My kitten just passed from this tonight. It was going to be his 1st birthday in a few days. He’s no longer in pain but I wish I could’ve done more. Our vet and I tried so much and i know he knew he was loved by all that got to experience his beautiful self. He had so much love around him and led a great life while he was here. Sorry to dump this here. Please go hug and kiss your kitty babies.
I'm so sorry for your loss guys, I just had to surrender my cat because of this. I couldn't afford her vet care. I pray she gets rehomed to someone that loves her as much as I do, but Im expecting the worst.
I have so much respect for a vet. They have to be sooo smart becuz animals cant tell u whats wrong or how much they hurt..... God bless all u vets out there
@@VeterinarySecrets And they also hurt as much as the parents of the animal do, but they cannot show it , they have to be objective. As in any profession there is a flip side.
actually, vets are even smarter than that. Human doctors only know about healing one animal - humans. With just a few variables for male/female. Vets have to know about all animals !!! cats, dogs, horses, fish, birds, hamsters, snakes etc etc.... and each animal has it's own metabolism, skeleton, variables, etc etc......
I have 16 cats that I rescued plus their kittens. I had to literally fight with my oldest for his life day and night. He loves chicken and I think that moist chicken may have saved his life! I'm still helping 5 kittens get through it now. I am poor and struggle to make sure food bowls stay full and there is no money for the vet. I just saw hungry cats on the street and wanted to help but now they own me and I must listen when they say they don't feel good! Thank you for all your advice! You are literally a life saver!
Thank you, after giving Lysine to my kitten for only 3 days her uper respiratory infection is going away, and the sweling on her eyes is completely gone, she also eats and drinks better, she is happier and she likes to play more.
Thank you for this video, my poor Persians both have it, and have been spending so much money at vet for each flare up because I get so scared, this made me feel so much better & im gonna try all of this!
I am baffled as to how our cat has become sick. She does not go out, none of us are sick, and we rarely go out, so very little outside contact. Here our poor cat is stuffed up and sneezing. She is drinking, eating, and resting. I feel so bad for her and I am so grateful to have found your video, thank you for your help.
I'm so glad I found you! After spending a lot of money on my baby girl... She still not doing well. She's lost so much weight. Her first flare up was in July, 6 months later another. Both times the vet gave her a antibiotic shot that is to last for 10 days. Not working the second time. I've bought so many different cat food and treats. She only wants people food. She won't eat wet cat food or dry. She is so very weak and my heart is breaking.
She needs supportive care- ie being given water via oral syringe or subcu fluids. Squirt in a liquified canned food. As for treatment consider L-lysine, eldberry extract
Wish I had watched this months ago. I've been going out of my mind trying to get my cat better. She has been through 4 different rounds of antibiotics and wasn't getting better. I finally started treating her naturally here at home giving her the steam showers and most of everything you mentioned here and she seems to be making progress. There's a few here I didn't know about.
I give my herpes kitty some L-lysine with food. It really helps! Have you tried it? The Kitten Lady is also a super informative channel. These 2 are amazing!
@Faima Arta Just regular steam. I take them in the bathroom and run the shower on hot to steam up the bathroom. I also have humifier I take in there and just add water to it for extra steam but if don't have one the shower steam can help too.
My cat has his! I just adopted him 3 weeks ago and noticed he had a flu. Sneezing constantly and had yellow eye buggers :( took him to the vet, discarded aids and leukemia and they told me he probably had herpes virus. They gave him a treatment and it worked for like a week but the symptoms have started showing again 😢 good thing is he’s super active and has a good appetite so I hope that’s a good sign
@@SophFramboos so much better now!! He is so healthy! No signs of the herpes now! He battled with it while he was a baby but with the vets treatment it went away and now he’s a healthy cat. We know he still has the virus but he hasn’t had symptoms ever in so many months!
@@Ki7777Ki id say just listen to your vet. En case it gets worse take it again for a new checkup. My kitty got so much better in like a month of treatment and it’s been healthy since then. Now it’s almost 1 year old and didn’t have any symptoms again
I’m dealing with this right now. I used Tobramycin on my cats eye and her eye became so swollen. I had no choice but to take her to the vet and as usual they tried to push all these additional tests. They wanted to charge me $874. I said her eye wasn’t this bad until I used the tobramycin and I think she’s having a bad reaction to it. So now she’s on Tobradex and Doxycycline and then this morning they called me to go and pick up Gabapentin. She has no congestion, no sneezing. She’s running around playing and appetite is fine, she just had discharge coming out of her eye. I’m giving her L-lysine with her food and I’m hoping her eye heals fast.
