I'm 27 & I am currently in the process of another career switch... it's been a stressful ride, a lot of self judgement & uncertainty because I'm not sure exactly what I want to be doing & how well I fit in those roles. Since the pandemic, meditation, stress regulation, & self care has become my top priority... I'm a Taurus rising, we love pampering & relaxation lol. Watching this video, as you're explaining these things to consider, I never felt like I had to say "I can be open to that" or "hmmm idk about that but I can try". My work history, the parts of it I liked, & lifestyle allows me to feel like I may actually be a perfect fit for this. I think I'm signing up lol

For the past few days I have been under so much pressure mentally because i literally didn’t know what I wanted to do with myself one minute I wanted to be a nurse, then my passion for it just fade I realize I wanted to do something where as yes I can cater to people but like you said it would be in a more colorful, peaceful environment where as I could be versatile, vulnerable and creative. I am about starting esthetician school and I am super duper excited for this journey of mines. I’m a week away from getting my lash certificate and I can’t wait to start learning how to do facials, skin assessment etc 😊

If this isn’t me! My entire life I thought I wanted to be a nurse; became a Phlebotomist and then a ER patient care tech then in the ICU. I cried because I realized the healthcare field isn’t for me and it broke my heart cause I’m like how do I help people.! Then realizing I need to be more free and creative and that’s where I stumbled upon Esthetics. I’ll be starting in April.

@ if you’re wanting to be an esthetician, no you don’t need to be a nurse. But there are nurses injectors that require an RN. A lot of places, depending on your state, will train and certify you to become an injector as well!

I’ve been working with special needs adults for 12 years. I’ve applied Person Centered approaches to all my clients, multitasking and have become resilient. I’m in the process of taking my Theory for the second time. I’m waiting on my practical results but felt pretty good about it. I have a degree in teaching and I have learned a lot in teaching special needs kids but I’d love to create an environment where special needs adults also can thrive as I know how hard it can be to go to a salon that fits our needs!

I have worked with clients to help them in the homes, community and currently a job developer for them. There may be local agencies in your area that do that work. If you have your teaching license, perhaps you can open your own business someday :)
I like most of your videos, except for this one. Just bc a person has an upbeat personality doesn't mean that they can't be an Esthetician. And not everyone has to sell products. Not every Esthetician is going to work at that type of setting.
Me personally I dont wanna do hair, I wanna make my own products and work for myself learning essential oils and all of that making my own business out of it all.

I initially wanted to do hair but during school I realized I enjoyed the esthetics side a bit more. And now I’m looking into becoming an advanced aesthetician in Oregon to do non ablative treatments. Which unfortunately is no longer a thing in ca… we can’t do microdermabrasion/microneedling/ipls/ in ca. but in OR you can. I am licensed there as well. So I just need to put in more hours for my advanced. That’s why I’m curious as to what the laws are in your state.
More than anything this is what I want to do, but I am on my own and have to for to make a living. This has made any program impossible schedulewise while still making enough to live on. Plz pray I will find a way

Hello - I'm from Ontario aswell , and I looked into any college or local beauty bars - trillium college has a fast tract esthetician & spa operations certificate in 11 months instead of 2 years at a major name college 😊 , hope this helps - good luck!
