  • With this badge, I want something a little more subdued, so I'm taking it off to paint it a darker color. There are very few aftermarket options to replace this. You will see the customization process I use in a future video.
After doing some research, it wasn't really clear what exactly holds this badge to the car. It turns out to be one double-sided adhesive foam on the underside. There is also an outer foam seal that keeps the elements from getting underneath.
If I were to do this again I would have let the lighter fluid (Ronsonol) do more of the work. Also, I would get some longer flatter tools to help separate the seal. You should get a good idea of what you'll need after watching the video should you decide to do this.
This was shot with an Insta 360 Go2 and rendered in 4k with Camtasia video editing software.
Stay tuned for the painting of the badge. Thanks a lot for watching.

I bought the SALEEN trunk panel, it was difficult because I couldn't remove the emblem, but after watching this video, I will try again~!

I was wondering how that came off! Was considering an aftermarket one. I may reconsider. I thought it was bolted on.

Yeah, the middle of the badge has a double sided adhesive seal that holds it on. The outer seal is just foam with no adhesive. I did some modifications to mine, and it's now using a bolt to mount it instead of adhesive. That way, I can put an original one back on if I ever decide to sell the car. You can check it out in this video I made recently: th-cam.com/video/N4ok7Y1TV94/w-d-xo.html
      Thanks for watching!

Nice! Heat gun is a good idea if careful not to mess up paint

Thanks bro! I ordered one and am planning to try it out later tonight or tomorrow. Also got a plastic razor blade thing, so hopefully don't mess up anything. I'm planning to put on another wrap regardless unless it looks better without. Stay tuned for the video!

I just rewatched the video to try to understand why you might have thought it was hard to watch. Nothing was damaged in the badge removal, in case that's the reason you didn't like it. I have since replaced the badge and the vinyl, so you can rest easy if you thought I damaged anything. If you thought it was hard to watch because of the way it was filmed, I'm not sure what to say except this video was made in my early days with youtube. Regardless, thank you for watching the video.