Hey my 4 month old kitten is in the same situation as your cat. She's playing and also eating well by God's grace, but her left eye recently became runny (clear discharge), i hope your cat's eye has healed now. Did the l-lysine treatment work for your cat ? Thankyou in advance, pls reply 🥹
Your videos have been putting me at ease, I came home today and my 7 month old Binx ran up to me and his eye was swollen. The wash cloth has helped his eye so much already, don’t think he as FIV but bringing him in soon just to get him checked out. Gussie was too cute btw! 😸
I rub the triple antibiotic cream around outside if eyes and that helped my cat. Also a antibiotic cream that worked amazing that stupid California banned because it worked too good. Forgot the name though. Everyone forgot to add pink Himalayan salt or Epson salt in vaporizer to bring out nasty stuff like at beach ,haha.
I appreciate all you share. It helps so many be better aware of their pets health. Would you consider doing a video on treating eye and respiratory infections in kittens?
Thank you for providing this info doctor. My 1 year old cat got an upper respiratory infection from the animal shelter as a kitten. I adopted her at 6 weeks old. At that time she wasn’t doing well at all, not eating or drinking, sneezing, snot shooting out of her nose, lethargic, and draining eyes, high fever as well. The vet at that time prescribed antibiotics and gave a fluid injection in her subcutaneous tissue for dehydration. She’s still trucking along now, has a big appetite but the problem is her eyes still drain a brown color discharge everyday. I wipe it with a warm cloth. I think she has the virus and will carry it for life. I will try the lysine.
The humidifier and lavender oil had been working wonders for the sneezing that was the only symptom my older cat had. She’s had the treatment since last Thursday when I bought the oil and humidifier
I read that somewhere after using it for my little poowie cat for weeks and weeks and he finally got better and then I read that. I put it on his nose and eucalyptus on their chest and it worked but yes if like to know if it's harmful. It seemed to really help them breath and get better.
Thank you. Just had my cat at the vet, over $700 she's really not much improved. Was sent home with eye drop, antibiotics, anti-inflammatory, etc going to go natural from now on.
@@brendat5527 hi, I gave her this paste called enisyl-f ... there's another name for it, I'll add if I remember. I washed her eyes with cooled teabags. And gave her very wet food because she wasn't drinking much. That was my biggest worry that she would become dehydrated. I've kept her on the paste, she gets some every now and then and I don't feed her much fish. As I understand it cat's that have had flu shouldn't have much, if any fish.
Thank you soo much my 12 yr old cat has been having issues coughing, sneezing ect. I immediately put him in a warmer more cozy room in the house put him on wet food and have a humidifier running in his room 24-7 and he has an appointment with his kitty doctor Saturday morning because I am soo concerned. I've had him for 10 years and this is the first time this has ever happened and momma is big time worried.
Just purchased your feline supplement blend for everything, but especially the l-lysine. Looking forward to trying it as well as the rest of your sound and extremely helpful advice. From my sneezy little buddy and me, thank you!
He's had a cough for a few months now... At first, I thought it was hairballs, then I waited a little to see if it would go away on its own, but it didn't. It wasn't until I gave him Ultimate Feline, HomeoPet Nose Relief, a little colloidal silver, IVM, probiotics and a little salmon oil in his food that the illness began to progress. His nose ran for 2 days after, but his cough is improving, he's eating better (salmon oil helped him to smell his food), he is not throwing up like he usually does (he's been pretty pukey since I got him), and he seems happier. This one is hard to treat bc he is an incredibly picky eater and he HATES being fused with... The vet wants to give him 3 more vaccines, so we don't want to go there. I was very worried that I would be unable to treat him. It has been a huge relief to see him make this turn for the better. I love my cute buddy very much. Thank you for the tips and info. You helped me save his life.
I have a kitten that at 6 weeks old caught the herpes virus from a rescue cat with a runny eye. The kitten stopped nursing but drank so i put 500mg capsule of lysine in their water. The kitten was better in 24 hrs and started nursing again. the cat and kitten i have been keeping on lysine in the water since and will keep them on it until the kitten is older and weaned
Wish I would have known this years ago. I had a cat who discharged from the nose and eyes. A vet diagnosed him with this disease that would get worse and I was told there was nothing I could do and to put him down. It was one of the most difficult things I had to do. His blood test they said he had an infection and his kidneys were affected. Knowing what I know now, I know I was lied to. My cat never changed his appetite and hunting habits. But he sneezed and drank water alot!
