I have fished the Winnipeg river system just north of Kenora with Muskies INC, but did not catch any walleyes like that!!! Did have a 55" ski hooked for a while. Did catch a few mid 30 skis and a 44" pike.

Try this lake also..This is home to many Yanks..and the Fishing is not the only reason . this place is Heaven.

what type of line do you use? some people say that if you you flourocarbon its the best but if you use more than 8lb line the fish can see it. what do you think?

So it looks like if you would have waited and weighed in that "9" lber instead of going for the first 7 lber you may have won the tourney. Sucks that fish wasn't staying strong in the live well could have been a different result for you guys
What rod and reel setup would you recommend for multi-species fishing for walleye, perch ,channel catfish ,drum and bass under $100
Kyle Rittenhouse - get whatever Shimano combo you can afford in a 7' medium power. You get what you pay for, and Shimano makes solid gear.

Just subscribed! love the fishing and tech. I am also quite impressed with your respect for the fish you catch. you might have scored a little higher in the tourney for hanging onto and killing that first fish, then catching and swapping with the one you caught later. But then you would be "That guy" and not a good ethical person.

It should be illegal to have that much fun,
So ..... you were one tenth of a pound away from winning third, And 1.63 lbs. out of winning. I wonder if that Day 1 fish would have won it for you. Second Place for certain, as you were only 1/4 lb. behind them. Awesome!
