I'm currently 31 years old, born in 1993, and holy hell! I did NOT know how many of these toys were happy meal toys? I had so many of these as a kid! But the thing is, I grew up in Mexico, and when coming to the USA, my dad would sometimes visit flea markets and buy is bags or boxes of a bunch of lil toys they would sell in bulk. I had so many of these, and I never knew they were happy meal toys! Oh man... Thank you for this nostalgia trip!
Not sure when TH-cam started playing this during my nap but I’m sure not complaining 10/10 will rewatch while awake but for now I’m going back to sleep :)
The Bobby's World toys are actually really clever if you know the show at all. The whole gag was that Bobby was a kid with a super active imagination, and the show was mostly composed of his fantasy play sequences, which would also be happening in the real world but seen through a different perspective. So all the toys show him riding his tricycle but the layer on top means he's imagining he's driving a car, the innertube in the water becomes a submarine in his mind, and so on. neat conceptual toy that encouraged kids' imaginations. also, literally every 'gardening toy' they kept putting out were actually good sand toys, and so they were always pretty popular with parents who thought ahead to beach days and such. Ironic that with so much less silicone in computers to look at back then, we spent a lot more time looking at silicone in actual sand.
Please do every 90s Burger King toy. Even if you don’t have them. I’d just really like to see that because I liked the format of this video and Burger King had fire toys in the 90s. Would be nice to see things that I’ve forgotten about.
Yes, yes, YES!!! The 90's were so my childhood, and I have been waiting so long for someone to do a full history of the McDonald's toys history particularly from that decade because I could never find a full or accurate list anywhere, so thank you so much for making this!
13:40 A little disappointed you brushed past the Mini Streex. They weren't just typical Hot Wheels cars. They were wheel-less ships that connected to a launcher that you could launch them from by slamming down on the air-filled pump part of it. It was one of the few I remember my brother and I getting the entire set.
The Tiny Toons characters names are: Babs & Buster Bunny (pink & blue bunnies); Plucky ducky; Hampton J. Pig; Dizzy Devil; Elmira Duff (the human girl); Sweety Pie (the pink bird); Montana Max (human boy); Furball (the cat); and Gogo Dodo. Other characters that didn't seem to get toys made of them were: Shirley the Loon; Calamity Coyote; Little Beeper; Fifi La Fume; Concord Condor; Fowlmouth Rooster; Barky Marky; Arnold the Pitbull; Mary Melody; The Bookworm; and Li'l Sneezer. There were also a couple rat characters and the original Looney Tunes characters were mentoring the Tiny Toons.
I remember getting the camp set as a kid. I was excited about them. I never got the green set though. I was also upset that I could never get the cup to hold water!
Change My Mind I believe they were either a reference to the section called Dinoland, USA and the upcoming Dinosaur movie tie-in. The dragon most likely was put in to represent a cancelled section of the park called Beastly Kingdom, with a dragon logo and apparently was themed after mythological creatures and was believed to be what the aforementioned Dinosaur ride was originally meant for
32 born in 1992. I had SO many of these. Such wonderful nostalgia when times weren’t so difficult. I’m really interested in knowing how you have most of these.
I was 7 in 1990 and 16 in 1999. It was a great decade to be a kid and enter your teens. I remember most of them. I have a special memory' of the 1993 "making movies" megaphone. My dad took me to the local McDonald's while mom was at work and I got that toy. On the way home we seen 2 teens heavily kissing by a tree at about 8 pm. Arms wrapped around each other. Dad had a sense of humor so he picks up my mega phone as we came up beside them as they where right beside the turn. He yells in the megaphone "hey you two knock it off!" Those 2 both jumped about 2 feet. Then my dad laughed and they did too. The girl was laughing and hugged the guy. The guy had his hand on his heart and said "you scared the s**t out of me I thought it was her dad!" We all laughed and dad drove on. My dad passed away in 2015 and that toy has a special memory for me
As someone who’s 35 and feeling extra nostalgic lately, this was great. Wild how many I remember from 90/91. Not that I remember a bunch, just crazy I remember any, and a couple pretty vividly, considering I was 1-2.