Bro thank you so much I have been asking friend who have cats and they just said its bacteria and stuff but it was kind of obvious it wasnt thank you so much you explained a lot hopefully my cats will get better
My kittens have this & it’s pretty bad. I didn’t even know mom had this virus until I took my kittens to the vet to get checked out & I was told it could get passed through mom.... I feel so bad...
I’m tending to six feral kittens and a majority of them have had it and it went, and it came back just a couple of days ago. It’s heartbreaking and honestly a little overwhelming. I can’t imagine how they feel. We just clean their eyes and some sort of eye drops
Omg, my baby had it and we took her to the vet. She got antibiotics, eye drops and pain meds. Well all of my cats got it but this one got it the worst. Now she's got an awful cough!! It's new... I'm terrified... I haven't heard him mention a cough yet... I dunno what to do. I'm paying a vet bill for another kitty... 😔
I just subscribed I have been watching for about a month now I'm sorry I didn't subscribe sooner but I just want to tell you thank you you have helped me with my cats a lot with your remedies right now I'm dealing with the feline herpes virus my mail is so sick and my little female is sick too and I'm so worried that if I don't get them under control the other two will get it so I've been trying to keep them separate as possible but your suggestions work and I just thank you so so much
I am confused about L lysine now. My 6 month old cat has Herpes and I bought a tub. However reading recent articles it says it is not good to use this. I am now at a loss to know what to do.
Our cat, who has always been healthy…started discharging in his right eye about 3 months ago. It spread to his left eye and he also has a runny discharge from his right nostril. It seems chronic now despite the fact that I clean away the crusted dark goop that accumulates in the corner of his eyes and nostril as soon as I see it 2-3 times per day with warmed green tea. It hasn’t worsened, but it won’t stop. I can’t imagine where he picked it up as he’s not in contact with other cats. It sounds like what you are describing here but the only symptoms are the discharge.
How's your cat doing? My cat is in the same position- always been healthy but showing the same symptoms. Her eye has cleared up over the week but she's still sneezing.
Same thing.. seemed to get better…then flared back up. He’s got a snotty right nostril that won’t clear up…and eyes are still weeping….still treating with green tea. Glad your girls eyes have at least dried up. Don’t know where this came from as our cat is very isolated.
How’s your cat doing now? Mine has been going through the exact some issues for almost 2 months now. I’m thinking it’s chronic at this point too. Have been doing lots of home remedies because giving his antibiotics will help for like 1 week and then just flare back up again
I have 3 cats with the herpes virus. I rarely have flare ups. I use lysine powder everyday, and each cat has their own food bowl. I also got a fountain type water bowl with a filter that I change often. This prevents them from getting germs. I also limit change. It's hard at times, but changes cause flare ups.
@@VeterinarySecrets Dr. Jones, with the new research on the efficacy of L-Lysine treatment; what is your opinion on its use? New studies, they say, shows it is not effective and even could be harmful and exacerbate the disease. IDK who the studies were funded by but it would be good to know as the veterinary powers that be could be doing want us helping our kitties at home; or it could be a legitimate study. Also, does it make them sleepy? Does it increase resting respiratory rate? My 9 month old tuxedo, Sebastian has been on it for several days to a week and seems sleepier or sedate. He has calicivirus which is why we tried it. Thanks for any information! Love your videos. Thank you so much!! ❤️
I'm doing organic cat food, and at Sprouts they have SOVEREIGN SILVER BIO-ACTIVE SILVER FOR IMMUNE SUPPORT 8oz Dropper Ultimate Refined of Colloidal Silver. I usually put 5-6 drops in my cats water, and once a day put 1 dropper eye each day you'll see a difference very soon stay away from GMO foods and try using Alkaline water. My cats eyes were so bad the vet in Oceanside,CA gave me oitment that made it even worse not to mention my bill.BUT THIS WORKS FOR MY CAT GUYS. ALL HOLLISTIC
wait i took my cat to the vet and they prescribed him antibiotics (clavamox) ive been giving it to him since monday and its friday today..its been helping him eat and drink water and stay active but i don’t know what i should do i just want the best for him 😢
My fur- baby has been dealing with flare-ups since late September. The medicine our vet gave us stops it for a bit, only for her symptoms to come back. It's been really scary, and at this point, my fiance and I are willing to try anything to get her into remission.
Even when everyone thought there is no cure, I’m still surprised how your medicine cured me Dr Igudia. I just pray you stay safe out there everyday because the Herpes1&2 patients needs you more than ever. Thank you for coming to my aid, you’re a great doctor.
