way of doing that. I'm not sure when, but I will for sure be doing this game in the future, so ill cut out uncessary stuff then. Its also a learning curve for me being newish to this type of video, but at least that means it will only get better from here! Thanks for the criticism though seriously, I want to improve as much as I can and these sorts of comments are gonna help me out.

Theoretically you could ALMOST do it, but Gigigigigigigas foils your plan, but the rest of the game where you have Ness should be doable
Earthbound/Mother series challenges are fun. I'm currently routing Mother 3 without bashing or offensive PSI.
Damn how is that going so far? Is it aggrivating?
I ground exp. my party to get Lucas the PSI Shield ♎. Luckily, there is an early grind spot. Where I'm at now is Chapter 5. I have to grind to get Super Bombs for my whole party because there are 3 bosses and no way to get back to my money grind spot after I beat the Forlorn Junk Heap. Also, money grinding takes a long time.

You can also use the Debug Menu to add or remove party members entirely

Ill take the fall on the pinky thing, I messed up by not calling him Picky. However im too stubborn so both Pokey and Porky are canonical names. Its Pokey in Earthbound and Porky in Mother 3

ooo this would be a fun Handicap run. Heres one for ya..play the game without purchasing new weapons, whatever weapon the character first gets, thats the one they use the entire game. Its really hard..Jeff ends up being the most physically damaging LOL good video man!
That does sound like it would be interesting doing a starting equipment only run, but why not double down and do a no equipment run? Sounds even worse right?

Did you know that you can access the debug menu from Onett, with only Ness and a few Skip Sandwiches, and use the "teleport to room" function to instantly beat the game?

Huh. I just grind to level 8 for the Shark fight to get PK Rockin'. Helps out a lot in early game, at the cost of some money and time.

My brain was so hard wired going into happy village that I completely forgot about that possiblity, It would've made my life easier for sure.
I think there was a bug where in the GBA port you can use a poison snake to kill Giygas
@@mstech-gamingandmore1827 Yea thats like the only bug I know about this game, that and I know your game can freeze if, in the very end of the game, you fight a mummy in the Summers museum while escorting Paula home.

@@meteorkaiser in the Japanese release of mother 1+2 there was a bug that allowed you to kill giygas with a snake,i have no idea how you could possibly get a copy of that game or the one with the bug

@@meteorkaiser i am pretty sure its scripted for you to actually damage him with psi/bash/etc but i think in that version it didnt expect you to have a viper or use poison against the embodiment of pure evil
finally someone else who pronounces it ONE-ette. it just makes way more sense that oh-nette or ah-nette
fun fact: the thing that makes captain strong so strong is whenever he loses his temper it increases his offense by about 10 and his submission hold is DEADLY whenever that happens so you better hope you get a SMAAAASH or he misses (if he misses his submission hold/grapple it can be deadly for him) so just try to strategize and grind before you fight him and if your playing earthbound on the nintendo switch you can actually create a save point before you fight his “strongest” men and you can also rewind these things have gotten me to the end of the game extremely fast you can rewind whenever a boss or enemy uses an op instakill ultra godly super duper attack and there will be a chance that the attack they use will be randomized. ill add more tips soon (if i dont forget about this comment and if i get notified)

It's not possible to complete with just Ness, but using hacks, I was able to finish the game with only Ness and Paula (Using a wallhack, you can go straight from the pyramid in Scaraba to the cave of the past)

You sadly didnt know but at mondo mole just use paralasyis bc all of his attacks are physical so he really cant do anything when you use it and it takes a few turns to get out of the numb state for him so use paralyses and tthen just bash

No, you can't because you need Paula's Pray ability to simply defeat giygas.
theres a glitch with the viper where you can defeat him instead of just praying but i think that was in a hacked/super famicon/japanese version of earthbound

basically u have to go to a specific place and mash a bunch of dpad inputs so the game clips a pixel on the normally unaccesable land in twoson, then u need skip sandwich to clip to the tunnel that isn't stopped. and the glitch to have a critical condition textbox once u enter the stairs in the graveyard in threed, u can warp to summers or something
