Easy to remove the old filter but I STRUGGLED to get the top back in place, after inserting the new filter - took a ridiculous amount of time to get it properly engaged. Ah, well, finally got it all in place and working! (old filter was really quite black, so deffo worth doing, thanks for video that propmpted action !)
Do you not drain out the fuel first using the little drain plug at the bottom? I was under the impression that leaving a load of fuel in the filter housing meant that as you take the filter out any dirt and crud around that filter and in the bottom will mix in the plastic housing meaning it can then get sucked through to the injectors etc?
The drain is for water. The clean fuel is taken from the centre of the filter. So you can put it in fuel and it won't cause at issue so long as it doesn't spill over and in! 👌🐷
@@PiggyPower 👍... Think type I mention may be only 307 and 407. Certainly my old 307 has it and it's a pain. Just done it and this time ok....I think!! Secret seems to be to do it when engine is still hot ( or pretty warm)..hard plastic seems less likely to crack and seals better too.
i have had one time the lid was too tight, and i rounded off the hex at the top. ever since i've used a webbing strap-wrench instead. (even on a new lid) Did your filter come with a new spring?
@@PiggyPower Hi, today I’ve changed the filter on my 306 1.9 d ……pre hdi…. The filter is elliptical. The problem I have is refitting the fuel pipe fully home. The lid of the filter housing has a stub pipe which has an annular thin raised feature. Squeezing the clip….green in your video….and pushing the pipe fully home, locking over the feature I’ve tried to describe, does not work. I wonder if there is a special pair of pliers available to squeeze the sides in, and then pull the pipe fitting fully home, and lock it in position ? Thanks.
@@californiadreamin8423 i done this a few weeks ago and you dont have to push the tabs (green) in. They just push on, can be a bit tight. The green tab is only pushed in to release it. Thats what I found anyway.
@@davidmilloy5810 Thanks for the info. I visited a friendly garage and the mechanic simply pulled with both hands. It was very tight, but it moved and a loud click proved it was locked.
Yes! Maybe one of the lines has been replaced on? Look out for the later ones having round filters. Just check with the parts store 👌 and if it's Siemens management...it will have a primer bulb, not an in tank pump to prime the system 👍🐷
@@PiggyPower thanx .Then it must be a Siemens as it does have a prime pump. Would you know it there would be a valve to let water in fuel out from bottom or is this a seldom issue ?
I need some help (it’s not related to the video but nobody could help me here where I live) I must replace the glass of the sunroof on my 307(hatch) because someone broke it. Gears where working ok before the glass was broken. My cuestions are, all those glasses are the same? Someone told me there were two different sizes for the same model. Is it just “plug and play”, I mean, I just screw the bolts that hold the glass in place and it should work fine or there’s some kind of adjustment? Thank you so much! Greetings from Uruguay.

Clearly those two faults you have will relate. A turbo not working after 3000rpm doesn't really happen, you've got a limp mode of sorts limiting fuel, which might feel like a failed turbo. You need to diagnose!
@@PiggyPower it may be because the fuel is leaking from the fuel filter housing. it may be the problem with the turbo. sorry for the annoyance and thank you very much for your help

Glad you did it none the less. The new one needs more downward pressure than rotation to engage it 🐷👍
liking the new opening credits
Thanks...it's the same one I use on all my guides, for about 2/3yrs now 👌🐷

Bit harder with the 3 hose versions that screw on and are a bugger to tighten enough not to leak but not crack if you nip up too much...
This is the only type on the 306 iirc. The type you describe maybe the 206? This does have 3 hoses though. One lower down you don't need to touch

Yeah they are a bit trickier. Not that much though. Technique is key

Wow. I've never managed to do that! Nah, I've yet to see them come with new springs

does the same apply for an xud
well more or less the same?
Different filter and housing... Very easy on an xud though. Need to prime it yourself with the primer.
I'm here with 1996 citroen zx 1.9 xud
Great should be roughly the same on Peugoet partner 2003 2,0 Liter ? Although mine has a rubber bellows on one of the lines

No idea. But presuming it's just screw in/out. Only one way to find out!!
how do you cycle the ignition please
i know, it's a diesel 😉 I think he meant the starter - -
I did NOT mean the starter!
Cycle the ignition on/off. As in, turn it on and then off and repeat 👌
