+Ruffin Roud $600-$700 for a pc with a gtx 960 is cheap? LOL. A pc like this would easily be ~$1000 3 years ago. Consoles are getting cheaper too, like literally only a couple hundred bucks for the xbox one bundle and a hundred more for ps4. Calling someone stupid for not being able to afford something is quite low.
+Ruffin roud Took me about 2 months to completely build my PC I couldn't just blow 1300-1500 bucks in a day since I've got bills to pay. AND you gotta keep in mind, people from Europe and Australia PC parts and shit are way more expensive than America. Example Nvidia GTX 1080 for Aussies cost 1175 for Americans it costs around 700-800 bucks.
It's not even a console. It's an overpriced pre-built pc the size of a console with not as much upgrade capabilities as a self-built pc. So it's basically a shitty pc.
Holy shit the performance is incredible ... But not because the PC is so cool... it is because they really did an amazing job getting the most out of the engine... wow.
My parents are divorced and this would be the most perfect machine for moving in between houses. I've looked into portable PC's but none are small enough to fit into a laptop backpack. I can't wait to get my hands on one!
I know I'm late but I'll respond to these comments anyways. "It's non upgradable I'm not buying it" Actually it is. You just have to pay $100+ extra and a different graphics card. "It has gtx 960" A GTX 960 is better than a 1050 ti.
How u said the graphics amplifier 'kind of defeats the purpose' I think it's meant to take the alpha places (that's why it's so small) and after you come home, plug up the amplifier, and then you can game with pretty good frame rates.
sean hackney yes that is what I️ was thinking. I️ am considering purchasing this PC and me and my friends have a lot of CSGO LAN parties. I️ want a small form factor PC and this would be amazing for me
if it were a pc only game then it would be alpha for a year to year and a half, then beta for 2 more years then the devs would pull the plug and move on
Doubt ArmA 3 would run smoothly on this unless you're playing SP. MP is just a horrible unoptimized shit which requires atlest 16Gb of ram to get the smooth 60 on all servers.
damn jack, awsome review! if only every youtuber put this much effort in sponserd videos, i wish you the best luck with yur youtube channel with the release of BF1 comming soon i hope you get to grow even more!
I stopped watching when you said £779 ...... Thats way too fucking much for a "PC" it might be small and give good performance but damn thats alot for what.
ATW Tech - Alpha R2 its a fucking 6700t a mobile cpu for crist sake an desktop i3 could out perform it. of course adding a gpu will grater the fps but its still bottle necked
I'm excited to see what the future holds for compact PCs, I would definitely get one of these when every GPU can fit into something of this size, can't wait
Sam Marky Bruh consoles dont come with a monitor either. Thats why u use a tv. Never said i was going to buy it doesnt makes sense when you could just make your own computer. So stfu
Soooo, it's basically a fucking Laptop... But instead of flat, it's just changed into a thicker polygon... Woopty-fucking-do. PS, Alien-ware over priced, over rated. Build yourself a PC, save 300-500 bucks.
You won't really save much unless you already have some components... Considering the CPU, GPU and RAM are already about 700$, now add Case, Motherboard, Windows, PSU and you get almost the same prize + you have to build it and will have it in about 4x larger case...
The breaking part is no problem for me since im not a idiot who isnt careful with his stuff but Im not sure about the second part. Definetly gonna watch some more videos before decieding. Thanks for the feedback anyway
Jack the gfx amplifier is for laptops with no dedicated GPU, so you can do work on the go, and then come home to plug that into the amplifier so you can have near desktop performance
Dude just get a cheaper gaming laptop, this for people who want things small as all fuck, and this product is overpriced as fuck, are you really falling for the trick?
