The San Antonio Sewerpipe, The Flying Lawn Dart, The Death Dart. The Metroliner is known by many names, but its defining characteristic to most is the sound, but don't worry, the more you fly on the Metro the quieter they get.
They have restrooms? American Eagle used to fly these in and out of LYH in the 80s and I never would take the plunge. I always took Piedmont's Dash 8 or 737 or Fokker 28.

I fly in one of these every 2 weeks for work. The notice on the back of the seat also says " No smoking when oxygen is in use " Does that mean you can smoke when oxygen isn't in use? lol
These were designed/certified in the late 60s. Placards like that are part of the plane's certification requirements. To change them would require an STC, a "Special Type Certificate," which costs an inordinate amount of money and time to get. It's just not worth the effort.
I was 21 putting in hydraulics and expediting parts at Swearing in San Antonio. It was a great paying job in it's day. I finally got to ride a Metro from Denver to Jackson Hole Wyoming many, many years later!
Heritage Elevators You have to be quick, they've already started to seel them to Australia. KLM is also selling their Fokkers to a Papua New Guinean airline. Anyway it's better to sell them to another airline rather than scrapping them off. I hope they won't change the interior, especially the leather seats.

It is sad how few passagers there are, if that continues they have to close down that flight line :(

These aircraft are a brilliant design but as a passenger dual turboprops are an aural assault and you can’t get above weather...
These planes have the same service ceiling as the Bombardier DHC-8 Q400. Although noisy for pax use, they serve well hauling cargo.