51:07 beetleborgs was one of the many times saban entertainment tried to recapture the lightning in the bottle effect of power rangers by buying out several toei tokusatsu shows to adaptate into a american show. The most infamous show from that time was masked rider
The Mini Streex were actually awesome. Then I remembered when F-Zero came out and I saw it as a kid and I just thought it was the toys in the game. "Mini Streex, The Game, for SNES"
I worked at McDonalds from late 1996 to late 2000. Some of these toys I fondly remember, and some I and completely forgotten about, like the Jungle Book toys with the candy. The first year of Beanie Babies was a complete fiasco. We had to hook up an answering machine that would tell people what you we had, because we had so many calls.
dang, I could see what toys I had on this list 3:48 - almost had this whole set, just missing the Goomba 5:51 - I do recall having two of those flipcars (Babs and Dizzy Devil) 8:57 - I had Pongo and Lucky in this set ( never did get The Colonel & Seargent Tibbs, or Cruella) 23:46 - all I had from this set was Knuckles 45:09 - I had a few of these toys from the live action 101 Dalmatians 54:55 - I had three of the flipcars (Cadpig, Rolly, and Two-Tone), always wanted Lucky but never got him :(
Like everything, interests are subjective. I was such a huge fan of half the toys you said sucked. Like the tapes. To this day, I remember getting that tape and listening to it at my grandma's house while drawing. Also I adored the magic school bus toys. I loved school supplies as a kid and I know a lot of other kids did as well. I think that's what made them cool. There were toys for everyone.
21:58 THAT WAS POISON IVY???????? I’ve thought that thing was an Ariel car for 20 years. We have the whole set too but no one ever told me who tf it was supposed to be 😅
❤ Thank you ! I had no idea about a lot of those toys , I have a few sets from back in the day 😅 but no where near what you have shown , have an awesome day !
Those MMPR Movie toys you showed off were not Happy Meal toys but ones you could buy for 1.99 with a value meal. There were actually separate MMPR Movie toys they released for the Happy Meals
I was just about to say this as well. For some reason I only remember having the Black and Blue Rangers when I really wanted the White Ranger lol. I remember the actual happy meal toys and I had the movie ninja power coins/morpher that came with 3 coins but when you flip the coin to the other side you get the other ninja animal. I also had the communicator as well.
I remember the green toy with the pink snapping thing at the front that's all but the 101 Dalmatians is my favorite set. You're going through my whole childhood here. I can taste the alphabet cereal on my tongue. Kind of wish someone with far more nostalgic love was covering this though. 😅
My best MC Donalds toys I collected was the transformers MC donalds food, Muppets Babys, Back to the future2 Batman Returns those were my favorite back in the 80
Wait that knuckles toy (24:10) works exactly like the Sky Dancers and Dragon Flyz toys did. Which came out just a few years later. Feel like that was an early prototype. I loved my Sky Dancers back then
On second thought after watching to the end, so many of these bright back memories. I never realized how often I went to McDonald’s growing up, but apparently it was pretty often. Result of both parents working I guess.
VR Troopers was like a power ranger show but was supposed to be a lil more “edgy” and focused on more like futuristic enemies. Hence the name VR Troopers. Only lasted 1-2 possibly 3 seasons. I’m 37 so I remember it vaguely
I enjoyed seeing all the old toys but on some of the stuff you should do a little more research. The tiny toons especially bugged me. Gray Taz? Dizzy Devil! Porky? Hampton! And Blue Bugs?! Buster oh and for future reference the green Duck is plucky the pink rabbit is babs and the girl is Elmira. Sorry to be picky I liked seeing the toys
Mystic Knights of Tir Na Nog, VR Troopers, and Beetleborgs were live action adventure shows made by saban for Fox Kids. Saban is most known for the Power Rangers franchise of course.
I'm 32, I still have many of these toys! I'm gonna guess you're young, it hurt my heart that you didn't know many of the franchises....especially Beetleborgs. _Big Bad Beetleborgs_ was a short lived TV series about 3 kids that wished to be the heros in their favorite comic book and they got their wish! Just like Power Rangers, it's a Japanese show that was Americanized.
wow, what nostalgia, i had the 1996 robin hood one. Had two cuz both my brother and I wanted robin hood haha from the 1997 101 dalmatians, despite you not showing, i distinctly remember having one with a wooden bucket on its butt!
