- This video shows the enormous multinational D-Day 50th anniversary flyovers in Portsmouth and Normandy, culminating with a parachute drop of almost 1,200 troops from 17 C-130s.

Omg I was there having traveled down from London that morning...sat on front at Southsea and had a great view all day..Cant believe 30 years have passed since then..

Watched it from HMS Dolphin where I was serving at the time.
I remember going to Yeovilton on the Saturday and Portsmouth on the Sunday to watch the flypast

My Grandfather was in the RNAS during WW1, the earliest days of aircraft carriers. Although they were amalgamated into the RAF after WW2, the RNAS were still represented here in 1994.