Thank you so much. Awesome video. God Bless you. One of my cats was diagnosed with the herpes virus. She's a rescue when I found her I thought she was missing an eye. One of her eyes was closed shut. Months later they diagnosed her with the virus. I've been giving her the Llysine. Wonderful video.
I used water boild from neem leaf take a handful of the leafs and boil with water till the colour of the water changes to dark yellow.. I than i use the water and spray it on the effected area twice a day and about 2 mil slightly diluted with water till it gets light yellow then I make her swallow it you got well in two days
I have always did a little rescuing on the side and I rescued an orange kitten with a terrible eye infection. Took him to the vet twice and then that vet recommended a specialist, Kitty ophthalmologist. Almost $200 dollars later I was told that he had feline herpes and it possibly may have already spread to my other two cats. I was heart broken. I’m here to for these natural remedies. Thanks.
Any idea of what to do for ulcers or agenesis? My kitten have this in his eyes! I really appreciate what you do & how you tell us pet parent’s. Thank you so much. Keep up the good work!
I am pretty sure my cat had all of this for at least three months all this sneezing I finally got it under control with medication in the nebulizer, giving him breathing treatments plus lysine and then I went out of town and I think I stressed him out by leaving him at the boarding place now he has pink eye and blepharitis and it’s to the point where I cannot see his eyeball. All I see is his eyelids and third eyelid. All swelled up. I keep going to the veterinarian. What can I do ? I wanna be able to see his eyeball and I can’t because his eyelids looks swollen.! They gave me I ointment which is an antibiotic, but I can’t even get the ointment close to his eyeball because I cannot get to his eyeball because the eye lids are in the way..
My cat is having a flare up. He already takes lysine and I’m a bit desperate bc he’s not eating well and he’s an orange fat cat.... so for him not to eat he must be suffering. Thank you so much!
I have a question ? I've been taking care of a stray cat, for two months she showed up with the inside of her lid covering her eye. She sleeps on my porch basically my cat. I have 4 cats inside my home, i took to the vet today. The vet said it looks like she had herpes at some point, gave me eye drops and pills and vaccinated her for herpes. I took her a shower gave her the meds. I just brought her outside which i didn't want too cause i cannot keep her in a carrier. I'm afraid for my other cats which i rescued them all from outside of my home. What should i do? He told me to get all my cats vaccinated but, it's alot of money and he didn't test her for herpes either. I don't want to leave her outside 😔 I stay outside with till 2 or 3am not to leave her alone.
I’m honestly at a loss. We’ve been to the vet 4 times within these two months. All they keep on tell us it’s herpe virus and left eye has been irritated so much. I hate to see him like this and all they keep on doing is prescribing antibiotics. I’m pretty sure it’staking a hit on his stomach health. I hate to see him suffering
We moved house 3 months ago (which stressed the cats first of all) and now have carpeted floors plus ducted heating for the first time since getting the cats and dog from a shelter 11+ years ago. All three animals are scratching more (no fleas) and have all had a slight discharge from their eyes at one stage. One cat, however, is sneezing like crazy atm with lots of congestion :-( I have just plugged in the humidifier and am ordering more for other areas of the house. I will give colloidal silver for the anti-viral effects and shall get some L-lysine, too. Thank you so much for your advice. I'm looking forward to seeing how this all goes :-)
@@VeterinarySecrets Thank you. One cat is on the up, though she seems to go between constipation and leaking a little liquid poo, about once every month. The vet checked her out, said her stomach and stools felt normal, ran some bloods and wasn't concerned. We are changing her diet to see what happens with her stools. The other cat has just today gone off her food and is very quiet 😔 It's possible that she caught the cold, though she's not really showing any other obvious symptoms. She did a few days ago eat a small amount of old dry cat food about 2 days ago, that didn't smell right - had been in the garage for about two months. Could this have had an effect, even if I took it straight off her when I noticed it looked a bit weird?
Thanks for this. I'm going to give the supplement a try. My poor boy was born from a cat hoarder situation. Luckily his herpes only affects the eye, he doesn't seem to have nasal problems, but it is still unpleasant for him. Hopefully I will return here in a few months and have good results!
