  • Here is a much easier setup that I have created for escaping the Foothill Monster Den, which can then be used for Hestu Scamming and Armor Desync. This one uses GAS warping instead of lift storage warping as the latter is significantly more difficult to do on v1.2.1.
    Steps:
    1. FE a weapon or shield to mineru and cold fuse a steering stick to the weapon/shield
    2. SDC into the Foothill monster den. Recommended: save your game before proceeding to the next step
    3. Mineru FE a weapon to any slot
    4. Cold fuse a steering stick to the weapon and SDC with it
    5. Fuse the SDC stick to a shield
    6. Mineru FE a zonai device (must be able to consume battery) onto the same slot as the weapon by dropping the SDC shield and swapping to a different one before closing the d-pad
    7. Fuse the zonai device to the weapon
    8. Cull mineru and swing the weapon before unculling
    9. Fuse a random item to mineru on the same slot as the zonai device
    10. Go to the entrance of the cave and trigger the dialog with the two npcs, back out of the minigame
    11. Walk back a bit until you can ascend, then immediately go back down after ascending to trigger an autosave.
    12. Escape the cave and travel to Selmie's Spot, play the shield surfing minigame without fast traveling (you must have the sidequest "The Duchess who Disappeared" completed to start the minigame)
    13. Go into the water in the nearby cave and drown yourself
    14. Once you respawn at the monster den, talk to the npcs to start the quest
    15. Wait for the time to run out and fast travel away
I do have to give some credit to the Japanese glitch hunting community for coming up with the idea of using GAS warping to escape the cave minigame instead of lift storage warping. I didn't think of it when coming up with an easier minigame escape setup for newer versions as I previously thought it was impossible to escape with only GAS.
Note: This was recorded on v1.2.1 on Ryujinx emulator for the purpose of capturing footage, but can be done on any version of TotK (assuming the proper setups are used) on an unmodified system
