What does it mean if the boiler water doesn't change colour after 10 minutes?

There are few reasons on why there is no color change.
      1. Absence of analyte: If the test sample does not contain the specific analyte or substance that is meant to react and produce a color change, then there will be no observable color change.
      2. Incomplete reaction: Sometimes, the reaction between the analyte and the reagent used in the colorimetric test may be incomplete. This can happen due to factors such as insufficient mixing, improper reaction conditions (e.g., temperature or pH), or an inadequate amount of the reagent.
      3. Colorimetric limit: Each colorimetric test has a specific sensitivity or detection limit. If the concentration of the analyte falls below this limit, the color change may not be noticeable to the naked eye.
4.Interference or masking: Sometimes, other substances present in the test sample can interfere with the colorimetric reaction or mask the color change.
      5. Incorrect procedure or reagents: Human error, improper procedure, or the use of expired or incorrect reagents can also lead to a lack of color change.
If you encounter a situation where no color change is observed during a colorimetric measurement, it is important to troubleshoot the experiment, verify the presence of the analyte, and evaluate the test conditions to identify the cause of the issue.