Thank you so much for doing these helpful videos! Wow so glad I ran across your channel! Have dogs cats kittens and horses! Ha 😊 Our new kitten had an eye infection, draining and closed a couple weeks ago so I put apple Vinegar on the back of his neck soaked on a rag and It went away, as far as I could tell! Well...this last week has a bump on his nose that has hair on it and his breath stinks. The bump or cyst is growing everyday. Eats and plays like he's not sick. Wondering if If it's ralated to this virus. Have animals near him and hope they won't catch it. He was sneezing but quit. Can't wait to check out all your videos! Thank you so much for offering your service to animals! Peace always:)
Doctor can i send a photo from my belly cat to know if is this problem or other? Tk you. she understressed due a hot weather here in Brazil. Really appreciate your help. She is 11 yrs
I thought cats would get the same diseases we get. They can get Aids, Anorexia, Leukaemia, Influenza, which is quite shocking. The fact that they can get Herpesvirus too is quite terrifying, especially when it's VD.
I bet you'd have a lot more success if you looked into whole herbs. They are much safer than the man-made "natural" isolates which only create more problems down the road (and really are not very natural when you think about it).
Sleeping Lioness - Watch my video here th-cam.com/video/aAjVtD8JX-c/w-d-xo.html . Give the Saline solution eye drops as described 4-5 times per day in both eyes.... and if the virus is more deeply rooted, use Lomatium Dissectum, a natural herb grown in nature which is a strong anti-viral. I use the preparation known as LDM-100 by Barlow herbal up to 2 drops 2 to 3 times a day for a cat under 10 pounds. You can mix it in food, divide the dose in half give 2x as many doses throughout the day and dilute in chicken broth or mix with a Slippery Elm syrup and give 5 minutes to 30 minutes before meals. I hope that helps.
I was just at the house of a cat foster and all of her cats are sneezing like a squeaky toy and acting like they have a hairball would that be a herpes virus?
My cats are indoor cats I have three they have never been in contact with any other cat i’ve had them going on three years and now they had an outbreak of the herpes virus it started with one and now all three have it my concern is it started with one and I took him to the vet and it took a week to get back the results letting me know exactly what it was they did put them on Antibiotics while we waited for the test results and now that he’s getting a little better my other two are starting with the sneezing and watery eyes I just don’t know since my one cat is getting over it and the other two are Just starting their symptoms Will my other cat get another flareup while he’s still recovering , Sadly the vet I’m going to is no help
Hi my 13 yr old boy has his first eye issue, vet said there's a black spot that's dead about the size of a match head it had white cloudy infection around it so he gave a antibiotic injection and sent us home for 6 weeks of eye cream twice daily, then back to see if it's healed and/or do a graft to remove dead area, he goes completely feral even on grabbing scruff then runs away all day when we 'try' to administer cream, what's your thoughts on not doing cream? We are absolutely distraught as only option we can see is removing eye if we can't get him to sit still so we can add cream to eye. Any help would be amazing thank you
My cat has been having flu like symptoms, she has a runny nose and a red line on her nose that just wont go away. She has been on treatment for her fast working thyroid. I was wondering if it might be side effects or herpes. She is also a shelter kitty and 16 year's old now. I plan on def discussing this with my vet vext time me and kitty go
Thank you so much for posting this video. I currently have a cat that’s going through a flare-up. I just started giving him the lysine. How long will it take to kick in? He’s sneezing non-stop. :(
My cats nose was very warm, and today his right eye is like pinkish but not watery, doctor do you think he passed the virus to me? I am so so so scared!!! 😭😭😭😭😭 I ordered an eye drop for my cat 😭
question doctor.... my dog, just diagnosed with diabetes, his left eye is getting weird, that bottom lid they have it is staying up. its red, now white eye boogies i keep wiping off the white eye boogies, but I've paid the vets over 3,000 in two alc, for this diagnosis for diabetes his insulin is 200 a month vet recheck every 10 days is 250-300. for tests, and this allergy med, and antibiotics for his swollen, allergic feet but his eyes, can i use teabags?
irish K wow! Too much $. I have used Vetericyn before. My border collie had an issue with that "third eyelid" they call it. Ointment from vet worked at first but it came back. A rancher recommended the Vetericyn to me. Not totally cheap but less than a vet visit. Lasts a long time. Also treats wounds. It cleared up the eye issue. Been using it in the eyes of a feral kitten I've been fostering and for the wounds he had when he showed up. He has the virus as well. Just got him the lysine and some nose drops. He should be eating wet food by now but can't smell it. So we are still doing formula via syringe. He won't use bottle.
I see our little kitten, I clean his eyes but is so heartbreaking to see him like this, I have another baby she was the one we actually adopted this baby came to our house out of nowhere. He had the virus and I am concerned for our 10-week-old kitten but she loves him and goes everywhere even if he is in the carrier she grabbed her yarn and played next to him. Thank going at 2 am to put humidifier for the baby cat and getting my L-Lysine later.