Ill Consider what you said but i still am aiming towards it. Its just so cool looking and easy so... Plus im not gonna be playing brand new games like BF1 on it, thats what my ps4 is for. :)
the external GPU thing is a good idea for laptops which is what it was designed for originally. You can have your high end laptop with on board gpu and take it on the go with you, and when you're home you plug in the alpha box and have a high end gaming rig
Really insightful break down. I love the way the box looks, and the power is has. I agree with you on the fact that it has potential, and is a great buy for people who do not know how, or do not want to take the time, to build their own boxes. It will be very interesting to see what the next few years bring for the form factor performance market.
Cool concept, excited to see better versions and i would definately pick one up for traveling / lans, would not mind if it was a bit bigger, like a PS4 or XBOX, if that means it can fit a better graphics card / better parts overall and a better cooling system, sound is important to me.
960 is perfect for this system. I got the OC version in my PC. This card is cheap, cool and can handle all the newest games on high details in 1080p. Perfect for budget builds.
Ik alot of people crap on ailenware, but we have to understand that this is not ment for you who don't mind having a massive box in you're room. Me on the other hand loves small stuff. So far i love my Alpha its everything i need, working well and good, and ofc with a slick nice design!
I do think the upgrade box makes sense. Most people who want to play pc games don't want to pay the initial costs. This way, you can spend a couple hundred bucks, play the current games and in a year or so, when your system starts getting slower, you invest again and upgrade it to new standard. It basically prolongs the life of the device. they should offer a version that is stronger by default though. For many users having that second box does not make sense. I can see some use-cases where it might though.
i doubt any actual pc gamer would buy something like this but i do like how this thing is smaller than my mousepad might be sweet for lan parties or living room with wireless mouse and keyboard attached
What better game to benchmark performance in than BF1 Alpha, a game for which most people is inaccessible until they deliver DICE $60 for a game that probably has 3 maps
Newsflash: you can play ANY game on linux. That's if you have the compatibility layer installed on linux which is known as "Wine". With WIne you can: *run any .exe format program while using linux. Now, about the asterisk, when I said, "Any" I meant to say, "Any .exe program that's not from microsoft directly. So, in otherwords if you were to try to use .. hmm.. say the xbox app in linux then the DRM will activate preventing you from using it on an "unknown" os. So, with that said: Yes, you can run .exe games on linux as long as you have the compatibility layer installed first.
I found building a PC is actually really easy once you know whats compatible with what, I built mine for $1200 shopping around for stuff on sale the only thing holding mine back is my internet bandwidth.
But can it run minecraft on max graphics? Yeah, didn't think so...
moonman, when will your next album hit the shelves?
lol
+Drader THE PROPHET OF AIDEN The night of the next full moon
+A Retarded Burger this is a fake channel you idiot 😂xD
RedExRiot no fucking shit.
soo the graphics card still isn't upgradable....Yeah not getting it
that's what I'm thinking
Well, this in fact is not true...
Graphics amplifier to upgrade your gpu.
yes, theres no need to upgrade now, but in like 5 years you could, and they provided you with an option for that wichis cool.
+Knot people who don't want don't want to build
Fucking consoles should have been like this thing at launch
but then nobody could afford it
+Sanyo 1.0 I wouldn't care. Either way they could cut down on costs over time
+Ruffin Roud

