  • 12-22 Log Splitter with Box Wedge is perfect for cleaning the punky edge off of Oak, leaving you with beautiful smoker wood. Box wedges are one of the best options for breaking down huge heavy rounds. They are still a lot of hard work, but much safer and easier than your traditional horizontal log splitter wedge.

    While it is satisfying to see a huge round go through a box wedge, it is certainly way more work that you had to do. Any reason you didn't split that round down into more manageable pieces using a splitting axe and a dead blow mallet (used like a wedge)? The punky edge could have been easily split off and the remaining round could have been quartered then run through the box wedge.

    • @hardworkingmanoutdoors
      @hardworkingmanoutdoors  ปีที่แล้ว

      I tried to split one up with a splitting axe when I got them a while ago and it was a lot of work. Didn’t try adding a dead blow sledge to it though.
