I love all the extra information like wind sound and temperature. But could be even better riding on a bike without a shied. Split testing this would cover it for even more riders.
I like your € to Star rating system! That’s an excellent way of conveying how much value you’re really getting. Of course a $100 helmet would be expected to perform in the $100 range, but if you compare it to a $400 helmet, you shouldn’t expect it to match up. That’s a great system and I hope more review channels pick it up!
The ones you might see could be the US version of the helmet, they are certified differently than the ones that are sold in Europe. We believe that the US version is able to be configured to a half-face helmet, however this isn't allowed in Europe hence the European version of the helmet. You might see the vents also placed differently on the US version!
The helmet will only be certified to an ECE J homologation, AKA an open face helmet. The mask (rather than a chinbar) isn't protective beyond weather elements and bugs, much like the Combat before it and the Shark Drak/Raw
What @ItsBeenDanBefore said! Unfortunately the helmet is only certified as an open face and not a full face. If you're looking for a similar type of helmet with a certified chin bar, check out the Bell Broozer helmet!
Go check out the Bell Broozer helmet, although it has a removable chin bar, it is ECE & DOT certified and the chin bar is safe enough to protect you from impacts. Checkout our full review of the Bell Broozer helmet here: th-cam.com/video/q721q2i7Byk/w-d-xo.html
If you're wanting that aggressive cruiser/naked style, you can get the Bell Broozer which is a helmet that has the option of removing the chin bar on it, but it is P+J homolgated for ECE, so it means it will offer the same protection as a standard full face but you can take the chinbar off. Another option would be the Scorpion HX1 which has a degree of customisation to it with various parts included in the box to get it how you want it. A final option would be the Shark Vancore, which is a fullface but has an aggresive set of goggles. Hope this is of use
@@ItsBeenDanBefore thanks for your input! We agree, the Bell Broozer have the same type of style but is much safer due to it's chin bar being certified. Same goes to the Scorpion HX1 & Shark Vancore. The look of the Simpson helmets is also somewhat similar to these type of helmets!
It’s basically an open face or an almost 3/4 but not fully. Its not about safety at that point but cool factor. This isnt the helmet you wear on a GSXR lol
Will you be doing a review and road test of the Shoei RF-1400? For some reason I find it more comfortable and even quieter than the GT Air II. Would've expected the opposite, at least on the latter part.
Not necessarily, no. They are both not safe enough to protect you from impacts, as they both aren't certified. They mainly protect you from road debris, wind, and/or bugs as you ride.
@@merasanjuan1026 I know it’s made in china but is the headquarters in the US or china btw I bought the scorpion exo R1 air carbon and it’s top notch quality very light and comfortable with a very good aerodynamics and vision
Well done with the review!! I was wondering though, why is there no DOT certification for this helmet? Nice helmet ngl but i'll pass... i'd prefer some more safety. Better safe than sorry.
That's because the Covert-X available in Europe can be more considered to be an open face due to the protective elements on the sides actually having impact protection, whereas the US/DOT version of the Covert has the option of the side elements being removed, which will basically turn the helmet into a shell/half-helmet/brain bucket with a visor
Hi Burnie, perhaps it is because you have the US version of the covert-x helmet, this is the European version thus it has a slightly different design on the vents. The US version can also be converted to a half helmet.
This is some next level helmet reviewing. I learned all I wanted and more

What about riding it on the rain? Does it leak a lot on your face?
Is there room for a Cardo bluetooth system? (extra room near the ears build-in?)
Dutch version of the helmet.

Interesting review… but what would be the main difference then to the Scorpion EXO Combat? It seems like they are both pretty much alike
We need more reviews from Sabrina.
Why does it look different to other Covert-X reviews on YT? Is there a different version to it that I don’t know about? Thanks in advance

Another great video as always. How is the chin bar/face guard certificied ?

Does anyone know , is the covert's chin mask compatible with exo combat helmet?
Do you have any recommendations for a helmet that has a removable chin but offers more protection?

Does this come with speaker pockets, and can it be used on the open face configuration?
Yes the helmet comes with speaker pockets, and can be used in the open face configuration!
Is there a helmet that looks like this but is in one solid peace a.k.a a full-face helmet?? Digging the style but not sure about its safety.

HJC i20 review coming?
Hey great review.
I was wondering how it is wearing glasses inside this helmet?
Thanks.
We didn't try it ourselves, but we assume that glasses would fit comfortably in the helmet.
Great Review! Is the helmet durable and would it still be safe in case you get into a crash?
If you get in a crash where your helmet hits the ground/car whatever get a new one. Especially at great speeds
It’s basically an open face or an almost 3/4 but not fully. Its not about safety at that point but cool factor. This isnt the helmet you wear on a GSXR lol
These types of Helmets are all about looks. If you want safety go Aria and full face.... none of these half face rubbish designs.
What do you think?

that's not double d rings i see.
I want coolest to be on highway please!😊

Looks great, but too bad the chin is not protected from impacts
Is this face guard safer than the one on the Combat Evo?
Not necessarily, no. They are both not safe enough to protect you from impacts, as they both aren't certified. They mainly protect you from road debris, wind, and/or bugs as you ride.
Wait so is scorpion exo US brand or is it a Chinese brand
😆 it's made in China for 😊

I love that Scorpion stayed with the D-Ring strap, I can't stand those ratchet style straps.
The vents on my EXO COVERT don’t look like that

NXR 2 please!
Nice review, but I feel like you should do a whole comparison video with all of these kinds of helmets, ones that have a removable chin guard!
Thanks for your comment! Don't worry, a video on that is in the making! Stay tuned :)
She is so damn beautiful
Is this helmet ece certified?
Yes, the helmet has an ECE 22.05 certification.
@@Championhelmets thanks, I bought it just waiting delivery 👍