for Americans it costs around 700-800 bucks.
So it's now just a worse version of a PC desktop/laptop?
Yes
Well thats what you gotta pay for the small size
+MakerThGr8r true
Performance is great, check out my videos on it.
well its great for lans and bring at friends house and cheaper than a laptop
Pretty much just a non shitty console..
It's not a console it's a Windows PC....
It's not even a console. It's an overpriced pre-built pc the size of a console with not as much upgrade capabilities as a self-built pc.
So it's basically a shitty pc.

Ah yes! a banana, the world's universal measuring tool. Excellent choice!

£629 for a GTX 960, i5, 8 gigs of ram
lol
about $700
and i7
it is for some people
its expected with all of these pre built pcs, all ways overpriced with some stupid parts like super good motherboard with duo core or some crap.
its basically a scam for people who like gaming and know nothing about pc building, the see the shiny lights on the case and think its good xD
I know I'm late but I'll respond to these comments anyways.
"It's non upgradable I'm not buying it"
Actually it is. You just have to pay $100+ extra and a different graphics card.
"It has gtx 960"
A GTX 960 is better than a 1050 ti.
Some Doge wait a 960 is better than a 1050Ti?
Acewarrior 55k they are pretty similar in performance but I'm pretty sure the 1050 ti is better
gtx 960 is pretty great tbh
jackfrags says in the video that the gpu isn't the mobile version and is desktop sized.

How u said the graphics amplifier 'kind of defeats the purpose' I think it's meant to take the alpha places (that's why it's so small) and after you come home, plug up the amplifier, and then you can game with pretty good frame rates.

When that small box has a better performance than your big desktop pc
really cool video jack i just like the way you bring your videos its original! love them!
is it always gonna be alpha or is that just a name ?
Just a name.
if it were a pc only game then it would be alpha for a year to year and a half, then beta for 2 more years then the devs would pull the plug and move on
thesinaclwon He was referring to the name of the PC, which is Alpha R2, not BF1. :P

I wish you showed Arma 3 in this previews of PCs. That's the only thing I'm interested if it comes to PC.
Doubt ArmA 3 would run smoothly on this unless you're playing SP. MP is just a horrible unoptimized shit which requires atlest 16Gb of ram to get the smooth 60 on all servers.
just did a 1080p ultra test on the i7/960 on my channel
I'll probably get one just for LAN as well. Easy to carry to DreamHack.
damn jack, awsome review! if only every youtuber put this much effort in sponserd videos, i wish you the best luck with yur youtube channel with the release of BF1 comming soon i hope you get to grow even more!

would i be able to change that 960 to a 1060?
nope
via the graphics amplifier, yes
Won't change anything in terms of fps cos the cpu is shit and is already bottlenecking the 960
+Prototype 2.0 true. to all this wanting this, just buy a console it has no upgradability so yeah.
ATW Tech - Alpha R2 its a fucking 6700t a mobile cpu for crist sake an desktop i3 could out perform it.

Great video, I really enjoy that outro song :)
lol rip consoles
lol look @ the price of this thing lol lol
Eehh, I am pretty sure that those consoles are from 2013... So that comment is just retarded, plus I think those consoles cost 250-300$
Sam Marky Bruh consoles dont come with a monitor either. Thats why u use a tv. Never said i was going to buy it doesnt makes sense when you could just make your own computer. So stfu
Says 500 on my screen and not like I would ever buy it. Geez calm down everyone.
ps4 loke 250 euros and yhat pc 800... thats insane
Why does a gaming pc need an i7?
Better rendering in games and editing
editing? lmfao he sail gaming.
+Asher woodman So? He said said for gaming and editing.
Rob0Duck 42K the person asking the question asked specifically on gaming

Build pc that is same size and for cheaper and all same parts
Good luck
***** Welp, if you're willing to pay a bit extra for that, it's fine. Hell i'm still contemplating getting something from Xidax.
This thing is actually pretty awesome I mean 770 pounds is a good price for this. Definetly going to buy this one.
dont, people have been commenting that it breaks easy and is all form over function, not worth it
The breaking part is no problem for me since im not a idiot who isnt careful with his stuff but Im not sure about the second part. Definetly gonna watch some more videos before decieding. Thanks for the feedback anyway
I dont quiet now the prices with pounds but with euro you can build a far better one with either the rx480 or the GTX 1060
my pc runs at 33 when gaming maxed out and streaming :) nice little box thou GG jack
42 percent resolution scale...
thank god for banana for scale, you got us covered Jack.
the song is Ian fever/Autumn if you were wondering.
just want i say Jack that I really appreciate the time and effort you put into your videos, I find it very admirable
This is actually the one I've been looking at getting!
Jack the gfx amplifier is for laptops with no dedicated GPU, so you can do work on the go, and then come home to plug that into the amplifier so you can have near desktop performance
without being tethered by a desktop, or having to lug around a big gaming laptop. though given it is a niche product, but still cool
I will migrate from a 21-inch iMac 2012 for this PC... Looks good, compact and great for video editing
Best review of this product i've seen. Keep it up!
So getting it. I'm not a PC gamer but something like this for casual gaming would be perfect for me.
Dude just get a cheaper gaming laptop, this for people who want things small as all fuck, and this product is overpriced as fuck, are you really falling for the trick?