I have a wild cat that live in our neighborhood, we occasionally feed him. But now a days he is having troubled vision, a thin film over his eyes and discharge too. He don't allow anyone near him. He even only eats when we we leave after keeping food for him near him ( he is always like that). What should I do?
God bless you because no Animal "hospital" near me seems to either care or even want my money to assist today and mine is coughing like she is going to die. .
My kitten hasn’t improved that much on her right eye and I’ve been trying black tea for 3 days now.. she eats and drinks water and plays a lot I’m just worried about her eye still because she’s loosing fur around it so that means she’s still scratching it :/
Veterinary Secrets she doesn’t have eye discharge, she just keeps closing her eye every now and then, her eye lids are red if I check them tho, do you think this virus is the reason?
L-Lysine works magic for my herpes I take 3000 milligrams twice a day for the first two days and its gone on the third day.. As soon as I take it the pain of the sore dissipates within an hour .... Its magic.. and I'm pretty sure it will work wonders for your cat also. if you have feral cats maybe you can put some drops in some can food out side but you'll have to be diligent and do it for a long time as most of the cats to get some for a few days.. Good advice Doctor.
The problem with L-Lysine is that it really isn't natural. It is a man-made isolate. Man-made isolate food supplements use only parts of plants - not the whole thing which is perfectly balanced with all the buffers that whole herbs grown in Nature have. The unfortunate truth is that man simply can NOT improve on Nature when it comes to reversing chronic and degenerative conditions. The man made supplements will stimulate but also enervate (weaken). Needless to say, when you take L-Lysine for Herpes, all you do is force the virus deeper into your body. It is bound to come back again and probably will be worse when it returns. Whole herbs on the other hand - especially the anti-viral herbs actually eliminate the problem and they certainly won't make the problem worse because the body can recognize it, use it and eliminate what it can't use. The man made isolates, like drugs aren't recognizable and are just stored adding to the wastes clogging the lymphatic system.
If the world had more people like you, it would be a better place. You make a difference, Dr Igudia thank you for curing my genital herpes virus and introducing your medical products to the worlds
my cat might have herpes he has almost all the symptoms but we cant afford to take him to the vet because its like 40 dollars for a office visit and he is around 10 years old and he really needs to go to another home i dont want to give him up because he is the best cat ever but if we cant get enough money i will have to rehome him to someone that can take him to the vet
Thank you very much for the video, it has helped me understand a lot! I need to know in your video you state the time frames to get the cat vaccinated. My cat is now 1 year and 5 mos old , is it too late to get him vaccinated? I never knew that cats could get sick like this. I am sure that my Tiger has this virus . He has the sneezing spells and also sometimes coughing spells, he has the red swollen eyes that is watery and he also has mucus when he sneezing flying out from his nose. When he first started doing these spells we thought he had like hairballs and was stuck in his throat but its been about 6 I just feel so bad for him. He seems like he is suffering a lot. Only thing is it comes and goes so I thought he was having asthma attacks as well.
My female cat suddenly got a sore over her eye and the eye is red puffy swollen . I'm going to bring her to the vet but for the weekend I'll try keeping it clean and try green tea ..
My cat Thomas has herpes. I put L-lysine in his food. His problem is the sneezing. He also smells really bad around his nose. I've had him to the vet. His smell leaves when I put him on antibiotics, but returns as soon as I stop. Any suggestions?
Dr. Jones, I have the same problem as realcanadiangirl64 . My question is, how much longer does my cat have to be on antibiotics? I mean, she just finished her first round of antibiotics and it cleared up her eyes, her nose, and doesn't stink any longer but she still is sneezing.
something stuck up his nose and rotting. Suggest get vet to look up his nose . Like a kid sticks a pea up his nose and then he starts really smelling and it gets infected. Check that out.
Hi .I have 10 week old kitten one if his eye look like its coming out .:( um its bleeding. And I really don't have money to take him to a vet .I NEED HELP .WOULD THIS terramycin work ????
How many dosage for echinacea 5 drops twice dialy ? Cause in my country there is only echinacea capsul 500 mg. Please answer Doctor, my cats was flu & until now they not recover yet
I stuck between thinking on of my kittens has herpes or an almost upper respiratory problem ): I'm getting some lysine to try and some kitten milk, but she will NOT bottle feed because she can't breathe through her nose.ive been giving her the steam house treatment i.e., taking her into the shower with me so she can breathe in the steam. I ordered a humidifier and a little infant nose suction thingy, but they're taking forever to get here. I've also been putting terramycin on her and her brother's eyes four times a day like told to do so. Help?
