    Awesome! I’ve spent two nighters in both those lean-to’s. Thanks again for the memories. That’s a helluva workout dude....

    I do like the format you followed on this video stating times, hours per mile, grade in ft/mile. Definitely gives good intel for anyone planning.
    This 46 in one winter series is really enjoyable to watch. Can't wait for you to finish it up this season.
    When I do my one winter trip to the ADKs I'll need to swing by High Peaks Cyclery, or one of my multiple non-winter trips up there.

      I agree with @cfraimondo. One thing that would be a nice addition would be to show a screenshot of your route, maybe from AllTrails.com.

    Just binge watched this series of yours. You make amazing videos! You're inspiring me to attempt the 46! I hope one day you'll do a video about your gear or basics on what gear you recommend for beginners, intermediate etc. Looking forward to the next video!

    Took us three separate trips to get the whole range. Good job. That's a real leg burner.

    Footwear question for you -- were you on NNN-BC boots & bindings, and did you just do your snowshoeing in the same boots? Or ... ?

    Just finished watching… Even I need a nap now! 😂 and yes! Owls make some really freaky sounds! I know it’s not a mountain lion, you would never hear those! 😬

    I didn’t know that you listened to Hillsong while hiking. That’s cool!

    Great video Jonathan! Have we seen you on skis before? That must take an entirely different skill set than snow shoes or other gear. Have you gone X-Country skiing before? And you recently got a drone? How cool! Love those shots of your Suburu driving in the snow on the way to new trails in recent videos.

    Love the quick tip with boiling water! Maybe make a tip or hacks segment like that in all the vids!

    Love all your videos! They have helped inspire my hiking group to follow me to the Adirondacks and helped us choose our hikes this past year. Tell me... what Peaks or Hikes have the best Winter views? (I love hiking ridges and rocky peaks) So far we have kept things easy by doing Hurricane, Indian Head, Colvin, Blake, Brothers trail (did not make it to Big Slide), Rainbow Falls, Balancing Rocks, Giant Nubble, Lyon and Cascade.

      Run Together / AdrenalineRaceEvents For your specific taste, ridges and rocky peaks, I recommend Gothics, Haystack, or Colden!

    I feel your pain having done these peaks in one swoop myself, great job though powering through. Can’t wait for your unsupported challenge later this year that will be one Helluva documentary!

  • @jagrrr2279
    @jagrrr2279 4 ปีที่แล้ว

    Are you going to make videos talking about how you plan to do the unsupported 46 high peaks? Also if I have done Cascade and Porter is the Wright Algonquin Iroquois (out and back not loop) much more difficult than those two? I am interested in becoming a 46er. Love these videos of you doing the winter 46!!!

    • @JonathanZaharek
      @JonathanZaharek  4 ปีที่แล้ว

      Jagrrr227 I will not be making a video on the unsupported hike in anyway. I do not want people to know certain details and I do not want to make it any more public than I have at the moment. Also, the Macintyre range out and back is 2x harder than Cascade and Porter. It’s 2x the distance, 2x the ft gain, and 2x the steepness.

      Jonathan Zaharek I just listened to the podcast and just wanted to congratulate you for doing that first attempt and finding pride in knowing your limits. Very inspirational and I hope your second attempt is successful.

    There are no wolves and bears are asleep, what else makes weird noises in the dark?

      Not knowing the description of the sounds you heard, I can give you a few good potentials. Many owls begin their breeding season during winter months and courtship calls increase in frequency. This includes Barred Owl, Eastern Screech-owl, Northern Saw-whet Owl, and Great Horned Owl. Also, canines such as coyotes, and both gray and red foxes are quite vocal during the later winter months - also related to breeding season.

      @@dyeany2 I believe you are correct about the Owls especially in that area of the ADKs. . . . .I remember coming out of the SEWARDS in the Fall at sunset several years ago and the last mile or so was filled with the eerie/haunting sounds of Owls. . . . .it made for a neat end to a long day. . . . .and even-though it is nothing to fear there is still something about "that sound of Owls calling" that will get the adrenaline flowing.

    Hey Jonathan. Is there any rime or reason for the order of peaks done this time around or is it random?

      David Cummings pretty much just according to weather and how I’m feeling
