    Do you boil your own leave litter? Would be cool to see a video on the collection and prep process

    Amazing. I have a question - will the little critters regulate their population? I wonder if there's apossibility of overcrowdign when they are as prolific as some are

      I always feed my isopods once a week, the amount depends on if they eat it all or not, start wit a little but always make sure they have dried leaves

    Hi a great video! Thank you for sharing. I used to have white dwarf and powderblue for a long time. But they never breed at the level that you have in your tubs. Is it because of fish food you feed? I used to feed them banana peel and snake shed skin.

    There are no Armadillidium montenegrum. Zebras are Armadillidium maculatum.

    Thanks for the video! What brand of fish scale food do you give them? Do you have a photo of the bottle? Thank you!

      I honestly just buy the biggest bag I can find at the pet store due to how many isopods I need to feed

    Your fish tank lettuce reminded me I have to get leaves from my pond for my isopods, they absolutely love it (after a quick wash)

      @@BigRedsIsopods It's a really good source of nutrients for them (and millipedes, roaches etc), soaking leaves in a bucket of water outside is something I used to day before I had a pond.

    Hello. Do you introduce the leaves wet? Do you collect them directly and do you treat them or are they purchased? And... how often do you change the substrate and in what way? Thank you

      When you prepare leaves for isopods: you can collect leaves from your local area, they prefer non waxy , non citrus leaves.
      Boil your leaves for a couple minutes or you can put them in the oven for a while. And thats it, you can feed them to your isos

      Thanks rawavocadomeat3129, I’ve given them to them wet if you have a well established colony then it won’t be a problem but if the leaves arnt being eaten right away it could cause mold witch could lead to health issues with your isopods.

    I have lilac, birch, red bud, and willow in my yard. Can I use them for leaf litter?

    • @BigRedsIsopods
      @BigRedsIsopods  11 หลายเดือนก่อน

      Birch and willow will work great and I’m sure you could try the other two as well and see if they eat it or not, just make sure there dried out so you don’t get MOLD