As a '90s kid the Power Rangers are 10/10. Big Fkn Deal. I know I watched Beetleborgs, but don't remember it well, just think it was wannabe Power Rangers that didn't take off. Also, I didn't realize how many action figures, hot wheels, etc were actually just McDs toys. The better ones got mixed in with our regular toys at home and we forgot they were even from MeDonalds I think. The Barbie/Hotwheels & Ty Beanies repeating is just all about them being solid toys. We loved Barbies, Hot Wheels, and Beanie Babies. McDs was just playing the greatest hits. I actually wish you spent more time on them, they are low-key iconic.
Bro!! Hella blast from the past. So I loved making all my figures fight. I used to get all the best figures and have an all out Multiverse battle before it was even a thing. Lol I had the Robin Hood fox guy smacking dudes with his yellow bag of money. I still have the Human Torch, Hulk, Hercules, the Hun from Mulan, John Smith, Tarzan, Clayton, Spiderman, and Batman. And, of course, my all-time favorite, the Power Rangers movie figures.
Omg I remember the ice cream cone. I grew up a poor kid so my toys were all random penny toys my mom found at thrift stores. Which were usually broken or incomplete doohickeys. But I cherished the icecream cone cuz it was TWO toys in ONE. Riveting
The Disney animal kingdom set of toys had a dragon and two dinosaurs in the set because originally, when disney was creating their animal kingdom theme park, they wanted fantasy animals and prehistoric animals in their own respective sections called the beastly kingdom however, that idea was never implemented and has since become the avatar Pandora section
I only made it 15 minutes. I wanted to like this video but you just trash everything 😂 By the way, that Micheal Jordan fitness set was awesome! The basket ball was perfect for any mini hoop!!!
11:50 They had realease the original mc nugget buddies in 1988 so i dont think they had anything to do with each other but I could be wrong. Also the boy version of Polly Pocket is called Mighty Max and the actual Mighty Max toys are amazing!! I have a couple in my collection.
5:17 Burger King did something like this WAY into the future for SpongeBob Atlantis Squarepantis (or some other special around the time) where you would look into the side of there head and they would have this image inside. It was lame, but at least better than generic looking view finder type things.
The right inspector gadget leg was a light. I honestly only know cause I got the right leg when it came out and remember using it as a flash light. Never got the rest of him unfortunately
I’m curious how old you are- I’m 32 and I had seen most of these from 95 on. Big Bad Beetleborgs was an adaptation of Juukou B-Fighter, just as MMPR was an adaptation of Zyuranger. I also remember VR Troopers- same story there. I also remember the Knights of Tir na Nog- again, another production by Saban to make a tokusatsu show like Power Rangers, but Celtic flavored. I never watched it, but I owned several of the toys so I felt like I was already a fan. It only lasted a season. The action figures were nice to have if you couldn’t afford any. I’m surprised I had most if not all of the Power Rangers movie one, despite 3 at the time. Anyways, thank you!
Fire. Now do the 2000s
Bro is going to get fatal insomnia

Remember Value Village and those little plastic bags of toys? 🥹 that’s what this comment reminds me of
I was born in 1990 so I appreciate this list. Sooooo many of these I had and totally forgot about. Great nostalgia!

The Doug keychain would "blush" when you pushed a button on his body (there was a red light in his head).

You Forgot The Parappa The Rapper Happy Meal Toy
I'm here for the toy Barbies. Not the ones with synthetic hair. The ones before. 😂
The goomba did a backflip (when it worked properly)
11:50 They had realease the original mc nugget buddies in 1988 so i dont think they had anything to do with each other but I could be wrong.
Also the boy version of Polly Pocket is called Mighty Max and the actual Mighty Max toys are amazing!! I have a couple in my collection.
5:17 Burger King did something like this WAY into the future for SpongeBob Atlantis Squarepantis (or some other special around the time) where you would look into the side of there head and they would have this image inside. It was lame, but at least better than generic looking view finder type things.
Are you going to do one of these for the 80's and the other decades?
The right inspector gadget leg was a light. I honestly only know cause I got the right leg when it came out and remember using it as a flash light. Never got the rest of him unfortunately
I still have a lot of these as well as most of around the world snoopy.
The sonic 3 ones are a part of why sonic 3 is a two parter
You sound like david spade which is a compliment not an insult ❤
I am to young to have any of these but 29:04 I have that got wheels one did they re sell it??
Mung always has the Barbie toys and never has the hot wheels. Hmmmmm
I miss the days when Burger King had toys
Please be less rough with the toys your grandpa loaned you. :(
now weigh it all and multiply it by every kid born after 1988