I recently adopted a new kitten and had him join my two cats at home. Although after a few days he was sick and so was my other cat. I kept calling around to get an appointment with a vet. I finally lucked out and was told the kitten had herpes. I didn’t know that was a thing and was only given eye drops. So very much appreciate your videos 🙏🏻 thank you! Grant you would like to know what long term effects this might have? Do they get over it?
My girl has been having issues for years and no vet has offered this much help with her herpes. Thank you!
You're welcome
You've explained more in the first 5 seconds than any of the vets I've ever been to.
THIS! YES! THANK YOU!
Please go hug and kiss your kitty babies.
my baby is diagnosed with this too, shes less than a year old and completely blind
God bless all u vets out there
Thanks!
Amen to that , thank for looking after our fur babies ❤️❤️❤️
I have 16 cats that I rescued plus their kittens. I had to literally fight with my oldest for his life day and night. He loves chicken and I think that moist chicken may have saved his life! I'm still helping 5 kittens get through it now. I am poor and struggle to make sure food bowls stay full and there is no money for the vet. I just saw hungry cats on the street and wanted to help but now they own me and I must listen when they say they don't feel good! Thank you for all your advice! You are literally a life saver!
I feel your pain it started with 2 kittens running from an owl one night next thing I know we got 19 lol damn
Great information without asorbing a huge vet bill and keeping your cat on natural remedies vs steroids which damages their kidneys.
Thanks Rebecca
Thank you. My daughter's cat was so sick. I used most of your suggestions and he's healthy again.
That’s awesome to hear! Thank you for sharing!

Does she have problems breathing?
@@louistournas120 she has improved but she is still under weight. Slowly gaining it back and still have no idea how she got sick?
I'm so glad I found you! After spending a lot of money on my baby girl... She still not doing well. She's lost so much weight. Her first flare up was in July, 6 months later another. Both times the vet gave her a antibiotic shot that is to last for 10 days. Not working the second time. I've bought so many different cat food and treats. She only wants people food. She won't eat wet cat food or dry. She is so very weak and my heart is breaking.
She needs supportive care- ie being given water via oral syringe or subcu fluids. Squirt in a liquified canned food. As for treatment consider L-lysine, eldberry extract
start feeding her boiled chicken and chicken broth. milk, goat milk best. real beef. Stop the cat food. See if helps.
Just water steam or with herbal steam? Can you summarise? How is your cat now?
Hows he doing now?
@@SophFramboos so much better now!! He is so healthy! No signs of the herpes now! He battled with it while he was a baby but with the vets treatment it went away and now he’s a healthy cat. We know he still has the virus but he hasn’t had symptoms ever in so many months!
@@Juniperswim14 My kitten currently has this. Any tips? The vet told me to wait it out since she has clear nose discharge...
Thanks so much, you just made many cats lives want to live now because this sickness is just horrible 😢
I appreciate all you share. It helps so many be better aware of their pets health.
Would you consider doing a video on treating eye and respiratory infections in kittens?
Yes please
This is amazing information to anyone who is having these concerns with their pets . THANK YOU FOR POSTING IT !
You're welcome, Robin.
Yes, that is what I would suggest.
lysine crushed up and add to food. Also zinc seems to help.
@@jackfrosty4674 where do u get it lysine
People lysene is tablets at Walmart or CVS or Walgreens. Liquid form would probably be easier. He says the doses too.
Very beautiful cat she looks alittle like my Apple who was euthanized last October how about your supplement with apple
The humidifier and lavender oil had been working wonders for the sneezing that was the only symptom my older cat had. She’s had the treatment since last Thursday when I bought the oil and humidifier
That's good to hear.
i thought these are toxic to cats is that a myth?
I read that somewhere after using it for my little poowie cat for weeks and weeks and he finally got better and then I read that. I put it on his nose and eucalyptus on their chest and it worked but yes if like to know if it's harmful. It seemed to really help them breath and get better.
Thank you. Just had my cat at the vet, over $700 she's really not much improved. Was sent home with eye drop, antibiotics, anti-inflammatory, etc going to go natural from now on.
You’re welcome. Let me know how it goes.
@@VeterinarySecrets will do, thanks again.
