    Thanks i installed mine today. The directions they give are pretty bad but your video helped a lot . i have a 2016 model and had to trim the upper plastic a bit but all in all it's a nice add on.
    I went with the white or beige one as thats all they had left at revzilla but the price was 40.00 less.

    Thanks for that, that is exactly what I needed. I am going to install the new IMS 3.5gal on my '17. I expect it to be exactly the same. I appreciate the time you take to do these.

    Excellent instructional video, I went ahead an ordered a new tank for mine. I am so excited to get it. Thank you for making such a detailed install video, I wish there was more videos on the IMS products, I would be able to buy more stuff for my bike If i could figure out how to install it, we don't have a good install guy around our town. Thank you again for doing such detailed work and making this easy for us all to understand. Thank you and have a blessed week my friend.

    Regarding the issue with the IMS tank touching the Flatland Racing radiator guard, I just completed the install of the IMS tank and the Flatland Radiator guard on a 2017 CRF250L and was able to solve the issue just by grinding the folding bump on the radiator guard. No cutting was necessary. I just wanted to report the minimal intervention solution to the issue that worked in my case.

    Been wanting to do this mod for a while now. Thanks for taking the time to show the fuel pump / float transfer. How does the fuel gauge behave afterward? Reads full for a long time then starts dropping off after the 2-gallon point, or is it proportional?

    • @WOODZMAN
      @WOODZMAN  7 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      +Jared Hunter Your welcome, that is exactly right. The fuel gauge reads full tank longer.

  • @rickrickerson6744
    @rickrickerson6744 6 ปีที่แล้ว

    Nice Video. Very helpful. I watched before installing and referenced it a couple times during the install. Those instruction that came with the tank were pretty poor. I forgot to do what you did with the front brackets....mount to the frame first then bolt to the tank. Your method looks much easier.
    I ran out of daylight so I haven't mounted the plastics yet. I'm anxious to see how those side black 'L' brackets work. I'm assuming they just take the place of those slip on nuts on the frame.

    • @WOODZMAN
      @WOODZMAN  6 ปีที่แล้ว

    What’s the purpose of the tube on top of the gas cap considering the factory tank and cap doesn’t have one? Also, thank you for all of your videos.

    • @WOODZMAN
      @WOODZMAN  5 ปีที่แล้ว

      The Factory tank has a built in vent. This tank has a vent in the cap, you can use a long hose or the short hose with a vent on it

  • @rickrickerson6744
    @rickrickerson6744 6 ปีที่แล้ว +1

    Did you have to make any mods to your Corbin seat to get to fit with the new tank? I'm having a heck of a time getting mine on. That front tab doesn't seem to want to catch. I might try bending it or removing the wrap around it.

    • @WOODZMAN
      @WOODZMAN  7 ปีที่แล้ว +4

      +parol de ley Thanks and your welcome
      Yes the fuel gauge works great, the tank holds 1 gallon more fuel so it just takes a lot longer to move off of full tank. But it still lets you know when you are low on gas

    • @paroldeley586
      @paroldeley586 7 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Thanks, I was wondering about that. Any particular reason you chose the IMS over the Acerbis? Did you use the stock gasket, and were there any leakage issues?

  • @roberthicks686
    @roberthicks686 8 ปีที่แล้ว +1

    Since you can't see the fuel level, how accurate is the fuel gauge on the dashboard or is the float pretty accurate?

    • @WOODZMAN
      @WOODZMAN  8 ปีที่แล้ว

      +Robert Hicks yes it is pretty accurate. It does hole 1 more gallon of fuel so it does take longer before the gauge moves off of full but then It works normal.

    • @roberthicks686
      @roberthicks686 8 ปีที่แล้ว

      Thanks! One more question. Did you look at the Acerbis tank and choose IMS for a reason or was IMS just the way it worked out?

    • @WOODZMAN
      @WOODZMAN  8 ปีที่แล้ว

      +Robert Hicks Well I contacted Acerbis by email and they never replied so I never tried to contact them back. IMS was super to deal with.

    • @roberthicks686
      @roberthicks686 8 ปีที่แล้ว

      Awesome! Thanks! I'm still waiting until next year to see if the Rally version comes to the US but if not, I'm all over the regular 250L. My first mods will be the tank and front sprocket.

    • @WOODZMAN
      @WOODZMAN  8 ปีที่แล้ว

      +Robert Hicks The tank is a nice upgrade but I would recommend changing the rear sprocket and not the front.

  • @shanegreen9019
    @shanegreen9019 5 ปีที่แล้ว

    Looking at upgrading the stock tank. Question, how does fuel get to the fuel pump from the left and the right of the aftermarket fuel tanks. The after market tanks have lower left and right chambers that hangs low on each side of the bike.

    • @WOODZMAN
      @WOODZMAN  5 ปีที่แล้ว

      It just has to move around while riding and it gets there. It’s not that much

  • @ripmax333
    @ripmax333 8 ปีที่แล้ว

    It seems that the side fairings go back much better and neater than the Acerbis aftermarket tank that i saw in several threads, the fit looks cleaner. So do they have IMS version Clear instead of black? I think clear looks better but that its just different opinions.

    • @WOODZMAN
      @WOODZMAN  8 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      +ripmax333 Yes they also have the white version.

    @randomlyTrees 8 ปีที่แล้ว

    Great video! A larger tank is the next on my to-do list, and I'll definitely be watching this before (and probably during) my install. Was there a particular reason you chose the IMS over the Acerbis tank?

  • @glennmcguire5571

    Thinking about a IMS 3.5 gal. for my 2018 CRF 250L. Was there any thing negative I should now before purchasing a tank? I see you didn't do it for your 2018. I believe you said the fuel gage starts to register once tank gets lower on fuel. Good read on how much gas is in the tank? I want black not clear. Thanks.

    • @WOODZMAN
      @WOODZMAN  4 ปีที่แล้ว

      It didn’t register the top gallon. I believe that is what it was. Basically it would still show when your empty but when it said full, you had to burn the first gallon before the gauge would start dropping.
      I just don’t think I really need one now

    didn't show the part of how you safely and without making a mess transferred the fuel from one tank to the other. Or was that the reason you did not show it was because most of it ended up killing the grass. Just kidding.
    The only thing I would have changed was going with a new gasket for the fuel pump when you put it in the new tank. Yes, I know the old one still looked good. But I still would have gone with a new one.

    • @WOODZMAN

      Yes you have to trim a little, the top of the plastic that goes along the tank has a lip, you just have to trip that lip a little of the plastic don’t sit flat on the IMS tank.