I like the curved sleek yellow design of the case its a nice new take.
A fucking banana for scale..... I love you Jack
tbh, thought i wasnt gonna even check this video out at first. but now im really bound on getting the $950 version because i know i have the budget

+KyleRen 1337 Savage but seriously you can do better
+Sassy The Sasquatch i take that back, found something much better
+ATW Tech - Alpha R2
Because it isn't running a GTX 1070 or 1060/RX 480 and gives you 40s in the minimums and isn't future proof and overpriced
I love it when jack says banana
Great vid Jack really intrested in purchasing this now :)
It's amazing. you won't be disappointed.
+ATW Tech - Alpha R2 wait what about other models.... are they any good? like the i5
Rookie_J285 HD the i5/i7 should preform the same in games. i7 would be recommended if you wanted to stream/media/video editing etc.
+ATW Tech - Alpha R2 okay man cheers for the help :)
+Rookie_J285 HD Dont buy this overpriced peace of shit
I think I'd get one of these for when I'm travelling, for the office not so much.
my god, 42% was actually 100%?
So I was running the game on 4k?
Damnit, thats why I wasnt able to play on ultra with playable fps...
im so happy that the 960 can play BF1 Ultra at 60fps :D
banana for scale? fellow 9gag here jackfrags ;)
That Graphics Amplifier seems like a great idea for laptop/notebook users as that could be much more viable for desktop replacement.
Cool concept, excited to see better versions and i would definately pick one up for traveling / lans, would not mind if it was a bit bigger, like a PS4 or XBOX, if that means it can fit a better graphics card / better parts overall and a better cooling system, sound is important to me.
As someone who plays console I actually find this appealing. I'm not a hardcore gamer but would like to get into pc.
960 is perfect for this system. I got the OC version in my PC. This card is cheap, cool and can handle all the newest games on high details in 1080p. Perfect for budget builds.
good work Jack 👍
great step towards the next level.
Banana for scale. THIS GUY GETS IT!!!
Is it just me or would it be awesome to have a face reveal of Jack frags
I might consider buying this to help introduce myself to pc gaming
Well dammit Jack, I was hoping on $500. Oh well, I'll wait another year. My ps4 keeps me happy til then.
Once I saw alien ware I head-butted my desk in shame

Came for the Banana, stayed for the info.
Liked that banana comparison
This PC is sick. I defenetly wouldn't mind ultra settings at 60 fps.
Jack thx I might buy this I've been looking for a good pc
i doubt any actual pc gamer would buy something like this but i do like how this thing is smaller than my mousepad
might be sweet for lan parties or living room with wireless mouse and keyboard attached
I'm thinking if getting one of these, and needed some more inpute. you sir have sold me.
So we can call you 'JackBanana' now bro? :)
In battlefield 1 we call this PC the Apple AF
What better game to benchmark performance in than BF1 Alpha, a game for which most people is inaccessible until they deliver DICE $60 for a game that probably has 3 maps
oh look a frying pan !
There is another USB in a secret compartment Underneath
The famous banana scale ... but how do we know, that bananas in Britain aren't smaller than in the rest of the world! ;-)
Oh finally u have bananas in ur house now i can forgive u
Amazing compact and room saving PC :)))

Truely insane!
its plug n play gaming for those who are not wanting to build a gaming pc. im impressed. not my speed but def cool
Okay, that's it! I'm only buying it if it comes with the banana.
It would be interesting to see Arma added to these comparisons
I guess this is cool for lan parties with friends