Hi. May I ask what you ended up using? Currently going through the same thing with my kitten
Flumax is the other name. I've ordered it online and direct from Vet Post in NZ (they're super fast and helpful). Good luck 🤗
Thanks so much for giving it a try! 😊 L-lysine’s a solid pick for those sniffles - it’s like a little immune booster. Let me know how he’s doing!
L Lysine saved many of my cats

I have tried that a few times and each time it makes it worse. Im not sure why.
How much do you give and in what form?
No you weren't lied to. I have a cat with a very high load of herpes like it sounds like your cat had and none of these remedies help.
It must have been not herpes but something worse.

I am confused about L lysine now. My 6 month old cat has Herpes and I bought a tub. However reading recent articles it says it is not good to use this. I am now at a loss to know what to do.
Its a lie, l-lysine does work
One thing i always find missing from explanation of animal diseases is the duration of symptoms and length of the illness.

You're right. Stress can definitely compromise their immune system hence the flare ups.

I don't want to leave her outside 😔 I stay outside with till 2 or 3am not to leave her alone.

I thought cats would get the same diseases we get. They can get Aids, Anorexia, Leukaemia, Influenza, which is quite shocking. The fact that they can get Herpesvirus too is quite terrifying, especially when it's VD.
I've gotten rid of sneezing, swollen eyes and discharge using herbs. That last time it spread to two cats and it was gone in a week.
Great
I bet you'd have a lot more success if you looked into whole herbs. They are much safer than the man-made "natural" isolates which only create more problems down the road (and really are not very natural when you think about it).
Which herbs and how much per day?
Thank you so very much Emily BH. I just watched your video and read the instructions. Excellent!

A rancher recommended the Vetericyn to me. Not totally cheap but less than a vet visit. Lasts a long time. Also treats wounds. It cleared up the eye issue. Been using it in the eyes of a feral kitten I've been fostering and for the wounds he had when he showed up. He has the virus as well. Just got him the lysine and some nose drops. He should be eating wet food by now but can't smell it. So we are still doing formula via syringe. He won't use bottle.
how about treating a ferral cat for this, is it deadly?
I see our little kitten, I clean his eyes but is so heartbreaking to see him like this, I have another baby she was the one we actually adopted this baby came to our house out of nowhere. He had the virus and I am concerned for our 10-week-old kitten but she loves him and goes everywhere even if he is in the carrier she grabbed her yarn and played next to him. Thank going at 2 am to put humidifier for the baby cat and getting my L-Lysine later.
Has anyone tried the honey treatment? If so does it work?
I have a wild cat that live in our neighborhood, we occasionally feed him. But now a days he is having troubled vision, a thin film over his eyes and discharge too. He don't allow anyone near him. He even only eats when we we leave after keeping food for him near him ( he is always like that). What should I do?
God bless you because no Animal "hospital" near me seems to either care or even want my money to assist today and mine is coughing like she is going to die. .
My kitten hasn’t improved that much on her right eye and I’ve been trying black tea for 3 days now.. she eats and drinks water and plays a lot I’m just worried about her eye still because she’s loosing fur around it so that means she’s still scratching it :/
Best to get it checked
Veterinary Secrets she doesn’t have eye discharge, she just keeps closing her eye every now and then, her eye lids are red if I check them tho, do you think this virus is the reason?
@@alphaaaf7379 yes. lysine
Thanks and good to know
Laura Petrilli yes correct i use l-lystine on powder.twice per day mixes with food. Work great
The problem with L-Lysine is that it really isn't natural.
The man made isolates, like drugs aren't recognizable and are just stored adding to the wastes clogging the lymphatic system.
can I give milk or chicken ?is lysin cats eye drop?
#margarate_franches ans pls
If the world had more people like you, it would be a better place. You make a difference, Dr Igudia thank you for curing my genital herpes virus and introducing your medical products to the worlds
You had genital herpes so you watched a video on cat herpes...
Feline herpes is not genital and is not a sexually transmitted disease. It is highly contagious even through contact with infected bedding.
Im a pilipino fan..im cat lovers thnks for your channel
Maraming salamat for watching! :-)

I LOVE your videos!
Only thing is it comes and goes so I thought he was having asthma attacks as well.
so i am not seeing sneezing or coughing what my cat has is a nose ulcer and seems to be depressed... thank you for this information you shared.
Very good information!!! Thank you!!!
Likely can benefit from antibiotics ( ie clavamox)
Hi, thank you for the info. My kitten (about 2-3 months) is taking Terramycin (3-4 times/day) per vet's order. Any thoughts on that?
If they suspect chlamydia, then this is the drug needed
