We have a lot of new viewers thanks to this one, if you enjoy figuring out what the hell is up with these games nobody likes we have a playlist of our other attempts at understanding why the fuck these exist th-cam.com/play/PLSczh1jKYg36mntnYJl1SYQnRn33W70MI.html
I never thought id ever see a game perfectly distill the raw emotional feeling of seeing a harry potter airbnb adult arguing with someone about if steven universe was good or not.
16:45 I never thought a game could match the Saints Row reboot’s pulsepounding discussions of healthcare and hazard pay, but by golly this game does it.
This is the peak of Oberlin-Langley design and development. It looks like total garbage and everything it says it does feels like it was made by a dude who rewrites Anders Brevik's manifesto into tumblr therapy language.
i find disco elyisums idea of a "dystopia" in a post war period in a occupied city just way more compelling as greater more oppressive forces lord over you. the normalcy that tries to be upheld as people accept the current reality and try to move on and pick up the pieces it feels way more politically relevant than any of the trump era art/media made by liberals. like this game trying to depict a reactionary fascist takeover it sucks and is so fucking boring it feels like such a self parody all this fucking crap feels like some self parody.
It was mentioned in the stream but I’m genuinely curious as to why these narrative heavy, low gameplay games are all like this. What is it about this style of game that attracts this type of annoying millennial? My best guess is that they know this shit wouldn’t fly in any other medium (even streaming services) and making a game with actual gameplay mechanics is either too much work or just not something they developers have any interest in doing. Also, I blame game development university courses for like 90% of the industries problems and this absolutely reeks of that.
I think it's because they know this wouldn't fly in any other medium. That and a lot of these devs hate video games as a medium for being "for bros" and want to make something that spites every game that people consider to be "good."
Government funded games need to be like government funded movies in the USSR, where the government also invested heavily in creating the first film schools and movie funding was approved by people educated in the field.

No joke, I once worked with an obese queer woman from Halifax that was obsessed with Borderlands. I feel this game was made for her and her alone.
"it is actively trying to kill us" is a fantastic opener

This game feels like a barfight but instead of broken beer bottles it's kombucha bottles, and im covered in ants.
This game feels like a power fantasy of someone who works at Paris baguette part time in downtown Portland OR,
This game feels like the gray paint all over a Hilton hotel bathroom from a vriska cosplayer who suddenly got a call from mom about her grades.
I come to the kemonofriendzone stream for all my found family gaming experience.
YIIK was a warning.
Video games desperately need a John Waters or Gregg Araki like figure

"I hate you because i can't manipulate you." Just lost my sides.
Why are these games always about being in a band?
the creators need to pretend they're talented
I feel like the white haired enby character was supposed to be Israeli but was rewrote at the last minute
@@sempervirens6170 White South African who left for Hong Kong/Israel after Mandela became president vibes.
this seems like a story podcast that got too much money and became a videogame on accident
they really just made the perfect specimen for anyone arguing against DEI to point at
I would love to see a picture of the development staff

What a weird misanthropic shitty game
I had more sympathy for the cute robot bus driver than any of the human protagonists.
Well, I'm da dustborn baby!

Why is this just Saints Row(the bad one) 2?
this is really something...
This game feels a bit like a psyop (and that's why they named a character Sai).
5 minutes in and I think Millenials shouldn't write video games.
1:00:40 Serb saying he's not gay
Madame savvy introduction me to this
I think it’s cool!
This is probably the single greatest argument against goverment funded video games. What the fuck is this shit?
Government funded games need to be like government funded movies in the USSR, where the government also invested heavily in creating the first film schools and movie funding was approved by people educated in the field.
