Looking at how well old ereaders hold up over time, despite less fancy features, they don't need the processing power or storage like phones do, and their battery gets far less cycles when you charge it biweekly vs every day so old ones still work. Just like book exchanges exist.. maybe an ereader exchange of sorta at a library could work?

Ah, you got the Denim color version. The black version purports to use more recycled materials. I’m tempted to get one, but I already have more than a few Kindle e-readers. I’m practically hOarding them! 🙈💦 In order to be “environmentally-friendly,” I need to consume less. I did get a 2021 Paperwhite 5 Signature Edition for my brother 🤔🧐
The smaller size and lack of warm light are deal breakers for me, I only read before bed so the warmer light and bigger screen made the Paperwhite a must.

Hi, yes you can listen to audiobooks with the kindle if you’ve purchased the audiobook through Audible or if you’ve purchased the audiobook through the kindle store. Unfortunately there is no text-to-speech feature though.

When buying this version, if you don't get it with Kindle Unlimited can you go back and get the 3 month free trial? Or do you only get that when purchasing?
Keep an eye out on used goods sites, every time gadgets are released with updates, there are going to be some folks that get rid of their old devices that are perfectly functional. A friend got a kindle that's a couple years old for $30 off Facebook marketplace. I found a much older Kobo for $15 at Value Village that I gave to my mom.
I have a Kindle 4.1.1 that I bought about 10 years ago. The battery weakens. Is it worthwhile to attempt a replacement battery?(NewPower99) I am reluctant to buy a new one, for fear of it being less effective in managing my vast collection of pirated PDFs that I convert to MOBI with Calibre. Any comments? (or a link to one of your previous videos that address these two key issues....)
