Tough to invest in pitchers knowing they almost always end up on the shelf for at least a year...... Skenes could win 200 games and still his cards will never be worth more then what they are now.

This auto charge is amazing. I knew a company who would tell others to bid up the price so it didn't sell for cheap. Instead of getting a card for $1 you really had to pay $5

Topps update is going to be nuts just to get the Skenes card, you will not able to buy them in any retail store, scalpers will take every one of them.
First pitch cards are great....a staple of mid 2010s topps products. Look out for the 2015 Topps Jordan Spieth First pitch card in the bargain boxes :)
I'm a fan of the autocharge, but I hope eBay figures out a way to make it easier to allow you to send items to the vault when you get autocharged. As far as I know, the only way you get the option to send a card to the PSA vault is if you add it to your shopping cart and then choose that option at checkout. But that doesn't work if you make an offer and it gets accepted and the seller has autocharge turned on. I would imagine this issue will be the same with auctions. I know you can set up an address in eBay using your PSA vault address, but I don't want to use that as my default, becuase I don't want everything to go to the vault. I shouldn't have to remember to switch my shipping address every time I want to submit a bid or make an offer.
I pulled a stroud auto out of the series 2 but it didnt have a auto on it. Tried to get ahold of topps. Waiting to hear back

I have been saying it for years. All these companies charge alot of money for all these bogus insert cards. There is no need in all these different sports that they keep adding all the old timers either. Every year they should select a few and add them. They need to cut down on all the different parallels, no need for 100 different colors. Having hundreds or thousands of 1 players rookie card is insane. Just my thoughts.
Couldnt agree with you more, also they need to cut down the SSP card on the bust rookies like Holiday

They aren’t going to print less, I want more inserts more parallels more numbers more trash autos, this is all better than the alternative; which would look more like an average Upper Deck release with base out the wazoo and like 2 players to chase. Enough complaining to complain. What does it matter if 1% is gold in 1 million cases or 500k cases. It’s more fun this way not less.

Travis Hafner actually has a baseball card with that "Chicks Love the Long Ball" slogan on his bat knob. It's his minor league card from 1999 when he played for the Sand Gnats, in their team set and the all-star sets

Put your money into Kershaw cards over Skenes! Kershaw is a sure fire first ballot hall of famer. Easily the greatest left hander to pitch since Randy Johnson in my opinion

Geoff states that Mike Trout has never been to the playoffs. That is not true. In the playoffs he is 1 for 12 with one home run and three walks. But Geoff's overall point is still valid, that Trout doesn't have much of a playoff resume to show for.

If you can afford it in 5 days, you can afford it now. Credit cards exist for a reason. Hopefully it’ll discourage the non payers from even bidding in the first place.
Non payers isn't an issue. I have auctions ending on Sundays and the last 3 weekends, only 1 non payer. I don't have the same issue as others. Plus this won't stop shill bidding at all. You can put in a fake number into eBay. It's not hard to do.
Also, series 2 is nice, not great. I like the lower print run and it's making me look forward to Chrome and Chrome update.
From what I heard you can't put a fake card number they run the card to confirm number and bank not a charge

Main thing is different rookies. Same with Update Series. Topps releases 3 Series each year to cover all the rookies that get called up throughout the year. And of course there's always different photography, autographs, memorabilia cards, parallels and short prints in each series too.

A few counter points. Baseball buyers buy more into hype than anyone. How many 6 figure sales are there of prospects that haven't played in a single major league game.
The clemens comparison is laughable as clemens cards still took years before they got high enough.
Randy Johnson is a better comparison and yet his cards are still criminally cheap.
Hype is the post covid hobby. It ain't just baseball effected either, its hobby wide.

Im the opposite of tpott... the consignment companies need to have it off. They are they ones that we all use to build lots. But if they force us to pay for shipping on all items then so many of us will be out.
