This song is amazing. There are little things you can tell she did in order to make her voice sound the way it does. Full of emotion whether it's happy or sad. For example when she sings the line, "leave to the other girls to play" you could tell she's smiling as she says that line.

I moved to France in 1994, along with a backpack and 2 suitcases. My best friend sent me a cassette of Dummy and oh man, it was a game changer for me in my loneliness (French people speak French lol), it made me the best thing since sliced bread having this cassette tape Thank you Christine darls for sending that tape! Eternally grateful ! Also grateful to Portishead , always loved you guys. If you ever want to play in France, come down South (as no-one ever does grrrr). Seriously come here.
What an incredible piece of art perfectly performed and done here and it's definitely a pleasure to listening and watching it again and again never getting bored listening and watching it for a thousands of times over and over........Portishead did an excellent work of art....!!!!!!!
Casi 30 años de este temazo y aún no pierde su esencia vanguardista. Portishead, adelantados a su época, elegantes e hipnóticos en sus melodías,vanguardistas en su propuesta como pocos.
I am from the town portishead near Bristol and without being biased this is probably the best album ever made along with pink floyd dark side of the moon.
I’ve heard of Portishead but never really listened to their music. I just heard this track on someone’s stories on Instagram and WOW! I’m gonna be here a while 👌
I heard this song two decades ago in the movie “Stealing Beauty,” and it became my favorite since then. If you young people see this, I definitely suggest you this movie and it’s sound track, for they are totally awesome!

Problem is, I was happier then. Just know we all have better times coming once the truth comes out.
I found this song 2 weeks ago and then lost it again. I just found it now and i'll make sure never to loose it again. Absolute masterpiece.
Grew up listening to this classic now I'm older I know what the lyrics really mean x
The whole album is quintessential 90s cafe and chill . Do yourself a favour…
Portishead was one of the absolutely innovavative bands! beth gibbons - the voice in this era!
They dropped all the fame after that album and went total Indie, no CD's only vinyl
127 years old. Still listening ❤
Trip Hop lives forever ❤
it's been ages I haven't listened Portishead, and just is still so good! Timeless
What a tune. Chilling voice.
Her voice is legendary 😩😩😩
There's an undeniable sexuality Beth Gibbons gives off from the vocals and almost jazz vibes here that's impossible to ignore.
Love Portishead. True pioneers.
Also love other dark trip hoppers like Tricky, Massive Attack,, Unkle, Allflaws
Tricky IS Massive Attack lol
All the songs used in American horror story Apocalypse are damn good. Ryan Murphy is a genius.
That's true. I've found so many songs that I already forgot ^^
This album is brilliant and one of the best closing tracks.
Seriously come here.
never gets old. incredibly beautiful.
What an incredible piece of art perfectly performed and done here and it's definitely a pleasure to listening and watching it again and again never getting bored listening and watching it for a thousands of times over and over........Portishead did an excellent work of art....!!!!!!!
I've been listening to it since 1998 and for me this is still the most important song in their work. THANK YOU ❤
To this day I still see them as the greatest miracle in music… the odds!!!
preceded by the Eurythmics
Casi 30 años de este temazo y aún no pierde su esencia vanguardista. Portishead, adelantados a su época, elegantes e hipnóticos en sus melodías,vanguardistas en su propuesta como pocos.
I am from the town portishead near Bristol and without being biased this is probably the best album ever made along with pink floyd dark side of the moon.
Her voice is just incredible.
almost 30 years of this and this song resonates with me deeply. I just turned 98 a month ago .
i feel every moment of this song. such a phenomenal voice and track all together
I literally just came here because my mom listens to this song a lot. Never had sex, not really sad, just like it
Jesus?
But you high
Sorry to break it to you
i guess they meant that they never had sex, not their mom
Spooky...
I'm here because it popped into my head and I thought ooh that's a classic.
Still one of the sexiest songs ever.
Fantastic tune. So chill.
THE soundtrack of every mid90s comedown.
Yes, if you can remember the 90s you weren't there.
I'll never forget the first time I heard this song....I fell in love. Portishead were truly visionary with such interesting beatz. 🥶
Awww...
Thank you so much...
Heard this track on local radio so many years ago, but didn't remember the title....
Very tasteful recording...
I've listened to this song for 12 hours non-stop without getting bored.
Me too..😂😂😂 many times...
just discovered portishead.... love it, helps me through these down times im having
I’ve heard of Portishead but never really listened to their music. I just heard this track on someone’s stories on Instagram and WOW! I’m gonna be here a while 👌
The ‘Killer’ movie brought me here. Anyone else discover this gem through the film? 😊
Haha I was just watching this movie and was reminded how good this song is and here I am
Guilty
More like rediscover.
No but I guess I can call it. From the top of my head, of bs I come up with
one of the favs for decades from the very first day it was heard 🫶
Haven’t brought myself to listen to this since it was played at my moms funeral last year, What a great song.
Sorry for your loss.
Sorry for your loss. Stay strong
I heard this song two decades ago in the movie “Stealing Beauty,” and it became my favorite since then. If you young people see this, I definitely suggest you this movie and it’s sound track, for they are totally awesome!
Thks , i'm 15 ans i'm young . Thks for this piece of advice
What a great song, I love it! I put it into my "Shellshocked Radio - Recommendations" List: th-cam.com/video/I4IGV5s8E84/w-d-xo.html Very well done!
It feels like yesterday. Arrived in London to study, age 25. Best years of my life. Good rock bands, smoking in pubs, good friends, and parties and not a woke in sight. Happy to have been born in 1970.
Kochaaam kocham kocham, tą zabawe glosem, dźwiękami, jej głos, lekki, zmysłowy i ostry. To hymn dla wszystkich kobiet 👑
I actually have always had this on my playlist with the song title “Give Me A Reason”.... mind blown 🤯
Certainly one of the best songs in the entire music history
I used to listen to this album when it came out on repeat...was such a great lovers album.I miss being 20 in the 90s
“Stick to the plan.” “Don’t improvise, anticipate.”
Trust no one. Never yield an advantage. Fight only the battle you're paid to fight.
Just discovered portishead today. So awesome. Been missing out
