Heard this song today for the first time- I went to band practice and one of the band members pitched this as a cover- I had never heard of it or the band- ever. Which is really odd- I thought I had pretty much heard of everyone that was worth hearing of- I'm in my fifties and have been a music fanatic since I was 10 so... but somehow, I missed Firefall completely. Not much guitar in it tbh though- not a really exciting song to play but- it's easy enough and ppl seem to like it so- why not. That said- I really didn't feel like taking the time to break it down so- thank you, you made it easy. Idk about this band tbh- they're really talented and they're cool ppl but- they're stuck in the past really bad and don't seem to understand what ppl want to hear when they go to a bar or a party or whatever. They keep wanting to play really old, cheesy stuff that no one has listened to in decades- and there's place for that, there really is- but it's not the bar and it's not at most parties. It's not al like that- they play a lot of modern stuff to but- then they'll turn around and do some old Motown thing and I'm lost as hell- what? Man, I play classic rock and heavy metal- Idk know jack about no "Rock'n Robbin" or "Heat Wave"- I would feel so weird playing that kind of stuff. And they do one called "Will you still Love me Tomorrow"- wtf? Didn't we just get done playing some Rush and Smashing Pumpkins? Now we're gonna follow that with "Mr. Postman" - Idk man- I know we need to have a large pool of covers we can pull from so we can play wherever but- there are places I personally don't want to play. I'm not playing the local nursing home man- I aint there yet.
Strangeway is an excellent, almost haunting tune masterfully done originally by Firefall. "You Are the Woman" and "Just Remember I Love You" are also excellent.
